Prologue

One hundred years ago, Easarth planet witnessed a massive war where large and powerful countries clashed, while smaller nations had no choice but to remain hidden. As time passed, the pressure on these smaller countries increased, compelling them to join those powerful countries if they wanted to preserve their national status.

Yet, these smaller nations were reluctant to engage in the war, recognizing that there was nothing to gain and only losses to endure. In response, like-minded countries opted to forge an alliance. Initially, it started with three nations, but over time, the size of the alliance expanded as more weak countries shared the same mindset.

Thanks to the alliance, the powerful countries were unable to target the smaller countries, and the strength of the powerful nations diminished as they fought among themselves. Eventually, the alliance grew so formidable that it accounted for 80% of the strength on the Easarth planet. Realizing that the ongoing conflict would lead to unfavorable outcomes for the larger nations, they decided to halt the war.

Even though the alliance was initially formed to stop the war, instead of disbanding after fulfilling its purpose, they took a bold step forward. The nations relinquished their statuses and established the Easarth Federation, comprising 88 countries, with only 5 powerful countries and 16 others remaining outside. Recognizing the imminent challenge posed by the Federation, the remaining countries understood that, given their combined strength, resistance would be futile. So, within 5 years, they too joined the Easarth Federation.

In the initial phase, the federation comprised 107 high-level members, each country contributing one representative. While having a large number of decision-making people wasn't ideal, it was deemed necessary at the time. And there were plans to reduce this number in the future.

By the year 2400 BD, all other countries ceased to exist, leaving only the Easarth Federation. From that point forward, everyone became a citizen of Easarth, erasing any distinctions among them. Just a month later, the Federation initiated the introduction of a new currency and established rules that applied uniformly across the entire Easarth planet.

In the early stages of the federation, disparities among people persisted. Some enjoyed the benefits of highly developed areas with quality healthcare, education, and other facilities, while others were less fortunate. To bridge this gap, the Federation encouraged migration to these advanced regions. However, despite the initiative, a significant number, especially among the older population, opted to remain in their current locations. Acknowledging the necessity for time to adapt to this new reality, attention was redirected towards other pressing matters.

To propel the scientific and technological advancement of Easarth, a concerted effort was made to recruit scientists from around the globe. Freed from the concerns of war and disparities, people redirected their focus toward the progress of science and technology. As a result, new technologies emerged daily, and people seamlessly integrated these technologies into their daily lives.

...

A decade had passed since the establishment of the Easarth Federation. While progress had been achieved in adjusting the development pace across all regions, and people were experiencing a uniform quality of life, it fell short of the federation's expectation.

Despite the absence of distinct countries, a significant majority of people still preferred to stay within the confines of the imaginary boundary. Statistical data over the past decades revealed that only 5-10% of individuals opted to relocate to other regions. Cultural differences also contributed to some people returning to their original locations. If this trend continued, there was a looming possibility that a virtual country would inevitably take shape in the future.

To address this issue, they decided to construct a new city, essentially starting from scratch. Recognizing that people might view it as just another foreign city due to ingrained perspectives, they opted for a different approach in publicizing the project.

The Federation conveyed the intention to build a city in various environments, showcasing the technological advancements of recent decades. They selected landscapes such as forests, deserts, cliffs, and islands for this initiative, starting with the testing phase focused on a forest environment.

...

The Kastick Forest, the largest in Easarth, occupied the southeast region of the Aslan continent, covering an expansive area of 3.6 million square miles. The heart of this vast forest served as the starting point for the initiation of the first city project.

One year later, they simultaneously initiated the project in other diverse environments, including islands, cliffs, and deserts.

By the year 2446 BD, four cities had been successfully completed in the diverse environments of forests, islands, cliffs, and deserts, with the capacity to accommodate at least 100 million people.

While constructing the cities in these locations posed its challenges, the real marvel was in ensuring the functionality of the cities within these harsh environments without making drastic alterations. Recognizing this achievement, they decided to promote these cities as "miracle cities."

After over 30 years of continuous promotion, the anticipation for these so-called "miracle cities" reached a peak. As a result, people flocked to these cities in large numbers. Astonishingly, it took just five months for these cities to be completely filled with residents.

As the demand for residency in those cities surpassed availability, people began to request the creation of additional ones. Despite having the expertise and leveraging new technological breakthroughs, the Federation could complete the project in less than 10 years, but they hesitated. They recognized that repeating the feat would diminish the sense of it being a miracle.

And they also wanted to avoid disappointing the people. So, they decided to embark on a new challenge, choosing extreme environments like the ocean, glacier, and volcano for the next set of cities.
