57: Solving the Mysteries One by One. [2]

[First Person POV]

Dark, dark, everything was dark.

Darkness enveloped everything, shrouding my senses in an impenetrable veil. No matter where I looked, his presence eluded me. Had he abandoned me to this oppressive void? How long has it been since he departed?

Straining against the murky fog of my memory, I struggled to grasp any semblance of time. But it slipped through my fingers like sand.

"Ugh!" The acrid tang of ammonia pervaded the air, mingling with the incessant drip-drip-drip that reverberated through the gloom.

Yet, I couldn't bring myself to drink from it. How long would he subject me to this torment? Was he even still alive?

The weight of my actions pressed upon me like a suffocating blanket. The thought that my impulsive decisions might have led to the annihilation of him and our entire village haunted my every waking moment.
