Chapter 27

After two more days , Yami finally got to experience large scale war . More than thousand shinobi from each of the sides started attacking each other .

All kinds of jutsu were fired rapidly and Yami did not even have time to leisurely check the status of enemies as he was constantly being attacked by multiple enemies.

After being promoted to Tokubetsu Jonin under Sakumo's direct command , he was made captain of a small squad of three chunin. Sakumo showed great trust in Yami by this gesture because the three chunin were exceptional ninja from Konoha's prestigious clans.

Nara Shimizu, Aburame Shinji and Sarutobi Miki. These two boys and one girl were older than Yami by more than five years but they did not held prejudice against Yami. This good treatment caused Yami to rejoice and his impression of these three teenagers was already very high.

Yami's mentality was simple. He only wanted to have good bonds with few special people who he deems worthy to have a place in his heart. Minato was the first in this world and now there were Shikaku sensei and his three subordinates included too.

Miki was a fair skinned long brown hair girl and her face was also little beautiful. She had a cheerful and lively personality which was rare for clan members who are generally too proud to properly interact with other people. She excelled in particularly fire style and was average in other aspects.

Shimizu was Shikaku sensei's relative and both of them had a normal brothers bond with each other. Shikaku even personally asked Yami to take care of Shimizu because his talent in chakra reserves was not that good. Shimizu being a Nara had exceptional brain in his head and got along well with Yami as both of them liked to act lazy at times. His chara reserves were only at low chunin level but Yami did not mind that because Shimizu had great proficiency with his shadow manipulation jutsu instead. He also had strong resistance to genjutsu which was a nice trait to have during war when nobody could guess the attack pattern of enemies beforehand all the time. He had black spiky hair and a big x shaped scar on his right cheek which Yami found very cool looking.

Shinji was a quiet guy in fact too quiet. He wore round sunglasses and big jacket which covered even half of his face above neck. Yami found this guy very interesting and likable because he could listen to you trash talk for hours quietly and not even stop you from talking once mid way. He also had a calm personality and could analyze details much faster than even Shimizu sometimes.

Right now the four of them were in the middle of huge Scorching desert . Miki had a little scared expression because they could clearly see thousands of enemies and allies fighting for their lives in various small and big groups. Yami sighed as she would be more shocked when the battle progressed further in near future and Kage level shinobi started battling.

Even one casual attack from them could easily kill several chunin like insects after all.

Their small squad was not attracting much attention from both enemies and allies because Yami had decided to take low key approach. Sakumo had ordered him to help other squads by swiftly killing the cannon fodder enemies who dared to disrupt the battle flow of Konoha allies regardless of their rank. This meant that Yami and his squad would have to help in the battles of jonin and genin alike.

Yami accepted this mission with a smile because he could kill more weaker enemies openly. Naturally at some point of time Yami's group would attraction great attention from the enemies but he had confidence to easily shake them and retreat.

Yami was using pure taijutsu along with his simple new short sword to kill genin level ninja as they continued to advance stealthily towards the huge group of elite jonin and normal jonin who were fighting few hundred meters away from them.

As Yami killed the ninth genin so far , he heard Miki's question with her trembling voice. " Captain.., do we really need to go there first ? We can always change our direction and help weaker allies.. "

" Hmm.. I agree with you Miki but captain is also right with his decision because we have a mission to deter enemies as soon as possible. For that we have to help jonin class allies by killing the weaker enemies and let them focus on opponent jonins.." before Yami could speak, he heard Shimizu's calm voice and nodded in approval along with Shinji..

" But.." before Miki could speak anymore, Yami decided to interrupt.

" Miki san , are you feeling that scared ? Dont worry as I wont put your lives in extreme danger . Besides hehe.. you three won't have to fight much anyway. Just let me take care of the enemies and show you the power of your captain.."

Yami said with a calm tone as he sliced one more enemy genin into two with his short sword before he could scream and alert others. Miki's expression relaxed a little as she started remembering the time when the three of them fought with Yami and could not put even a scratch on him despite half an hour serious spar... She already respected Yami's strength very much and would follow his orders without question ...
