loot hoarder

Alex lives an uninspiring life, as a high school student. The stories he heard from his late grandmother about his parents demise in a dimension war, felt like nothing more than tales. According to her, a relentless conflict raged between monstrous beings and humans withing that dimension. A war that somehow led to the banishment of his family. However, Alex dismissed it all as nonsense. Yet everything changed in an instant when he stumbled upon a gleaming, ancient artifact concealed in the depths of his basement. Little did he know, the artifact would transport him onto that fabled dimension. The gravity of his grandmother's tales now loomed before him, casting ominous shadow upon his, and his familys past, as he uncovers devestating secrets.

Emily

The sun cast its golden rays through the classroom window, filling the air with a warm glow.

Dust particles danced lazily in the sunlight, creating an ethereal feeling within the room.

Alex sat at his desk, his mind drifting away from the teacher's monotonous lecture,

his thoughts consumed by a different kind of adventure.

The classroom itself felt mundane.

Rows of desks lined up in an uninspiring formation, walls adorned with uninspired educational posters,

and the faint smell of chalk and dry erase markers lingering in the air

He was a normal high school student, blending effortlessly with the sea of teenagers around him.

His unkempt brown hair fell casually over his hazel eyes, which held a natural indifferent expression.

He wore a worn-out school t-shirt and black jeans.

Beside him, sat Emily.

With silky, mesmerazing black hair that cascaded down her shoulders,

and a face with freckles.

And eyes with a mesmerizing shade of emerald green.

She leaned over slightly and spoke, her voice catching him off guard.

"Hey, I noticed you're always lost in your thoughts," she said with a friendly smile.

"I'm Emily, by the way. Mind if I join you in the daydreaming?"

Emily was popular, not just at her classroom, but throughout all school.

Quite the opposite of Alex, who stayed away from... well, all people.

Despite being in the same classroom for 2 years now, unsurprsingly, they have never spoke.

Alex blinked in surprise, not accustomed to people initiating conversations with him.

He forced a shy smile, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Uh, hi. I'm Alex," he replied, his gaze shifting nervously.

"Sure, I guess. I mean, it's nice to meet you."

Emily chuckled softly, sensing his shyness.

"Don't worry, Alex. I won't bite," she reassured him, her eyes sparkling with warmth.

"So, what's got you lost in your thoughts? Anything exciting?"

'Argh... what could this bitch want from me'.

Despite being beautiful and charismatic, Emily was a known bully.

And Alex was already in a bad mood today.

Alex's cheeks flushed slightly as he mustered a response.

"Well, um, I... I was actually daydreaming about video games," he admitted, his voice growing quieter.

"They're sort of my escape, you know? A way to be someone else, somewhere else."

'While its true, this gotta be the most boring answer there is, mayby it will shake her off'

Emily's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Oh, I totally get that!" she exclaimed.

"Video games can transport us to incredible worlds and let us experience things beyond our everyday lives.

It's like stepping into a whole new adventure."

Alex face palmed inwardly

'Ho god...she is laughing at me?...the conversation barely started and im already feeling mocked'.

Seeing Alexs face, Emily giggled, trying to supress a laugh.

Alex didnt like this new arrangment that happend just yesterday,

it was the teachers idea to sit Emily next Alex, as way to 'create new friendships',

and 'bond the class'.

Having a short fuse was always a problem for alex,

but he was not going to fix it today.

'Fuck it, im going home'
