Lookism: The Hungry Wolf

Garou in Lookism. Personality is sort of different. It's more up-to-date with his current personality in the ONE webcomic..... I suck at writing so don't expect anything good... I don't own anything, all stuff belongs to original authors. As for the cover. I dunno. The cover does not belong to me....

Lame Chapter 11

"And I said, the night sky is~"

Garou sat within the crowd, watching as the performance went on. Around him, people screamed and clapped, and loud music played in the background. On stage, Daniel, along with a pudgy kid named Duke sang their hearts out, and it was actually not too bad.

Both of them had pretty good vocals. Garou shrugged his shoulders, thinking. He would get a little bored if he just stuck around this area every day. Maybe later he could wander off after school. He was pretty mobile himself. It wouldn't even take him an hour to get most places about by foot. Maybe head to Ansan?

There had also been some buzz about a few people of interest from his home country that was around town. Maybe he could come to say hello. Most of them though were pointedly jerks.

The crowd swayed about, around Garou, as they screamed and shouted at the performance, enjoying it. The melodious and bitter combination created an addictive and unique symphony, that flowed and caused one's blood to pump. While it was still sort of amateur, it was still prodigious for the pair to achieve such results.

He looked about, the sky above slightly dimming as the day wore on, and the performance soon came to a close. On stage, Duke and Daniel were covered in sweat and gasping as they ended, gasping for breath.

Garou clapped alongside everyone else, before departing. He was in the end, a lone wolf. Better not stick along too long and attract any attention. Daniel was good at drawing attention to the people around him. A trait that was irritating, in Garou's opinion.

He exited the venue, walking down the empty street. Cars were packed to the brim at every corner, making parking a hassle, but Garou could see a few people already leaving. Above, a few trees shifted lazily in the wind, and the busy city was soon quieting down as sunset arrived.

Daniel would probably be sticking around for a while more, so Garou headed back to the house, collapsing on his mattress. Nearby, the fat Daniel snored, on, his fat jiggling as he slept peacefully.

Shrugging, Garou took out his phone, scrolling about for a while, having nothing better to do. As the blue screen glowed across his face, and the chirping of cicadas began, he sat up. A sunset walk would be nice. He could even check up on his old willow tree. Garou was wondering if the "God Dogs" would still be around.

Getting up, Garou left the house once more, closing the rusted door behind him, locking it. His tall figure shifting, he weaved through the many corridors of this old neighborhood, passing under pipes and over drains, through dirty alleys, and around weed-filled lots.

Soon, the silver-haired teen could see faint stars in the sky, along with the blinking lights of airplanes. He walked down the sidewalk, near the convenience store where Daniel worked.

Garou continued down the street on his nightly walk, loose pants flapping about at his ankles and his wooden sandals clapping against the ground.

He passed by a group of teens sitting in the corner, the smell of smoke and booze heavy in the air. The high-schoolers laughed and joked, flicking about cigarettes and chugging down copious amounts of soju.

Shrugging, Garou soon broke off into a jog, speeding his way through the outskirts of Seoul. Not breaking a sweat, his muscles pulsed and his hair shaking in the wind, the silver-haired teen jumped clear over a bench, landing gracefully on the concrete floor.

"Ai!?" Suddenly, someone yelped in front of him, causing Garou to stop in place, stepping back.

Stepping back, Garou stood still.

"Apologies." He spoke half-heartedly, stepping aside. In front of him, was a slim curvy woman, one who Garou already somewhat knew. Crystal Choi.

The beautiful woman stared in shock. She wore a tight-fitting pink tanktop along with some yoga pants. Her silky hair was pulled back in a long ponytail and her face was covered in sweat.

They stared at each other for a few moments, Garou staring at her in somewhat disdain, and Crystal looking back in confusion.

"..."

"....."

Garou shrugged, quirking his eyebrows uncomfortably. Sure she was pretty, but the way she narrowed her eyes at him was irritating. He didn't do anything…

"Hello." She spoke.

"Hello," Garou said.

"You… Are the one who fought Gun today." Crystal spoke, pursing her lips as she stared at him.

"Yes… And you must be his client. And that convenience store girl that my friend Daniel was shrimping over." The silver-haired teen replied, sitting down on the bench lazily.

The rich girl stared at him intensely, as if trying to decipher something. Garou had no idea where this conversation was going, so he just waited impatiently, his foot tapping against the ground rhythmically.

"Why did you stand up for him…?" Crystal finally spoke again, her long willowy hair blowing about in the late evening wind.

"Why wouldn't I?" Garou smirked back. Maybe this girl wasn't as smart as he thought…? Even with all that effort, Daniel put into his "inspirational" speech? He coughed, continuing on:

"Ugh… Do I really have to explain it? He is my friend. While a wimp, he still is. Not clear enough? It's simple, really. Are you that oblivious? How sad."

Crystal flinched a bit, but her face returned to normal in seconds as she put her hands on her hips, breasts heaving, and cheeks red. "Y-you… What do you know! All of you are born with golden spoons, being handsome, talented, prodigious? What do you know about the suffering of those people below!? They are ridiculed and shamed just because of the way they look!"

Garou stopped at this, blinking. He stared at her for a second, eyes wide. And then, his eyes turned malicious as he laughed. He laughed, laughed, and laughed.

"Really? I didn't know there was someone so bigoted in the world. Wimps and ugly people are looked down on? You're the type to believe almost all handsome or pretty people, rich and ambitious people are all jerks. Villains. What a joke."

"Completely delusional. What are you trying to be, a….. Hero? Well, let me tell you something. Heroes? They don't exist. Fighting against 'evil' and bringing justice to the land out of selflessness? They're just done out of self-worth, for status and money and power. To fulfill themselves in some way. All that brings is corruption and hatred."

"In someone else's head, you will always be a villain. Everyone in the world is a villain…. I don't despise ugly or idiotic people. I only despise them if they don't do anything about it, and just drown in their own worthlessness. I despise them if they just cry in a corner even when they've gone through so much. When they give up all hope. My friend, that you probably labeled arrogant and stuck up was once like that you know? Bullied and pathetic. Sure he's still sort of pathetic, but I know he'll rise up soon enough."

"Not that I'm the one to talk," Garou said, walking off, his expression conflicted as he thought back on his lame speech.
