Searching Through the Base

I open the bush to find Luke's jacket, I picked it up and a person with horns pops out, I looked at Kaname.

"He's pretty smart," Sinn said, replying for Kaname. "losing the clothes would aid his escape better but of course he slipped up giving it to a demon," Sinn said and the jacket started glowing. Kaname shielded me as the jacket glowed and then dissipated.

"Hehehehehehe, good to see you again Kaname," the demon said.

"What did they say?" Kaname asked Sinn.

"They said it was nice to see you again Kaname," I said to Kaname, "stop talking, you'll make yourself worse,"

"How did you understand that?" Sinn asked me, I looked at him confused, "demons speak an ancient language, it was around before shinigami," Sinn explained.

"I don't know, I just understood them," I said looking at the demon.

"I've never seen you before, who are you?"

"I'm Karma, Kaname's sister and you are?" I asked extending my hand to the female demon.

"I go by Lyst back home," she said looking at me up and down.

"Nice to meet you Lyst," I said feeling uncomfortable, "so uh how do you know Kaname?"

"Hehe we've talked a bit," Lyst said with a smile looking at Kaname, he quickly turned his head.

"They talked?" I asked, looking at Sinn, he just shrugged.

"So what're you doing in a place like this? Shouldn't be out enjoying your life, war isn't pretty Karma," Lyst said rubbing her thumb on my cheek.

"I'm looking for a friend, would you have happened to see him?" I asked.

"Ugh, the rude boy in white? He came by here, I popped out to say hello but he just threw his coat at me. I have horns but I'm no coat rack," Lyst said fuming, as fire exploded off the top of her head.

"Did you see where he went?"

"It just so happens that I did, you wanna know?"

"Yes please,"

"I'll let you know if you let me accompany you," Lyst said with a smirk.

"Nu-uh," Sinn said, shaking his head, "that demon is nothing but trouble, she'll just try to corrupt you,"

"I'll try not to this time I just want to tag along with you for now," Lyst said, "plus I could be of some use to you somehow," I thought about it for a bit, I wondered if bringing her along would be a good idea. She won't just be with me but Kaname, Kami, and Luke too so I'm not the only person at risk. Plus walking around with a demon would definitely turn some heads in my direction, but I'll just have to take them.

"You can come with," I said as Lyst wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheek, "but you need to ensure you won't be a danger to me or anyone around me,"

"That's a bit much to ask if a demon you know," Lyst said folding her arms, she then shrugged and sighed, "I'll do it,"

"Hey, are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure she's no ordinary demon,"

"Your right I'm not, I'm one of the highest-ranking demons as you could probably tell by my name,"

"I figured as much, well all the more reason to keep you around," I said holding my hand out to Lyst. She took it and stood up to her feet, she then wrapped her arms around me.

"Why don't we forget about that guy ad have fun together?" Lyst said holding me tight.

"Sorry but I have too much on my plate right now to have fun," I said politely getting her to let go.

"Aw but why?" Lyst asked pouting.

"I need to find Luke or I can't go home and I need to find a friend of mine," I explained to her.

"That's Luke?! Damn, he really grew up," Lyst said shocked.

"Grew up?"

"Yeah, Luke is a quincy that serves directly under the deity of the stars. It's been 500 years since I've seen him, he's gotten so big,"

"Luke is a quincy?!"

"Yeah, you didn't know?"

"No, but that does explain quite a lot about him, seeing as he has a power without being a pairing," I said looking at Kaname, "but why would he keep a quincy up in our attic and why would it matter if I brought him back or not?"

"He's got healing powers," Sinn said.

"Yeah but so does Kami," I said trying to understand why " Lyst who is the deity of the stars?"

"Nobody knows but Luke, he's the only person to have ever seen them,"

"Well, now I have more of a reason to find Luke, Lyst which way did he run off to?"

"He went that way," Lyst said as she pointed in the northeast direction.

"But that's where the quincy base is located,"

"Maybe he's going to report back to the deity of the stars," Sinn said.

"Whatever we need to go regardless, if he makes it there then we'll probably never get him back,"
