I already got your answer

"What are you…"

She wanted to ask him what he wanted to do, but she quickly stopped herself mid-sentence.

"Is that hard to answer?" Bruce knitted his brows.

Evily sighed and fell silent.

After a long while, Evily finally spoke.

"Are you serious?"

Bruce replied in a deep voice, "Yes."

"I don't even know what you like about me. My youth? My beauty?"

"I can't explain why. Perhaps, it's how you look like when you're seducing me as you pretend to be innocent."

"You…"

Evily was enraged. "Since when have I seduced you?"

"When you were drugged at the hotel?"

"That's… That's a coincidence. I didn't have an ulterior motive at all!"

Bruce's lips curled into a smile. His eyes flickered with amusement, but that disappeared too quickly for Evily to notice.

"We're not compatible with each other. There's an age gap between us. An attractive bachelor like you is certainly an ideal husband for many women. What I'm trying to say is that you should give me some time to adjust and consider. After all, I'm friends with Jamie. Also, you shouldn't be so domineering by forcing me to agree, right?"

At the mention of his age, Bruce's cold expression darkened further.

His face was filled with a grim look by the time she finished speaking. He waited to hear what else she had to say.

"How long?"

He sounded like he was running out of patience.

Evily pouted. "Do you even know what you're supposed to do? Is this how you behaved when you dated someone in the past? Anyone whom you've taken a liking to automatically becomes yours, huh? Does everyone else agree so quickly?"

Bruce fell silent.

Sighing softly, she continued, "Alright, you probably don't need to pursue other women. They can't wait to jump into your arms."

Bruce narrowed his eyes and took a puff from the cigarette he had.

Suddenly Bruce tossed out a question. "What's your relationship with Johnny Cooper?"

"Huh? We're… Friends!"

"Is it because of him?" He asked with a hint of jealousy in his voice.

However, Evily did not notice it and just laughed as she denied it. "No. He's more of a brother figure to me. He had been treating me well throughout the years and I'm grateful towards him."

Bruce thought about that when Johnny held Evily, looking so intimate with each other. He was really unhappy about it.

"Please, open the door," Evily said in a polite tone.

Evily couldn't help wanting to run away from him, but the man before her grabbed her left arm when she merely turned sideways.

"I already got your answer," Bruce said plainly before he turned and headed out.

Evily suppressed all of the feelings that made her heart squirm and writhe right then. She really shouldn't get herself tangled up with this man. Yet, his actions are too warm sometimes; He gets her caught up in a daze and it makes her feel like she can't get out of it. However, she shouldn't dream about a man who shouldn't be the man of her dreams. She has learned a lot from Alexander.

Bruce was acting strange when he returned to his private room. Jeremy glanced over his shoulder to see that Evily had disappeared.

"Uncle Bruce, Did you see...."

Jamie trailed off hesitantly as Bruce seemed in a bad mood.

"What's wrong?" Jeremy asked.

However, the moment he finished his sentence, he was met with Bruce's sharp and icy glare. With Bruce's gaze so cold, Jeremy felt like it nearly froze him up! The younger man shuddered slightly before he hurried off to a corner where he quietly minded his own business.

Everyone else could tell that something was off and they naturally remained silent.

Just then, Jamie received a call from Evily. "You're going home? Alright then, let me drive you home… No? Okay… Fine. Text me when you are home. Bye!"

One week had gone by.

Evily with Sasha visited the headquarters of KOAL for the meeting. Sasha urged Evily to have lunch in the KOAL canteen.

After taking the food, she saw Bruce eating at a table just as she sat down.

'Director Hudson is so down to earth. I heard that he always has lunch in the canteen." Sasha said.

Bruce was enjoying his lunch slowly, but he stood out among the crowd.

Evily wanted to disappear into thin air as soon as she recalled his dark face.

Argh, forget it! She finished her meal as quickly as possible. Just as she put the dishes away, she met him.

Speak of the devil.

"Hello, Director Hudson," Evily and Sasha said in unison.

Bruce shot a glance at Evily and nodded.

At that moment, the elevator arrived. Evily wanted to wait for the next one, but Sasha pulled her in.

As the three of them stood in the elevator, Evily felt oppressed.

Please go faster, she prayed internally as the elevator ascended.

Finally, when they reached their floor, Evily pulled Sasha out almost immediately.
