Chapter 99

Surprisingly, the gate leading to the Moon wasn't directly teleporting me on its surface, instead, I had to walk through a wormhole with my eyes closed to not vomit all my guts out since it was... Trippy, to say the least.

And after a few minutes of walking, which could have taken only seconds if I ran but I preferred to stay careful, I sensed a change in the environment which prompted me to open my eyes, but unlike the view I expected to see, I was seemingly within a pitch-black cave, with a giant sealed black door in front of me along with a recipient of some sort, the still opened gate being the only source of 'light' around.

'I guess they also hid the gate on the Moon so they wouldn't have someone else using it with nefarious intentions' I thought as I saw that the entire cave was put under a seal, however, it seemed to be made so that someone from outside couldn't reach the gate

Getting closer to the recipient, I noticed a thin needle coming out from the center of it, as if begging me to sting myself with it so that it could draw some of my blood.

It surely required blood from a member of the Hyūga Clan considering their relationship with the Ōtsutsuki Clan living on the Moon, and luckily for me, I did have a small amount of Hyūga's blood in my veins.

'I'll just bite my finger for the blood, who knows what's on this needle' I thought and drew blood from my finger after biting it quite strongly since I wasn't bleeding easily

'Shit, I think I went overkill' I thought again as it wasn't a few drops of blood that fell in the recipient but a nearly constant flow of blood coming from my finger instead

Healing my finger, I noticed my blood getting drained from the recipient and flowing within the giant black door, creating the Tenseigan flower with my blood which suddenly made the cave shake as the door split open in two, leading to a couple of stairs going upward.

Climbing the stairs, I saw the roof open the same way as the gate, making rocks and other moon debris fall around me.

Finally leaving the darkness of the cave, I was met with a breathtaking view as I realized that the gate on the Moon was hidden on the visible face of the Moon from Earth.

'Wow' I let out in my mind as I was still not breathing since I felt no oxygen around me, while I saw less than half of the continent where I lived all my life in this world, with a couple of islands spread around, since, at this time of the day, the entire continent wasn't facing the Moon

Our Earth was seemingly smaller than the one in my previous world, definitely, and so might be the Moon.

What took my attention however was the continent opposite to ours, a continent the shinobi world did not influence, and knowledge about it was barely found in some libraries.

I know that there were countries led by Daimyō, but there were no Shinobi, instead, it was full of Samurai.

The Land of Iron was the country with the most information about them since they came from this continent to ours a few millennia ago.

Nevertheless, I decided to move toward the hidden face of the Moon since nothing else was on this side.

I avoided jumping as I was on my way, after all, with my physical strength, I would be sent to outer space, though running was still slightly difficult, it felt like running underwater and I'd done it a few times before.

After running long enough, I could no longer see the Earth behind me but instead noticed something on the horizon, a strange yellow dome that was covering a large area of the Moon, preventing me from seeing what was inside.

'Seems like it is my destination' I thought as I picked up the pace toward this barrier while studying it from afar to see if I could enter without a hitch

And fortunately, it seemed like the barrier wasn't made to prevent one from entering and was only making it impossible to see what was inside, even better, it was completely invisible from afar, in space, or from Earth, but visible from the Moon.

Once at close range, and after finding out that this barrier's structure was quite outdated compared to what the Uzumaki Clan could do in the last few decades, I walked through it after creating a small breach.

'Oh? I can finally breathe' I thought before looking around to see how barren this place looked like

I realized that the whole place was lit by a single thing, the Tenseigan, right at the center of the dome inside what looked like a temple, and also one of the few buildings that still wasn't in ruin.

Closing my eyes to sense any lifeforms, I only sensed eight people, most of them located inside the main temple, and it seemed like there was an ongoing conflict that prompted me to stealthily approach them.

"Why are you still stopping us, Takano? The gate was activated on Earth!" one man with brown hair, closed eyes, and a white and brown garb which was seemingly the only clothes all of them wore shouted before someone behind him added "We have to use the Energy Vessel and begin the destruction of the Earth before some filthy human discover it!"

The peculiar man with spiky white hair and a long beard which made him look older than he supposedly was, stood in front of the door as if to protect the path leading to the Energy Vessel, and lowered his head as he said "I'm sorry, but we shouldn't do that."

This outraged the men that were facing him before one of them exclaimed "Takano! What brought this change of heart? You fought with all of us against the main family, you are even the one who killed most of our clansmen!" as veins of anger appeared around his closed eyes

If the man known as Takano had his eyes opened, I was certain that he would've had a look full of sorrow as he replied "That was in the past, and also our biggest mistake... You, all of you never truly watched over them again since you saw them fight against each other in a meaningless war."

He then 'looked' up and declared "What right do we have to decide whether or not they should live?"

"Our right? We weren't settled by Hamura-sama on the Moon away from these sinners for no reason... And they also stole the Demonic Statue we were supposed to guard! They already went too far, and if we don't destroy the Earth, we will end up suffering from their mistakes!" another man with a long black beard and long thick eyelashes but without a single hair on his head exclaimed

"Truly a bunch of old cowards." Takano let out which made all those who were facing him tilted as tick marks and veins appeared on their forehead

"Do you think I'm a fool? You are just scared of dying, trying to get your hands on the Energy Vessel to become immortals, and using Earth as an excuse because you are worried that they will steal it from you! You blame them for war and yet what have we done? We decimated the main family! We are NOT better than them, and our fall is more than deserved." Takano declared as he took a defensive stance without being necessarily confident to take the five men in front of him alone as orbs of chakra were floating behind him and began to be shaped into swords

"What a pity, in the end, you are siding with the sinners." the brown-haired man said before another one added "We already got rid of your wife since she was a hindrance, but we didn't expect you to take that side as well... Don't worry, your son will be in good hands, learning that you were killed by an earthling intruder will do the trick."

"You bastards!" Takano angrily let out as he knew that one of them was missing and that he couldn't take care of this sixth person before taking out the five of them first

I sensed two people away from the main temple, one inside a house while the other was just outside of it, unmoving, as if to prevent the other from watching the ongoing scene and waiting for the right time to take him out.

'So they want to use me as a scapegoat? Mmh... I could use this to my advantage' I thought before leaving the old man fighting his one versus five as I went toward the house keeping the boy locked

Another man was standing in front of the door, a man that had the same white hair color as that Takano guy, though he didn't have a magnificent beard and only a small mustache while he was balding, only having hair around the side of his head, along with an extremely ugly face.

'If they all look ugly like that, no wonder all women in their Clan died and left them as the last survivors, maybe minus that boy's father' I thought before choosing to make a gentleman's entrance

"Uh? Who are y-" the ugly man began to say but his mind was telling me otherwise, making it clear that he was not friendly at all, so I didn't let him finish and grabbed his head with my right hand before slamming him through the door until I pinned his head on the rocky floor inside of the house, knocking him out

Looking up, I saw a boy with pale skin, white hair that made mine looks gray with how pale and shimmering it was, and Byakugan for eyes, making him the only one not 'blind' on the Moon, surely because he was still too young to have them taken away.

"Uncle..?" the boy let out as he was getting nervous so I decided to put him to sleep with a Genjutsu before absorbing the ugly man I knocked out with Suijin

I then looked at my reflection and noticed that I once again gained an additional tomoe, on the left eye this time, meaning that the Rinnegan didn't matter and only the Ōtsutsuki Clan's blood of the victim did.

'That's still good to know' I thought before approaching the boy, picking him up, and moving back to the main temple without being too fast to let the ongoing battle progress a little to make that Takano guy owe me one

And surprisingly, the white-haired man was able to take four of the five people that wanted to kill him, with the bald guy missing from the room as the door behind Takano was opened.

He was badly injured, standing on one of his knees while desperately trying to get up, his clothes completely tainted with blood, both his and his foes'.

'Damn, he actually killed four of them alone, you have my respect old man' I thought before revealing myself to him while carrying his sleeping son

"You, you're the intrud- *COUGH COUGH*" the old man began to say before painting the ground in red until he covered his mouth with one of his hand

"You're in no condition to talk, here, let me heal you." I said as I laid his sleeping son near him and was going to help him but he prevented me and said "No, don't waste time on me! We have *COUGH* to stop him from unleashing the Energy Vessel!" as he frantically pointed at the giant opened the door

"It won't take long though? And he has yet to reach the center, and undo the seal too." I let out, knowing about the seal after absorbing the other guy from before but he shook his head left and right and added "Please, let's talk about this after he's dead... I can hold on this much if it's you." which surprised me since he seemed to know me while I knew that his injuries were fatal and that he shouldn't even be conscious right now

"...Alright." I let out before looking at the door and walking toward the Energy Vessel while I heard him mumble "Thank you for my son."

'My tenderness for children will kill me one day' I thought as I had this inherent fatherly instinct ever since I met Kushina

I mean, all children I took under my wing have a peculiar childhood, one way or another.

Nevertheless, locating the bald man deeper inside the temple, I stealthily moved where he was and saw him doing some sort of incantation in front of the Energy Vessel, more precisely, he was unleashing the seal, some sort of holy chains containing the Tenseigan, which was an effort that cost one's life to be heavily shortened.

That's why I wasn't too pressured by his action, after all, why should I reduce my own life when someone I do not care about can do it?

I will just let him do the work and harvest the goods produced...

Looking at the Energy Vessel, it really was the pattern of the Tenseigan, though it was yellow instead of blue, and while it provided the Moon with light, at least inside of the dome, the area around us was completely dark, as if the Energy Vessel's light wasn't bright enough, though I believed it works this way to prevent the light from being too powerful and making it look suspicious when away from the Moon.

"Soon, soon the Earth shall be destroyed! As your celestial degree dictated, Hamura-sama!" the bald man said as he touched the place where all the chains were tied together, acting as a lock with his hands as the key

The moment the chains disappeared, I arrived behind him and laid my hand on his shoulder before saying "Thank you for your hard work, old man." as I sent a powerful lightning current within his body, making him convulse before falling on the ground, incapable of moving for several hours as the smell of fried meat was spreading around us

I then looked at the Energy Vessel which, no longer being restricted, started to go crazy as sparks destroyed the surrounding constructions before raising my hands toward it, voluntarily touching it, and forcefully gathering all energy rays it produced toward me as I began absorbing it.

Such a massive amount of energy filling my body was both amazing and excruciatingly painful, mostly around my eyes as I felt the shackles I had for so long slowly break down.

This Energy Vessel accumulated far more chakra than all the Tailed Beasts together, and thankfully, I could take it all in.

Once I absorbed everything, I closed my eyes and felt how my body was overflowing with energy, before opening them back as a cyan-colored chakra shroud was covering me.

Feeling something itchy on the top of my head, I raised my hand and was surprised to discover that two horns sprouted from it.

'Does this form makes me look more like an Ōtsutsuki?' I thought before creating a mirror to admire, I mean, look at myself

My hair was floating dangerously because of the energy surrounding me, and didn't raise above my head at all, simply making it seems like it had a will of its own.

On top of my head, there were truly two cyan-colored horns, but what truly surprised me was the strange halo floating above my head with six subtle Magatama markings, similar to my eyes' tomoe in terms of form but with a different religious meaning.

My eyes also recovered their shininess, the flower pattern that was hidden behind the circles and tomoe becoming more distinguished while the blue of my eyes felt like an ocean of stars constantly moving.

And by looking more closely, I noticed that my pupil was slightly different, recovering the pattern of my Eternal Mangekyô Sharingan, though considering the size of my pupil along with the luminous colors my eyes generated, it wasn't easily noticeable.

[Here, would love to give this image the SFX of the Tenseigan, it's such a beautiful Dōjutsu]

Whenever my eyes changed like this, my unique abilities granted by my Dōjutsu evolved, and it was once again the case, though I have yet to precisely know what changed.

Looking at my hands and at my current form which could be said to be the Tenseigan Chakra Mode, I suddenly had an idea and began to unleash my Sage Mode, granting me the same marking as before along with two perfect-looking black-feathered wings.

[Here, again, I don't have the talent to give the chakra cloak to this image]

'Damn, I feel like I could destroy anything with ease' I thought as the combination of my Sage Mode with the Tenseigan Chakra Mode wasn't simply granting me a double flat power-up but instead multiplying my overall abilities even further beyond

Where's the monkey tail when you need it... Oh, wrong universe.

"H...Help..." I heard someone mutter near my foot and realized that I hadn't killed the man yet so I laid my hand on him and used Suijin which made him scream in pain before going back to the entrance of the temple where the white-haired father and son duo were waiting for me

And as promised, Takano was still alive... Barely.

He was laying on the ground with his back against a pillar, his sleeping son resting on his legs while he gently brushed the boy's hair.

"So you absorbed the Tenseigan." Takano let out as I was still using the chakra mode and surely overwhelmed his senses

"That was my only purpose for coming here... And it is far better in my hand to be used against the Ōtsutsuki Clan instead of rotting here for ages or worse, being used to destroy the planet Hamura and Hagoromo wish to protect." I said as I moved towards the corpse of his fellow clansmen and absorbed them with Suijin which didn't surprise him

I then moved back toward him and muttered "Since you don't have much time left, let me do this." as I used Kunitokotachi which needed direct eye contact before but now I could use it on multiple people as long as they are in my line of sight and not too far away

I couldn't use it repetitively though.

"So." I let out as the three of us were swallowed by my technique and therefore temporarily healed that stubborn old man while his son was still asleep

"Why do you refuse to be healed?" I first asked since it was bugging me for a while now

Takano's mood slowly shifted to a more depressed tone as he looked at his hand while his body was shaking before closing them as he said "I have spilled too much blood... With my own hands, I killed dozens and dozens of clansmen, and for what? To one day get rid of humanity? It was a foolish ambition that half of us shared."

"And? In my opinion, you redeemed yourself by preventing, at least trying to prevent, them from successfully achieving what they were going to do." I said since the man in front of me killed four of his clansmen but for a righteous reason this time

"I... I can't agree with that." Takano let out before looking at his son "Our Clan's demise was deserved after what we have done, and the old generation I am part of shouldn't stay alive. But my son... He's still young and wasn't indoctrinated by our beliefs yet... I wish for him to continue living, but on Earth from now on, so he can make friends and see the wonderful places this planet has to offer."

He then looked at me and revealed "I... Have an ability that allows my soul to temporarily separate itself from my body, and this way, I was able to visit the Earth multiple time without anyone noticing."

This got my attention and I said "I see, so you got your change of heart by seeing how humans were by yourself?" though I believed that doing so would make him more eager to get rid of humanity considering humans' nature

"More specifically, I watched you." Takano said which gave me some shivers just by thinking that I had an invisible stalker before adding "And I know that you are fighting for everyone's survival."

"That's why I have a favor to ask of you." Takano exclaimed before kneeling and adding "Could you please take my son with you to Earth? And also... Make him forget about me and the tragedy that happened on the Moon... Please."

'Yep, he definitely noticed that I was kind to children' I thought before looking at his son and massaging my temples

I mean, I can't see myself leaving that boy alone on the Moon, so bringing him to Earth was obvious, but I expected the old man to be with him.

"...You don't even let your son express his consent? You're basically asking me to make him forget about his family." I said as I looked straight into the old man's closed eyes which he definitely sensed

"I believe that it is for the greater good." Takano replied which made me almost summon a hat, a pair of glasses, and a wand so he would be looking like a certain old man

"The greater good, uh? Well, I'm all about the greater good... Alright, I accept, but in exchange, I will tell everything to your son once he's twenty, unlocking the memories I will block today." I declared since it was ultimately something that his son should know about, soon being the last member of his Clan and not a simple orphan from Earth

"I guess... That's fair." Takano said before slowly getting up

"Oh right, what's your son's name? And age too." I asked since I didn't know that yet

"Toneri, Toneri Ōtsutsuki, and he's two years old, it's been three months now." Takano revealed which meant that he was one year younger than my son but also that he was as old as Hanabi Hyūga, the second daughter of Hiashi Hyūga who was born sooner than I remembered in the canon

"Toneri... Alright, I will take good care of him, I swear on my life." I exclaimed which made Takano reply "Thank you." with a smile adorning his face before looking at his son with some longing he couldn't hide from me

"Before I remove his memories, you can talk to him if you want, I will leave you two alone... Take your time." I said as I woke up his son and secluded myself away to let them have their final talk

Toneri will remember his last conversation with his father when I make him recover his memories, something that will allow him to take everything in more easily instead of me saying 'So your father was dying and I could've healed him but he refused, then I made you forget about him and kidnapped you'.

Nevertheless, after what could have been hours in the real world, I sensed Takano calling me, telling me that he finished talking with his son so I joined them and saw the boy sleeping again but the red tint around his eyes and the wettened garb of his father was enough to tell me how much he cried.

"So, you still want to die?" I asked in case he had a change of heart but he shook his head left and right so I added "Then I will send you away painlessly, any last word?"

"Please protect the Earth like we should have." Takano said which was a responsibility I pretty much couldn't refute considering how powerful I became

'Well, I'm only interested in my close ones' well-being, but to keep them safe I have to protect the planet so I guess I will' I thought as I couldn't tell him that and give him some disillusion before dying

I do want to unite the shinobi world to cease all meaningless conflicts that will continue to arise if nothing is done, and preferably not by becoming a tyrant...

"I will." I then declared with a smile before making him unconscious and suffer from a heart attack which didn't hurt him

I then removed the memories that Toneri had of the Moon, making him believe that he was an orphan from the Land of the Moon that I bought back with me after finding him unconscious and alone in the middle of the sea after a shipwreck.

The three of us, well, two being alive, then came back to the temple where I then absorbed Takano which granted me an eighth tomoe, which meant that I had a total of four more in each eye, but it was seemingly not enough to have any impact.

'Oh well, I already got something much more important' I thought as I stopped using the Tenseigan Chakra Mode as well as my Sage Mode before leaning myself toward the sleeping Toneri and began to princess-carry him

I would have liked to absorb the bones of those who died a long time ago, but unfortunately, this Clan didn't bury the dead and instead incinerated them before spreading their ashes on the Moon's surface.

Though before leaving, I moved toward their library where they kept scrolls containing their Clan's unique techniques, with the main one being the Tool Creation Technique which allowed them to create different kinds of tools and weapons by making their chakra malleable.

These weapons could be manipulated telekinetically, and they were tough enough to break, cut, and smash almost anything, my Crystal Release included.

This was a technique used by the Ōtsutsuki Clan, which, albeit descendants of Hamura, they ended up inheriting.

They also have a long-range communication technique by summoning a hologram of themselves to the desired location, called the Projection Technique, as well as a Kinjutsu that allowed them to create green orbs of chakra that had various purposes such as mind-controlling, rendering the target unconscious, absorbing their chakra, or simply making their body explode from within.

Though this last technique was extremely difficult to learn, in fact, none of those that were still alive before I arrived knew how to do it.

And lastly, I wanted to get their blueprints, and the related techniques, of the Autonomous Puppets, which were remotely controllable once you supplied them a portion of your chakra, leading them to behave as their supplier ordered them to.

They were relentless, capable of doing what they were tasked with until they are utterly destroyed, because if not, they will use chakra to automatically rebuild themselves.

"Ah, there it is." I let out as I began to yeet everything in a storage scroll without reading them for now

I think I also got the barrier technique they used to hide from the outside, something not truly useful to me but with a few tweaks left and right and it could become valuable.

I also found a large stock of non-active Autonomous Puppets below the library which might come in handy later.

"Alright, that should be it." I said out loud before moving toward the barrier's border, where I breached my way through

I then covered both Tenori and myself with chakra while creating a bubble of breathable air around his head before teleporting us directly in front of the gate.

With my newfound ability, I was almost sure that I could teleport the two of us directly to Earth without wasting as much chakra as before, but since Chizu, Jiraiya, and Shiromari were waiting for me at the gate on Earth, I prefer coming back from it.

'Well, boy, it's time for you to enjoy life on Earth' I thought as it was, in my opinion, depressing to live on the dark side of the Moon where it was cold and empty all year

And with that said, I began walking through the wormhole I came from, not without thinking about an explanation as to why I am bringing another child back home.

I think that this story will be finished in less than 15 chapters, partially because I start making chapters of 4k+ words, and I think I might keep this rate (my bottom line was 2k words, but I might up it to 3k).

Also, this story will have two years in January 2023, as such, I will do my utmost to finish it by then.
