Chapter 8: The Return
With Gilgamesh by his side, Enzo pointed at the Red Knight shadow (Eligor) with a distasteful face as a beam of light pierced it ([Kouga] - Medium Light/Bless damage to 1 foe), damaging it quite heavily.
Eligor attempted to retaliate by charging at Enzo, but he managed to swiftly evade the attack before assaulting Eligor with his fists and legs, defeating him in a few punches and kicks.
"W-What...?! This isn't how it was meant to go!" Shadow Kamoshida cried as he witnessed Enzo slowly walk towards him ominously, his loud steps filling the ears of every living being in the silent room, "Guards! Protect your king!" He ordered with a wave of his hand, running away pathetically as more shadows appeared, surrounding the group.
"KAMOSHIDA!" Enzo shouted, about to run after Shadow Kamoshida but not before being held back by both Ren and Ryuji who told him to calm down so they could fight the shadows surrounding them and escape, "Tch... whatever"
And so, Enzo, Ren and Morgana proceeded to defeat all the shadows around them which took a few minutes as Ryuji watched the battles with no means of assisting.
Though the battle was over, more footsteps could be heard approaching causing Morgana to shout, "Let's get out of here!" As the group scurried out of the castle.

"Haa... Hoo~!" Ryuji panted, wiping the sweat on his forehead with his hand, "I'm exhausted!" He exclaimed, his eyes looking up and down at Enzo's outfit, "But man, that outfit is seriously cool!" He complimented with a thumbs-up and smile.
"I'm jealous" Ren said with a nod, his voice monotone as always.
"Lookin' good... we should probably think of a name later. For now, though, I think it's time that you guys go back to the real world-" Morgana was about to carry on, but was cut off by an adrenaline-pumped Ryuji.
"Great! Let's go back-"
"Wait! I wasn't finished" Morgana cried, causing the three to look down at him with confused expressions, "I guided you guys as promised. So now it's your turn to cooperate with me!"
"Huh? Cooperate?" Ryuji questioned, unsure of what Morgana was getting at. To be honest, he just wanted to get out of here after being mentally exhausted from all those shadows.
"Don't you remember? I originally came here for an investigation... That's why we must delve deep into Mementos, and-"
"Yeah, no." Enzo cut off Morgana, something the cat should unfortunately get used to as he looked up at Enzo with a shocked expression, "I came here because I wanted to see if these two were telling the truth. And now I wanna stay to beat the living shit out of Kamoshida's shadow-or-whatever so I can get my revenge... I couldn't give two shits about you" He vented, releasing a loud exhale of breathe before rubbing the back of his head, "Sorry, that came off quite rude probably... What I mean is, I don't know about these two, but I don't see why I should help you with your personal stuff"
"B-But!" Morgana wanted to refute, his own personal desires wanting to be fulfilled as he felt the need to do so, "You're telling me you're not going to repay the hospitality I showed you guys?!" He asked, looking between the face's of all three of them.
"..." They stayed silent, causing Morgana's world to shatter as he fell to his knees dramatically, "It's because I'm a cat and not human, isn't it...?" He began to mutter to himself, causing the trio to look at him with some pity.
"Hey, Morgana" Ryuji approached him, crouching down as he put his hand on Morgana's shoulder, "Thanks for the help, really. You've got some guts, I'll give you that! It was nice seeing you again, but we should head back... see you later!" He finished with a wave as the three went back to the real world, leaving an angry Morgana by himself in the distorted world.

The three ended up returning to a small alley outside the school, Ren and Enzo's outfits returning back to their school uniform.
"Thank god we're back!" Ryuji cheered, stretching his arms with a yawn, "Is going to that world usually this tiring? I didn't even do anything compared to you guys"
"I'm all good" Enzo replied, looking at Ren to see him nod in agreement, "Seems it's just you, buddy" He said.
"Anyway! How about we go get some food, I'm starvin'!" Ryuij offered, "And while we do that, you can tell us about your past! I wanna know more about you, man" He said to Ren, who nodded and said, "Sure"
The two then looked at Enzo, kind of expecting him to say no after today's events. Much to their surprise, he said "...Alright. Some food would be nice" Before walking in front of them, "Well? We're getting food, aren't we? Get movin'!"
During their walk to Ogikubo, a ramen restaurant, Ryuji secretly whispered to Ren about what they'd do with Kamoshida and the volleyball students.
He told Ren that they should keep it a secret from Enzo, as he would definitely dislike the idea of wanting to sort out Kamoshida this way instead of personally handling it himself in a more violent way.
Ren agreed, thinking that he wouldn't like one of his new friends to end up in jail, a place which he managed to escape after the incident which put him on probation based off a false accusation.
After arriving at Ogikubo, the three conversated about some stuff regarding school and their personal lives, with Ren informing them about what happened to him which got him on probation regarding the 'assault' of the drunk man.
"Ahh~" Ryuji exhaled in ecstasy at the taste of the ramen he ate in seconds, rubbing his bloated belly "That shit's good" He then looked at Ren who barely touched his food, "But seriously, man! That really pisses me off, what happened to you. Adults are really pieces of shit that need to be dealt with!" He quietly exclaimed, not wanting to piss off the adults in the restaurant.
"It's fine" Ren replied as he watched Ryuji steal his food bit by bit in silence, "What... are you doing?" He asked.
"He's stealing your food that you haven't eaten" Enzo said, causing Ren to turn to him to see over 20 empty bowls stacked up on top of each other. Not only that, but Enzo was still eating another bowl while also taking some of Ren's food, "You should eat, food's good"
"Thanks... but I'm not that hungry" Ren replied with an awkward chuckle, shocked at the display.
"Say, Ren. Give us your phone number, ID number too!" Ryuji insisted, taking his phone out and pressing Ren's phone number into his, "Awesome! I'll make a group chat for us when we're home, sound good?" He asked.
"Sure" Ren and Enzo both replied, fine with the idea as it was bound to happen eventually.
A few more minutes of chatting went past, when Enzo finally stood up and resigned from the group, "I should get going, see you guys tomorrow" He waved goodbye and went straight home, deciding to not go to Ryozanpaku today.

Arriving home, Enzo jumped straight into his bed fully-clothed, his hands placed behind his head as he stared at the ceiling in thought.
'Today was fucking weird' He bluntly said in his mind, a small smirk appearing on his face slowly, 'But very... very nice...'
What he meant by that, it was a mix of many things. But the menacing smirk on his face gave one definite answer of why it was 'nice', and it may or may not have something to do with Kamoshida.
*Ding!* A ding came from his phone. Having an idea of what it was, Enzo looked at his phone to see a notification about a group chat having been made.
[Ryuji: Yo! Can you guys see this message?]
[Enzo/Ren: No]
[Ryuji: You guys so can! Anyway, see ya tommorrow]
A short and simple interaction, common when it came to guys.
After putting his phone down, Enzo stood up and took off his clothes before getting back into bed and deciding to sleep after eating a midnight snack.
The next day came, with a volleyball rally taking place today. Unsurprisingly, Enzo chose to skip and chill on the rooftop.
"Uwahhh..." He gave a loud yawn, stretching hard enough to the point he fell back on his chair and hit his head on the ground, "Ow" He said, mainly for effect purposes as it didn't actually hurt.
"That doesn't look like it hurt, Akamatsu" Hearing a familiar feminine voice, Enzo looked to the door to the rooftop to see Makoto Nijima approaching him with her arms crossed.
He slowly lifted himself up off of the ground and looked down at her with a frown once she arrived quite close in front of him, "Whaddya want this time?" He asked with a groan.
"Nothing really, just making sure you're not up to anything... troublesome" She replied with a sly smile, her intentions unclear to Enzo who watched as she stepped forward, urging him to step back every time she took a step forward until
*Thud* He felt his back being pressed against the metal fence surrounding the rooftop. He looked down to see Makoto wrap his school tie around her hand before pulling it, causing his face to go down towards hers.
With a taken back expression, he stayed still as Makoto brought her lips to his ear, "This is payback for last time, Akamatsu" With that, she pushed him back before walking back with a spring in her step as she looked at him with a smile, "I'll see you later, goodbye" She waved, leaving Enzo stunned.
He couldn't help but look at her back as he watched her figure leave the rooftop, 'Damn...' He couldn't help but grin a little.
"Uh... what'd I miss?" A familiar orange-haired boy asked with a curious gaze as he entered the rooftop, three other people entering behind him shortly after causing Enzo to shake his head and snap back to reality.
"Ichigo?" Enzo raised a brow at the familiar orange-haired, "What're you doin' here? And who're these guys?" He asked, examining the guys with Ichigo.
"This is Chad-" Ichigo pointed to a tall, muscular dark-skinned man with pronounced cheek-bones and wavy brown hair with bangs that hung over his brown eyes.
"-Keigo" He then pointed to the boy with medium-long brown hair, brown eyes and a slim figure.
-And Mizuiro" Finally, he pointed to the boy with short black hair and green eyes, "And our spot got taken, so we decided to check out the rooftop... you mind?" He asked.
"Huh? It's not lunch already, is it?" Enzo exclaimed in shock before taking his phone out to see it was, in fact, the start of lunch now, "Damn..."
"Oi, Ichigo!" Keigo grabbed Ichigo and brought his face to his with a scared expression, "Ain't that THE Enzo Akamatsu?! Are you trying to get us killed?!" He cried worriedly.
"Huh??" Ichigo pushed Keigo away lightly before correcting, "Enzo's a chill dude. Though, he might take some of your food. 'Enzo tax' he calls it"
After half of lunch or so had passed, with Enzo chatting with Ichigo and the others, Ryuji and Ren still hadn't arrived at the rooftop which surprised him. He sent them a message on the group chat, when suddenly Ryuji kicked the door open to the rooftop with an angry expression
"FUCK!" He shouted, before widening his eyes as there were new arrivals on the rooftop, "Uh... Hello?"
"Hello" Ren came from behind, greeting them kindly.
"What happened?" Enzo asked as they walked up to their seats and sat around their table (Ichigo and the others liked the idea of sitting on the rooftop, so they went down and took a desk and a few chairs of their own and set it up next to Enzo's table)
"Just...!" Ryuji wanted to answer, but took a peek at Ichigo and the others sitting there so he let out a sigh before saying, "I'll tell you later" He then looked around and finally asked, "So... who are these guys, exactly? Not to be rude or anything"
"Ichigo, Chad - though his actual name is Yasutora Sado - Keigo, and Mizuiro" Enzo introduced them to Ren and Ryuji, "This is Ryuji and Ren" He then did the reverse.
And so, for the remainder of lunch, the two friend groups got along and felt their group slowly turning into one. Unfortunately, the bell eventually rang which meant lunch was over and they had to return to their classrooms. But not before they all exchanged numbers with one another.

A/N: I'm gonna try speed up the story a little, which is why things may seem a little rushed. The reason why is because, obviously, all these diff anime crossovers means that I've gotta focus on all their storylines and make a story where it all works, so yeah.
