Chapter 18- Unsealing their Cultivation bases
He then headed over to Brother Ping and asked, "Brother Ping, what are you making this time?" Liao Ping replied, "I am going to make some sauteed vegetables alongside some grilled fish." Xu Huo went over to Auntie-Master Ruogang and Elder Tyrant and sat down. "Why did you not reconcile with the girl you brought?" asked Auntie-Master Ruogang. He had nothing to retort, so he waited quietly for his master to punish him for leaving his hut without reconciling with Daoist Xinya. "You'll go back and reconcile with her until her master shows up," said Auntie-Master Ruogang. He nodded his head whilst putting the bowl of food on the table before saying, "Liao Ping gave this to me to give you a sample of his cooking whilst he cooks for you and Elder Tyrant," he then left the table and was about to leave when Liao Ping asked him to come over.
He came over and was told that he should go invite Xinya as well if he's going back, he replied, "Brother Ping, please tell me you didn't just say that!" Liao Ping then replied, "I just did and I'll repeat it, can you go and invite Daoist Xinya to the Red Pavilion," "She's sleeping! I can't just try to wake her up!" Xu Huo said. "Just try, if it doesn't work then I'll apologize to her," he said. When Xu Huo heard that, even though he wasn't willing he still went back and tried to think of ways to convince Daoist Xinya to get up from his bed.
He then thought of their earlier conversation when she asked if his master would unseal her cultivation base. He thought about it and told Liao Ping of his idea before going back to his hut. Liao Ping suggested to Auntie-Master Ruogang that if she unsealed Xu Huo's and Yao Xinya's cultivation bases then he'll help her with two things when he's strong enough. Even though she doesn't want to take the risk, she agreed only after Elder Tyrant asked Disciple Ping to swear with the Heavenly Dao as his witness.
He swore that when he's a Void Cultivator, he'll help complete two requests of Auntie-Master Ruogang. He continued cooking until he saw Xu Huo running with Daoist Xinya in tow who was getting tired and had fiery eyes directed at Xu Huo. 'I wonder how he got her up from her sleep? Wait, why did she go to sleep in the first place? I'll have to ask him how later when it's just me and him' thought Liao Ping as he continued sauteing the vegetables. Xu Huo ran and hid behind his master whilst peeking over her shoulder to see Daoist Xinya giving him the death stare.
Elder Tyrant watched this all happen with an amused expression after inquiring about the situation from Ruogang. 'How wonderful it is to see young people expressing their love,' thought Elder Tyrant.
"I'm really sorry for waking you up but what I wanted to tell you was that my master will unseal our cultivation as long as we're both willing to reconcile with one another!" said Xu Huo. She stopped looking at him and started thinking for a bit until she was tapped on the shoulder by the idiot's friend how then moved to the table and started setting things down. She watched as he brought the food he cooked over and started plating.
The aroma was quite nice to smell and looked appetizing. She saw him gesture towards herself to take a seat and she only did so after being unable to resist having some more tasty food. Xu Huo sat down next to Liao Ping who was in between himself and Daoist Xinya. They ate quietly for a while until Elder Tyrant asked, "So, how are you juniors doing in your cultivation?" Liao Ping was the first to reply with, "I have achieved golden core and have consolidated my base already, Daoist Xinya, Brother Huo, would you two like for me to paint a painting of you two?" Xu Huo replied, "No, and are you trying to get me into trouble, Brother Ping!?" "... Is my cultivation base going to be unsealed, or were you just lying?" asked Daoist Xinya.
Xu Huo wanted to say that he didn't know and just trusted his friend's word. Liao Ping replied to her question, "Both of your cultivation bases will be unsealed by Auntie-Master Ruogang as long as you two make up with each other," Daoist Xinya wanted to ask him to clarify himself, but Elder Tyrant said, "Ruogang will unseal your cultivation bases as long as you two make up," they both looked at each other with different thoughts such as 'You want me to make up with this idiot?', 'You want me to die faster as well!' and 'Is there a catch to this?'.
They were staring at each other, one was looking the other up and down, whilst the other just glared at the other. "So, what I said about you two developing feelings, no, a relationship it was true wasn't it?" asked Liao Ping. "We're not in a relationship! There is nothing between us!" yelled Daoist Xinya. "She's right, Brother Ping, nothing is going on between us," said Xu Huo. Liao ping doubted that but decided to trust him since a relationship couldn't have sprouted that quickly when they were together unless it's Auntie-Master Ruogang's objective to help her disciple with his walled-off heart.
Liao Ping watched as they reconciled with each other over their ambiguous interactions and apologized to each other about certain things like her sneak attack or his action of bringing her to his hut. He noticed that they had less vigilance towards each other but were still giving each other glances as though the other person would try to do something to them.
As he was taking the plates and putting them away, Auntie-Master Ruogang said, "Disciple Ping, your dishes were really appetizing! When you visit next time, make sure you cook some food for me before you go!" He nodded at Auntie-Master Ruogang's behest. Eventually, Liao Ping and Elder Tyrant left Crimson Dragon Peak while Xu Huo, Daoist Xinya, Auntie-Master Ruogang went to the Sect Master to handle the situation they've been disregarding.
