Around the destroyed lab are two people fighting a man and a giant dog.

Meelis is currently fighting against the Cebereon of Zeldris, the giant brown dog, who looks like a pug incredibly heavy and big. Every time Meelis gets close it swipes it's paws at him.

The ground trembles under the weight of the Cebereon, its red eyes staring fierce at Meelis as it tries to land a blow on him, Meelis' body is surrounded by a red aura as he zooms past the fireballs that the dog can apparently spit out of it's mouth.

Meelis was slightly regretting his choices right now, he regretted not learning some long-range technique like senjutsu or at least make a Kamehameha, since without it he cannot get close enough to the Cebereon before it backs away from his attack range and throws another fireball at him, because of this he and the dog are at a stalemate, neither able to land a blow.

Kuroka is pretty much in the same situation too, despite being made a servant of Zeldris via a Bishop piece, effectively enhancing her magic, or in her case senjutsu, Kuroka is still not strong enough to fight and win against her master.

As for Grayfia, she froze the scientist dad of Kuroka and Shirone(Koneko) up to his neck and is currently just guarding the very traumatized nekoshou.

Meelis, getting frustrated that his first fight ended up in a stalemate, simply because of his lack of experience and his cockiness at fighting the stronger foe, using Shadow Clones was not an option since his limited Demonic Power only allowed him to create one clone at a time and wasting it on a clone only for it to die in one hit would be worthless, so decided to raise his power instead since he could not think of a better way to deal with the Cebereon with his current skills and experience.

With his limited Demonic Power, skills, and experience, the longer the fight lasts the worse it'll be for him.

"Kaio-ken x 3" immediately, he felt the insane recoil from the massive bulk up his body went through to adjust for the increase in strength, ripping his shirt to reveal his forming muscles under the immense strain. The only reason that Meelis' body can even hold on to the strain of a Kaio-ken x 3

Jumping full force, he reached the Cebereon's face and punched through one of it's eyes, then as the Cebereon tossed around in pain, Meelis held on to what remains of the eye to not fall off and charged up his Demonic Power and shaped it into a Spike and shot it into the Cebereon's grey matter, effectively ending it.

'Looks like Meelis-sama realized his mistake and ended the battle quickly while he could, he did great, except for inserting his whole arm into the hound's eyeball, despite the display of gruesomeness, he did good enough for his first actual battle, is this why Sirzechs let him come along and sent me with him?' Grayfia wondered in her mind as she assessed Meelis.

'As for that girl, her talent is definitely remarkable, even while being a reincarnated devil, her strength is pretty high for her age, she could definitely qualify as a Queen with the talent she is displayed, both for battle and for skill.'

As Grayfia observed, Kuroka was actually doing well in her fight against her master, despite not landing any blows. The reason for this is that Zeldris kept dodging or blocking blows by making shield spells

Kuroka kept firing Senjutsu fireballs at Zeldris and kept him on his toes as she would sometimes predict his movements by using her senjutsu to since his Life Force.

Suddenly, Zeldris' face turned red in anger as he sensed the death of his Cebereon and screamed, "How dare you mongrels kill my Cebereon!"

"You know what, fine, I was going easy on you cat since I did not want to harm your materials to much, now I'll just kill you, I'll make do with your remains and just use your sister instead." Zeldris stated with an angry face as he raised his hand at Kuroka and released a spell.

Swiftly, a red light started emanating out of Kuroka's chest.

'Oh shit, I forgot she was his Bishop.' Meelis immediately figured out what was about to happen.

Because of the way evil Pieces work and how most of the devils mistreat their peerage members, a lot of them ran away and became fugitives for devil Society. In order to punish said devils, the Evil Pieces are set to genetically corrupt the reincarnated devils until they turn into Cronenberg-esque monsters with little rationale and lots of hunger for flesh, affectionately called Stray Devils.

Meelis forgot Kuroka was already under a peerage as he saw her fighting and just assumed she was not under any peerage just yet, now Kuroka will pay the price if he does not hurry.

"Guah…ughh." Kuroka grunted in pain as she tried to fight the alterations by the Evil Piece.

"Good cat, maybe this way you'll finally be useful and fulfill your final order from your master, go rampage, attack everyone."

Zeldris smiled sadistically as he watched Kuroka grunt in pain.

"Onee-san." Shirone, finally getting some of her mental capacities back, saw her sister in pain and stood up to help her when Grayfia suddenly grabbed her by the arm and did not let her go.

"Don't go, you'll only hold them back if you." Grayfia stated with her usual cool maid persona.

Shirone tried to counter "But-." Only to be interrupted by Grayfia again, "No buts, she'll be fine just look."

The moment Meelis realized what was going on he put all his cards on the table.

Using his life magic, Meelis made a giant plant whose roots dug underground to reach and capture Zeldris, catching him off guard.

"W-what, what's with this plant." Zeldris caught off guard, focused his attention on the plant and tried freeing himself, but did not notice the flaming red aura rapidly approaching him.

"Kaio-ken x 4" instantly, Meelis' strength multiplied by several levels and punched Zeldris right in the throat with enough strength to break his neck on contact. Similarly, Zeldris' neck was not the only thing broken, Meelis' legs, arm, and fingers were all broken under the stress of a Kaio-ken x 4 which his body was both not fit to withstand or practiced enough to use, this was not even including all the ripped muscle fibers from the extreme expansion in mass, if there was any caveat it was that at least he did not cripple himself permanently.

As Zeldris fell, Meelis so too fell as he was mostly broken from his own moves. As he laid on the ground suffering from the excruciating pain of having multiple broken bones, Meelis' watched on as Kuroka's grunts of pain died down since Zeldris died before completing the Stray Devil punishment spell and the red light receded from her chest.

{Author: the stray devil punishment spell is my own little detail of how one becomes a stray, since in cannon it was well elaborated other than betraying their master, something which kiba did in cannon since he refused rias' orders and left them for a while, but did not turn into a stray at all}

Those were Meelis' last moments before blacking out from the pain.
