SLAM!!!

" I'M BACK, BITCH!!!"

" AAAAH WHAT THE FUCK?!! GOD!!! You scared me!!!"

" Well, hope some bags of chips could make it up to you."

" Oh, brother. You just know me too well."

" What can I say, you're too readable for me."

" What do you mean?!"

" Moving on! I have something important to tell you, MC." M/n changed the subject, throwing a bag of chips to his sister as he settled down on his bed.

" What?" she questioned, reaching for a chip.

" Remember our bro?" M/n straight up asked.

" Disappeared a few years back?" she confirms with her brother as she tilted her head slightly to her right.

" Yeah."

" What about him?" she asked, munching a potato chips right after.

" He's back."

" Nooooo." she dramatically gasped.

" Yes."

" Wait, really?!"

He nodded, stuffing a chip into his mouth.

" Huh. So why are you telling me this?"

" Watch over him for me, will you?"

" Noooooo~!" she automatically whined as her shoulder dropped south.

" Please, you know he only listen to you when I can't be there."

" Hmm~! Fine~! But you better compensate me for this!" she whined, agreeing reluctantly as she demanded for a compensation.

" I will, pinky promise."

The human siblings hooked their fingers, making an oath not to be broken even if it looked childish. The swear it bear was a heavy one, taught to them since childhood. With the deal seared into their hearts, they let go of the measly yet meaningful gestures, allowing the younger one to finally ask.

" Anyways, what happened this time?"

" So that's what happened this time."

" How come you always have extreme things going on?! You have quite the adventure too along the way!"

" Wanna switch lives then?"

" No thanks, I'm just that lazy that my life is already quite taxing."

" Thought so."

" But honestly, he's quite the character, that's for sure."

" That's the reason why-"

Suddenly the door was knocked, surprising both of them from their earlier conversation. Both turned at the door before looking at each other again. The male decided to respond to the unknown guest.

" Yes?"

" Just checking if you're asleep yet or not. It's bedtime and we got school tomorrow."

' Ah, it's Lucifer.' was painted on their faces.

" Right. Thanks for reminding us. Goodnight!"

" You're welcome. Goodnight."

They heard footsteps fading away into the hallway as they stare at the door.

" Damn, that surprised me..."

" Yeah... So, back to what we were saying, are you going to tell them about it?"

" No... Let's just say, I prefer they discover about it themselves."

" Understandable. I'll be there to support you."

" Thanks, MC. It means a lot."

" Don't sweat it, bro! We've been together for literally most of our lives!"

Mammon waited at the lobby, scrolling through his D.D.D without really focusing on it. He's nervous, that's for sure.

The signs?

Fiddling with his fingers, tramping across the area in a frenzied manner, eyes darting to the stairs every once in a while, you name it.

The cause of it all?

He's going on a date. With MC. Most of all, they're just gonna be alone on this trip, no interruptions by his nosy brothers. He even made sure to put some effort in his outfit.

The tanned demon wore a white undershirt along with a nice pair of jeans, no holes on any of them. He also put on a black leather jacket and a cream coloured sneakers. Instead of his favourite orange tinted sunglasses, he hung a normal, black one on the neck of his shirt. His hair was slicked back by using some hair gel he didn't remember he had until today.

Just as his anxiousness was about to take a turn for the worse, he heard steps going down the stairs. When he turned to face the person, he was mesmerized.

MC had donned a baby pink t-shirt tucked into a long black skirt. Her hair is put up into a long ponytail cascading through her back, showing off her slim neck. Her makeup was light, enhancing her natural beauty. A small backpack to complement her outfit.

" Hey, Mammon! Hope I wasn't too late. Did you wait long?" Her soothing voice graced his ears, waking him up from his out of devildom experience.

" Uh... No! Not at all! U-um... Y-You look d-different. A good different!" He stuttered out, getting all flustered as he wipe those sweaty hands on his jeans.

" Thanks! I tried to put more effort in how I look today. You.. don't seem like yourself today." she replied, looking at him up and down.

" W-Well, I-I tried to change my looks. Was it bad?"

" Not really... But do you mind if I give you a little touch-up?"

Anxious, Mammon just nodded, overthinking how bad he had done with the outfit he chose today.

He close his eyes, not wanting to see all the things he'd done wrong.

His senses alerted him, feeling the hand tousling with his hair as some of his white strands got slightly tugged from the action. The calming gesture helped him to settle down his frantic heart. When the hand finally left his hair, he just braced himself for the next thing she's gonna fix.

" Done! Now you look like The Mammon I know!" she said, tapping the back of her hand to his torso. She looked really satisfied with how his hair was now partly tousled, adding more playful vibe to his aura.

" Huh... I thought there's more to fix..." he responded in disbelief.

" Well, like I said, your looks earlier doesn't seem like you. I never said anything about fixing it. You're already charming just the way you are... Except for the money handling part." She chuckled as she mentioned the last part.

He smirked despite her words, admiring her smile as they stand there.

Really, how could he not fall for her?

She made everything better despite the rough start they had with their friendship. All his life, his bad habits have been cursed by everyone else and yet, she managed to make it something that wasn't bothering her. Even his family complains how it became a burden, but she tries to come up with a solution for him.

She has only been with him for a speck of his entire life, yet it has been the bestest part of life he has ever lived.

" Oh really? Well then, I guess you're quite aggressive for a girl!"

" What is that supposed to mean?!!" she retorted, smacking him on his back.

" Ow!!! You know that only proves my point, right? Ow!!!"

" Whatever! Let's just go!" she huffed, dragging his arm and head out of the door together with Mammon chuckling behind her.

" Huh, there's quite a few demons around. The festival isn't gonna start until 9, right?"

" That's because most of the interesting and rare cuisines are sold earlier. Wanna get some grubs before anything?" Mammon answered, holding out his hand as he was ready to guide her around.

" Of course!!!" she enthusiastically replied, taking his hands as her eyes glistened in glee.

They headed from stall to stall, buying every food that graced their sight. At one point, as they were downing all the snacks bought, an Akuber staff came up to them.

" Sir Mammon? I've got a delivery for you. Two Arctic Ice Cream for you and your date."

Mammon was confused, but he acted nonchalant about the sudden order he didn't make. Seeing how excited MC is at the sight of the desserts, he just pretended that did buy it for her.

" Sure. How much do I need to pay?"

" Oh, no worries. You already paid earlier via online transaction. Here's a little thank you letter for using our service. Have a great day!"

After handing a small, folded piece of letter, the staff tilted his cap before he assimilated with the crowd. Mammon had question marks all over his face as he decided to read the letter.

' Good luck with the date! I'm rooting for you guys! But make my sister cry and you're a done deal, dude!'

The letter was signed by M/n, the person he least expected to support their relationship. Don't get him wrong, M/n is a nice guy. But, don't brothers get overprotective over their siblings when it comes to relationship, especially if it's their sisters?

Though, getting his approval was a big boost to his confidence in confessing to her today.

Yes, he was contemplating wether he should tell her about his feelings today, and M/n just gave him the push he needed.

With that train of thoughts, he grinned as he folded the letter and stuffed it into his pocket. Noticing his gleeful expression, MC asked Mammon right away.

" What happened? Why are you grinning like an idiot?"

" It's nothing. What, you want to add being a busybody to the list?"

" Ugh, how dare you! Shouldn't positive things be shared together?"

" And you should try obeying The Great Mammon's order for once."

" Whatever! I don't want to know about it anyways!"

They were strolling along the busy streets as the announcement reminding all the demons to clear the vicinity of the parade route to avoid any casualties rang through the area via speakers. They were admiring the scenery and colourful lights shining the area until both of their D.D.D rings like crazy from all the messages coming in. They both look at each other before Mammon decided to fish his D.D.D out of the pocket.

Both stared leisurely at the messages coming in until Levi's chat bubble alerted them. Once he read all of it, Mammon glanced at his date, worried for her as he saw the pale face she had.

Without any warning, she turned on her heels, leaving Mammon behind. Her mind was full with her fret for her only family left in her life. She really can't lose him when they're just reunited again.

Panting heavily as she break through the crowd, she make her way to the only place that occupies her line of thought.

House of Lamentations.

" MC! Wait for me!"

" We don't have much time, Mammon! My brother got injured again and I just can't lose him! Not after everyone I had lost! We need to pick up the pace!"

Just as she rambled those words dripping with anxiety, Mammon latch his hand to her wrist, making her stop in her tracks for a while.

" I know... But.. you have.. to wait for.. me too... I don't think M/n would like the idea of her sister getting injured while he's unconscious." Mammon reasoned with the panicked girl, catching his breathe. She paused.

" Please, you need to take care of your safety too. Not just for him, for me too, for everyone else who cherished you." he continued, rubbing circles at her wrist using his thumb. He kinda learn that gesture from the time he saw M/n with MC ever since he stayed with them. Feeling that at least it's one of the good traits he can pick up for his crush, who knew it would be of use at times like this?

He immediately hugged her, allowing her to take deep breaths before letting her go once her breathing evens. He squeezed her hand tightly, staring at her straight in her eyes.

" Are you calmer?"

" Yeah."

" Alright. Let's go."
