Heavenly rain, once upon hundred years the human realm was gifted with a great shower of spiritual energy. All heavenly creatures and cultivators drench in it to increase their cultivation. With his shell wide open, he was waiting for the heavenly water to drip in. “Eh, why is it so coppery.... is my drop of heavenly rain so special?!” Qu wren happily swam back in. Two months later, holding his bloated stomach, he rushed to a healer clam. “You are pregnant with a little pearl,” the clam shouted in glee. “B—but... I was only drenched in heavenly rain,” Qu wren stuttered. “Oh, the heavens have blessed us. This is a holy blessing of one of the heavenly beasts. Such an auspicious event,” the clam happily jumped around spreading news of his pregnancy. “Then who is the father of my pearl?” And so the little oyster left his ocean in search for his baby daddy. Chapter 57 - What if?

Qu Wren silently let him drag him out the house. The feeling of his soft hands on his wrist made him shiver and tingle a bit. Holding back his expression, he maintained a fearful one and whispered, "Saviour, you are here,"

"Yeah..... you are really silly, you know that," Feng glanced back with a soft frown. Hs grip tightened, and he dragged him to the nearby hay room that was still untouched by fire. He banged the door close and latched it with a huge slab of wood.

Only then did he let out a breath of relief.

"What were you thinking...." he whispered, gazing at the ground. "You could have died or worse, been assaulted by that pig! What were you thinking coming here? Humans are not to be trusted, they..."

Wren tilted his head a little. "i.."

Mian turned over and tightly gripped his lapels. "Coming in here was a big mistake! This village is no place for a naïve beast like you. If you had been left alone, you would have been badly hurt!!!"

"I was only here to find my friend." Wren whispered softly.

"Friend? You would sacrifice yourself for that guy? Is he that important to you that your own safety?" Feng Mian peered intently into his eyes. The oyster's eye remained unwavering.

"Yes, because he would do the same for me. We might not share the same blood but we are friends, brothers and each other's comfort." Wren's eyes slowly teared up. White crystalline tear dipped down forming a small pearl. "He gave up his safety to come to land for me. He gave up his comfort to be there for me during my rough times."

He wiped his tears away swiftly. "If I myself am in danger, then he might be in a grave situation. He is very kind and will fall for tricks easily. What would have happened to him being left all alone in this place...."

Wren lowered his head, sobbing softly. "I just want him to be safe, that's all."

"I'm sorry..." Feng Mian hugged him tightly, patting his trembling back. "Don't cry.... you look ugly..."

In fact, seeing him reduced to tear hurt him more that the betrayal the human did to them. He just wanted to keep this naïve little oyster safe within his reach, away from all dangers.

Wren nuzzled into his shoulders.

"Shh... don't cry so much. How can a grown man cry for every little thing?..."

"I am only hundred years old. A baby in oyster terms...." Wren mumbled, gripping his waist tightly.

Feng Mian flinched. "Okay.... I think it's time we left..." he tried pulling away, but the guy had a firm grip on him. As he was trying to get out of the hug, he noticed the small collar on his neck. "Fuck those annoying bastards cuffed you!"

He pushed Wren away from the hug and pulled at the collar. It absorbers all the spiritual power of the wearer and renders them powerless. "How dare they? I think burning them to death was a soft punishment..." he slid his finger in the small gap and burned the collar off.

It left behind red circular mark on his skin. He gently caressed it.

"It's nothing..." Wren hid his mark with a hand.

"What is this.." Feng Mian gripped his wrist and pulled it close to his face. There was a flushed red mark on his wrist left behind by the coarse ropes they used to tie him up with. He was enraged..

The fire he was controlling burned up swiftly.

"It's really nothing.." Wren gently caught his face and kissed his cheeks. "They did not hurt me at all. I escaped before they could."

"What if?"

Wren pinched his lips together. "There is no time for what ifs. It's all in the past all I care about is the future...." he gently kissed his lips. "Thank you so much for being there for me. I have never been so happy to be in one's company before."

Feng Mian blushed red. "Stop making it awkward. I'm not doing it for you..."

"Oh, then my saviour is very magnanimous... I bet you have saved many.." Wren's deep eyes went dark for a second. He gripped his waist and pulled him close to his body and caged him with his arms. "Did you do the same with everyone you saved?"

"WH—what... what do you mean.." Mian turned his face to the side, avoiding his burning gaze.

Wren gripped his chin and made him face him. "Did you kiss them too?... did you touch them as you did me?"

"No! Why the hell would I go touching strangers, huh! You are so stupid. Let go of me..." Feng Mian glared at him intently.

Suddenly, Qu Wren smiled widely. "So I'm not a stranger..... Then who am I to you, my beautiful saviour? No..... what am I to you?" he whispered close to his ear.

Feng Mian instantly went burning red. He pushed him away and ran out of the barn as quickly as he could. 'Darn.... this is bad.... very bad... I can't fall for him!.....'
