Liu Xiaolan ignored the useless talk from the Liu family and turned her attention towards Mu Yuchen. "Little fool, what happened?"

Mu Yuchen ran towards Liu Xiaolan and said, "Lady, these people came here and wanted to steal Lady's things. Lady asked me to take care of the house, so I didn't let them get inside…"

Ren Lanfeng came out of the group of people together with 2 older grandpas. One of them was his father, commonly called as Elder Ren in the village, since he was the previous village head.

The other older person was Zuo Xinghe's father, Zuo Chang, also called as Elder Zuo. Although he didn't have any official position in the village, he was a hunter for most of his life. Thanks to that he could help villagers in identifying many common things, and at the same time years back he was the first person to predict a flood.

Thanks to his timeful warning other villagers had enough time to take their possessions and walk to the mountains to get to an upper ground, saving many lives.

Now that even the Elders were alarmed, Grandma Liu knew it was serious. "Village head Ren, Elders, it's just that my Liu family was walking past here and noticed that Liu Xiaolan was keeping a wild man…"

Liu Xiaolan's face turned cold and she quickly stopped her from talking. "Grandma Liu, isn't your face hurting from all these lies? As soon as Ren Lanfeng heard some of the inside story from Liu Xiaolan's words, he turned towards the Liu family and asked, "Yan Rusheng, you've walked past her home? Who are you kidding, Liu Xiaolan's home is on the edge of the village, nowhere near your fields. And somehow you've not only passed by her house, but also caught her with a wild man?"

Grandma Liu rudely answered, "Village head, what do you mean? Who said I couldn't walk around the village itself? There are no rules saying that, if I wanted to, I could even walk on the mountains and it's none of anyone's business."

Shen Meijing saw that Grandma Liu was forgetting the point and quickly added, "Village head, Elders, the most important thing is not why we were passing by Liu Xiaolan's home, but the fact that we caught her together with an unknown man. She's losing the reputation of our whole village…"

"Exactly, Village head, you can't be partial, you should preside over the matter in front of everyone! What if news travels to nearby villages? Won't we lose all the face of Liuojia Village? I say we should quickly kill the girl and get it over with…" Grandma Liu said with anger.

Liu Xiaolan finally couldn't hold her emotions. Even if she wasn't the original soul, she did have the memories of this body. Now hearing her biological grandmother quarrelling to get her killed, she rushed to her and slapped her face.

"Close your dirty mouth or I'll slap you again. Saying that I'm keeping a wild man all the time and asking the elders to put me to death, am I truly your biological granddaughter?" Liu Xiaolan shouted, her face turned red.

Grandma Liu held her face with her hand. She looked towards the villagers and pointed her other hand at Liu Xiaolan, saying: "Look, I've already said that we should get rid of this nemesis as soon as possible. I'm her elder, yet she dares to slap me and fight against me. Elders, you should give me justice!"

"Hah, you're my elder? Since when did I become a part of the Liu family again? All I can remember was the fact that you've kicked me out of the Liu family and crossed out my name from the family's tree. Now you're saying that you're my elder? On what basis?" Liu Xiaolan rebuked her.

Grandma Liu was anxious to clarify when she heard her words. While she might not care about it herself, Liu family's reputation must be kept clean. Otherwise, what if it would become an obstacle in the road of becoming an official by her grandsons?

Yan Rusheng quickly tried to clarify, "So what if I kicked you out of the Liu family? It doesn't change the fact that you've got my blood inside of you, and the house you're living in came from our Liu family as well…"
