Chapter 36
Lucy would return. I knew she would. There was no way on earth that she would ever leave me alone in a town I didn’t know. Especially if that town housed both Llaluna and some guy she obviously knew was trouble. Even when I heard her car spinning and revving away, I knew she would be back before long. I just needed to wait this one out. She would message me soon, telling me that she was on her way back and that she was sorry for leaving without me. Maybe then I would give in and go with her, making her promise that we would come back as soon as possible so that I could face my demons yet again.
“Anything else?” Timothy looked nervous this time. He must’ve seen or overheard what was going on between me and Lucy.
“Another coffee,” I said, pointing towards my cup. “And is there anywhere I could maybe charge my phone a bit? The battery died and I don’t know anyone here. I might need to make a call or get onto the internet soon.”
