“See what’s playing at the Majestic tonight,” Christophe ordered him, happily.

Joe flipped through the paper, but on the third page, his eyes caught the word Linhart. “Wait,” he said, as if he wasn’t the one turning the pages. “They’re talking about the Icebox.”

Christophe stop eating and grabbed the paper. “Riots at Linhart prison.” He looked at Joe. “Warden Eugene Cook was assassinated!”

“Gimme that.”

Limply, Christophe handed Joe the paper.

Joe read the small article quickly, avidly, his pulse racing along with his eyes. There was only a few lines there. Linhart had been exposed. The ties with the Vascali brothers and Murphy Aluminum, had all been brought to light. It seemed Victor Vascali had been singing. Guards had quit and ran back to the city with their tails between their legs. The prison had been overtaken by the inmates. Cook had been killed in the riots. Twenty-two inmates were dead. Seventy injured. One man was still at large.

That was it. That was all there was.
