Chapter 18: Lookalike

I don't own solo leveling or Jujutsu Kaisen

...

"I won't be able to move on any further without recovering my stamina."

...

It was the very next day within the bustling streets of downtown Seoul. Kim Bora stood up on the roof of his apartment complex. He was wearing a plain white shirt and black and blue slacks with all white sneakers on. It was a quiet place up there with a view of most the city. Noticing some of his fringes flying into his face, he gripped a strand of hair and thought that maybe getting a haircut soon wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Breaking the crystal allows a person to view memories stored within the crystal.]

.

It was the reward he'd gotten for completing the enemies quest in the instant dungeon yesterday. It was a beautiful star shaped crystal that glowed a bright white color. Their were actually two of these so that meant there two different memories in this crystals, but the burning question still remained. Who's memories were they?

"Well, only one way to find out."

He clenched his fist crushing the crystal into dust, but nothing happened for a good few moments. 'Did I not break it right?' he wondered to himself before the dust particles flew up into his eyes without warning. He closed his eyes in surprise not expecting that to happen, furiously rubbing the dust out of his eyes the entire time. However, he stopped once he realized there was no pain.

Slowing opening them was greeted to a still downtown Seoul. There was no motion, no wind and no sound as if time had stopped.

"What's going on?" Kim murmured, a nervous tone in his voice.

"Yo! Long time no see!" he heard a voice behind him, it sounded raspy like this person had just finished running a marathon. Kim turned around and was shocked beyond words to see what looked to be himself staring holes right into him, although younger than he remembered.

The scenery suddenly shifted from the frozen streets of Seoul to a concrete path lined up with many pillars.

This lookalike looked really beaten up with a patch of crimson red blood dried on his white hair and multiple tears on his black school uniform. He had this weird manic grin on his face with murderous intention. But the most striking detail were his eyes his bright blue oceanic eyes that pierced him with its gaze. Like a deity.

'Who is this weirdo?!'

"Are you serious?" He turned his head to a tall muscular man with an look of great shock and alarm on his face. He wore a tight black shirt with white martial arts pants and black flat pumps. He had this weird worm like creature on around his neck. There was this weird negative energy to the worm like its existence was unnatural, not supposed to be there.

"Oh yeah. I'm alive and well." the lookalike pulled his long fringes back to reveal a small scar that looked like a it was caused by a knife.

'Did he survive getting stabbed in the head?!'

"A reverse cursed technique!" the man muttered, his face becoming more and more alarm.

"Correct!" he shouted out with crazy look on his face, "I gave up on fighting back when you crushed my throat. I put my all into perfecting this technique. Cursed energy uses negative energy. It can fortify the body, but it can't cause regeneration. That's why its necessary to multiply it with more negative energy to create a positive... That's the reverse cursed technique!" He said with a toothy smile on his face that looked so out of place.

'These guys are speaking Japanese! Since when could I understand Japanese!?' Kim thought to himself, noting that he shouldn't even understand these two dudes because of the language barrier between them.

He continued on without interruption," The theory is easy enough. But I couldn't do it until now. The only person that I knew who could do it couldn't explain it for shit, but I finally got it on my deathbed... The core of cursed energy!"

"You lost because you didn't cut my head off... And because you didn't use that cursed tool when you stabbed me in the head!"

The muscular man watched his lookalike's tirade come to an end and pulled out a weapon from the mouth of the worm creature around his neck."... Lost?" He asked," The fight has just begun."

"Huh, I guess you're right... You're so right!" he screamed, gripping his hair in a manic fit of lunacy.

Gripping the weapon in a reverse grip the black haired man launched himself at his lookalike, but was easily sidestepped. He went back in for a couple more swipes but his white haired opponent vanished into thin air, appearing behind him high in the air the very next moment. He was floating upside down.

'That weapon... It's got a more potent effect than my blades of disruption! It can outright nullified techniques!' he thought, impressed by the unique weapon the muscular man carried.

"Cursed Technique Reversal... Red!"

A bright red orb appeared on the tip of the lookalike's fingers and he fired it off like a finger guy right at his opponent's torso.

His opponent was sent flying back meters away in a second and smashing through multiple pillars before coming to a stop. The white haired youth floating, upside down, high up in the air was laughing the whole time with a look of ecstasy on his face.

"What a monster," Kim murmured, unknowingly mirroring the same sentiments of his lookalike's opponent.

That was when the scenery was shifted back to the once again bustling streets of Seoul.

"What the hell was that memory?" it definitely wasn't his that's for sure. He was pretty sure he'd remember a fight like that happening before.

'That younger lookalike he was definitely using my Limitless Technique! And he was way better at than I could ever be!' He would have missed something like that if he didn't have the Six eyes, but these eyes never missed any detail. Was that a vision to show what he was potentially capable of with the technique.

Well, hopefully he'd get a better explanation within the next memory. He took out the next crystal from his inventory and crushed to pieces. This time he didn't flinch when the dust flew right into his eyes and he watched as time stood still once again with the environment changing completely.

Suddenly he was dragged into an empty void of space where he everything he could ever see and feel existed. Beyond an infinite degree. A separate space from reality where he could see and feel everything in the universe.

This didn't feel like the memory beforehand.

"This is the interior of infinity. Perception, communication. It forces you to repeatedly do what is necessary to survive."

He heard a voice distinctly familiar to the lookalike from before, however, he wasn't able to spot anyone within this empty void of everything. What an oxymoron.

"It's ironic, isn't it?" He heard the lookalike's voice again. "When you're bestowed with everything, you're slowly dying... Unable to do a thing."

However, he wasn't dying. He could comprehend this infinite void. He was someone with the ability to manipulate infinity to his whims so this shouldn't be a stretch, right? He was going to do something and that was getting out of here.

This place wasn't a memory and he knew that. It felt real. Too real. It felt overwhelming, but he had to focus and get out of this place, this domain of everything.

'Think, think, think, thin, thi, th, t....'

His mind suddenly went blank. He didn't know what was happening but his mind was getting injected with bounds and bounds of information that his mind was forced process. His brain was on fire, but there was that lookalike's voice again that snapped him back into focus.

"I'll spare you," he said.

Suddenly the void vanished and then Kim was forced to his knees, sweating profusely with his mind in anguish. He noticed that he was on a basketball court, absentmindedly, but not much beyond that.

"Wha-What was that?" He panted, squinting his eyes together at the bright lights entering his vision.

"That was my domain... Or rather your domain now."

Kim tilted his head up to see the lookalike standing above, blindfold covering his eyes but he knew that he could see him.

"You're the-"

"The lookalike?" Kim didn't see it because of the blindfold, but he had a feeling the lookalike was raising a brow, "Sorry to say, but you're more a copy of me than the other way around."

"Who even are you?" Kim questioned, really wanting answers as to what was happening right now.

"The name's Satrou, Gojo Satoru."
