Chapter 4: First Day

Lily's POV

Morning rays entering my room through the small window irritated my eyes and I had to wake up. Today is my first day of job at Cahn's taking care of Laurie. Laurie would be a boy of twelve or thirteen , otherwise why would he require someone to take care of him. How would he react on seeing me? Would he treat me as his mum? Would he be obedient?

Thinking all this I crawled my legs into my furry pink-brownish slippers, and moved towards the fresh room.

It took me one hour to get ready. I need to look quite decent,so that the baby can see a motherly feeling in me.

I took a cab to the Western Sub. I was feeling so nostalgic today. I had told about this job to my family last night at dinner. Ma had no objections, neither didi Rosy object. What would they say, I was the only bread earner of the family. Hush! How many years would it take Ryuk to finally get settled with me, when would I live a life of comfort.

When we would get married, we'll not act like the typical couples these days. We would behave immature and silly with each other as we used to ten years back. I would cook him dinner, he would make faces, then I would forcibly push the food in his mouth. Haha! What fun it would be. We would go to amusement parks, take rides and I would scream with joy holding him tight. When will those days come?

"Ma'am, you have reached the address," I was taken back to reality by the words of the driver. I hurriedly came down, handed him a currency note, and was startled to see the big mansion in front of my eyes. It all looked so royal and designed antiquely. The building was painted all white and purple. The house and the firm were side by side. I had to go to the receptionist, give her the visiting card, then she will lead me through a corridor, and tell me to go on the 18th floor. I was surprised to reach the 18th floor,would I work so high. Wowo!!! I'm so excited to meet that tiny tot.

I entered the house, this was not a house man! The hall looked like a big university's audotorium. I rummaged my belongings and moved in. Some line of people in identical dresses of red and purple greeted me. "Welcome Miss, you're made the caretaker of the house by Lord Alfred. So we are your subordinates. If you need any help, just call us." After saying that they dictated their names, Marshy, Goldie, Bob, Ben and Cazarine. I was feeling so great but I little nervous also. They begin to move out in an order, when I asked the youngest one to stay.

"Cazarine, could you tell me where is Sir Alfred and where is his grandson?"

"Ma'am, Alfred Sir has gone to the company and Laurie sir is going to get a bath, if you could take care of his lunch and all. You instruct us, we would be get going."

"Aha! no need, You don't take tension, I'll take care of him."

I began to look into each of the rooms then I found one room locked. I think Laurie is inside.

"Laurie, I'm preparing your bath tub, once you're ready with your clothes come out. I'll give you a bath."

"Hey, who are you?" a voice echoed from inside.

"I'm your nanny, come hurry up!, or I am rushing in."

I pushed the door hard and luckily it opened. Where was Laurie did he run away, what a nasty little boy, I'm getting him ready for a bath, and he is playing games with me.

"Laurie, don't play around. Come back, I promise I'll pay Hide and seek with you but only when you are done with the bath. LAURIE!!!," I was shrieking madly, there was no hint of him in the room. Maybe he would have gone to Bath himself, shy boy. OK!! "Laurie, I'm in your room, ok once you're done come out, I'll get you changed up." I squeaked leaning on the door of the bathroom.

Suddenly the door opened and I fell against a hard body, it was someone's chest. I began to move my hands from his chest, to his neck and then my fingers began carving out his lips, then my gaze met his blue stormy eyes. He was glaring at me in anger, is he Laurie?.... The ground shifted under my feet.
