Capital city

A few years ago while exploring a dungeon located in a mountainous area, Lilith happen to stumble upon a dragon egg. Just like Joyce she too used dark magic to hatch the egg.

"Sophia, I wanna move to the capital now", she whined.

"That's not possible miss, you know the countess won't let that happen", Sophia explained as she poured another cup of tea for Lilith. Sophia was one of the maids who solely served Lilith, about seventy percent of the maids in Hower castle are loyal to the countess. Their only purpose is to keep a close eye on Lilith. Of course, she was able to win over some of them while the others remained loyal to their master.

"She would if she knew no one was keeping a close eye on me", she sat up and walked to the window overseeing the garden. "What do you think the countess would do if she found out that her dear servants have perished."

"She would call you back to the capital, so she can keep a close eye on you", Sophia said in realization.

"Sophia, go to the information guild and get me as much info there is on my dear stepmother and her family", she ordered still staring outside the window. The countess is the proud sister of Marquess Amber, that's how she's able to get away with her wicked deeds.

"M-miss Lilith, I completed the task you gave me", a brown-haired girl called out, nervously playing with her hair.

"Clair", Lilith turned around to face Clair who was sheepishly standing by the door. Lilith signaled her to come closer and she obeyed, she stood next to Lilith who was slightly taller than her. "Now I'd like to hear your report, Clair".

"I was able to get a hold of the letters being changed between the head maid and the countess and I changed the content of the letters as per your instructions", Lilith leaned down to kiss Claire's forehead as a sign of gratitude. She has found that this is the most effective way of dealing with this little girl, whenever she did something to displease Lilith she would be met with the cold shoulder and be rewarded anytime she did something beneficial for her miss. This system has kept Clair in line for the past six years.

"Oh Sophia, accompany Clair and acquire some enderwood powder for me. Make sure the head maid does not know of this," she ordered as she took a sip of her tea. Like the obedient and loyal servants they were the two got to work.

While Claire and Sophia were out, Lili got to reading some of the letters that have been sent to her. Even though she craved to move to the capital she still had to establish some sort of power there. Unlike in the east where she reigned from the shadow her influence in the capital was minimal. The only thing she could boast about was her strength and she was hesitant to play that card.

"The Hain family has been recruiting every good mercenary and all we're left with is just trash. If it were up to me I would just massacre the whole family.", she muttered as she stared at the mercenary guild's recruit list. "Doesn't matter anyways, I'll just train them to be the best. Just like I did with Clair and Joyce"
