The "date"

The first few classes weren't that bad. They were boring, but I wasn't forced to day anything about myself. I mentioned I liked to draw in art class though, I thought people would get a kick out of that.

I couldn't really concentrate that much though. I couldn't wait for lunch. I would sit with the nicest, cutest girl. Not to mention she's my first friend. Her hair is silk smooth and soft. She smells great, too.

The bell goes off and I stop day dreaming of Laureen. It's lunchtime! These last couple hours have made me so excited for something that people can find so little.

I head to the cafeteria and see Laureen sitting at a table with her friends. I see her and wave. She waves back, smiling! I head over to her, both of us are beaming.

"Hey Laureen! Good thing I found you, are we going to get in line?" I say, too happy notice my drenched palms.

"Hi Grace, I hope your classes were great. You do realize we're allowed to leave for lunch, right? Cause that's what we're doing today. I'm treating you to lunch!" Her happy voice fills my heart.

"Y-you don't have to do that, really. I'm good with school lunch."

"Oh no, I insist. Besides, I told my friends we could go today. We were already planning on it."

"R-really? Well in that case..."

"See? No problem! Also, I'm paying for you. I'm not letting you day no."

"Well I guess I can't say no. What about. maybe not?" That was way too cheesy, even for me. Why did that leave me mouth?

She laughs at my stupid pick up line saying, "You're too funny! Anyway, we usually just go to a gas station and get some hot dogs and burgers. Are you allergic to anything?"

"No, nothing at all,"

Suddenly, another female voice chimes in, "Hey, you lovebirds going to hurry up? Lunch doesn't last forever, ya know?"

A male voice responds, "I wish it did,"

The girl says, "Oh you're just hungry all the time. Now let's get going people!"

We start heading for the door, but I can't get something off of my mind. Lovebirds? Why does it stick out so much? Why can't I stop blushing?! I wonder...is Laureen lesbian?
