Chapter 20 - Finally Home

[Alert! Mission complete!]

[You have ten minutes before you are transported back to your world]

[Group chat function new features will be activated once you are back in your world]

[Timer: 9:59]

"Huh, we have to go back so soon, I was excited to fight some wizards and learn magic. " JoJo complained in a disappointed tone.

"Well, there's always next time. Anyway, you never said what this 'observation Haki' does, is it cool? I've already told you mine." JoJo said, forgetting his previous disappointment, now looking at Raito, curiosity in his eyes.

"It just allows me to see within a certain range around me, and the better I get at using it the further the range," Raito vaguely replied to JoJo, not wanting to expand on it further.

"Wait! We've only got 4 minutes left. I'm going to talk to those guys over there and try and learn as much as possible. JoJo said, now a lot more excited, rushed in the direction of Crusch and Wilhelm, who just so happened to be walking in our direction as well.

Seeing this, Raito decided to follow JoJo and meet them in the middle, as learning some information before leaving could be useful.

"Hello Sir Raito, I would just like to thank you for your assistance, and ask if there is anything I can do to repay this debt?" Crusch spoke towards Raito and Suki, ignoring JoJo, who had arrived before Raito and seemed like he wanted to ask something.

"Magic!?" JoJo, taking the opportunity, shouted out in a questioning tone directed at Crusch.

"What about it?" Crusch asked back, confused by the sudden shout from Raito's assigned bodyguard.

"What I think he means is that, while our nation does have magic, we use a different magic system compared to you. So I think he was just curious how your magic system works compared to ours, as it seemed pretty strong." Raito quickly interrupted JoJo just as he was about to speak, not wanting him to give anything away about his previous lie.

"A different magic system? Well if that is the case then I suppose I could give you information on how our magic system works." Crusch said in a surprised and somewhat disbelieving tone, sceptical of something so unbelievable. But while she was sceptical she saw no reason to lie and if it was only information on the magical system then that is fine.

"Yes, that would be much appreciated," Raito replied, still upholding the facade of a noble. Even though his face was stoic, anticipation was clear in his voice.

"Well then, where to begin? Yes, let's start with the basics. Magic is made up of six elements, that would be Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Yin, and Yang. Fire involves temperature, Water involves life, Wind works outside the bodies of living things, and Earth works inside the bodies of living things. Yin spells cover debuffs while Yang spells cover buffs.

While most mages are capable of using one element, some can use multiple elements. There are two types of primary casters; mages and spirit arts users, which are different in how mana is used to cast spells. Mages draw on mana from within while spirit arts users use the mana in the atmosphere with the aid of spirits.

Whilst it isn't considered magic, some people utilise mana for their benefit. By subconsciously using their mana and letting it flow through their body, they imbue themselves with magic-like properties. Wilhelm is an example of someone who does this, and as you can see, it can be a very powerful technique."

"So then how can I learn my elemental attribute?" JoJo asked, seemingly completely engrossed in her explanation.

"I would need to feel the magic in your gate," Crusch replied.

"Gate?" JoJo asked.

"The gate is a thing in your body that magic comes out. It's through this that mages cast their spells." Crusch explained, taking her job to teach about the magic system seriously. Now convinced seeing their ignorance on the subject and having trust in her blessing.

"Can you check my attribute?!" JoJo asked, buzzing with anticipation.

"Yes let me just..." She said, moving her hand to Jojos' forehead and touching her finger on it. "hmm, it seems you have the Yang attribute, that's surprising seeing as it's pretty rare. I myself have the wind attribute. Would you like to go next Raito?" She then turned to Raito sn and asked.

"Yes, that would be appreciated."

Crusch then did the same to Raito as she did to JoJo. As she did her face lit up in surprise, shocked by the attribute Raito got.

"You have both Yin and Yang attributes, the two most uncommon attributes," Crusch said incredulously.

"Well seeing as you are the only one left, would you too like to have your magical attribute checked?" Crusch finally calmed herself, she asked, now looking at Suki.

"Sure," Suki replied, an indifferent look on her face, and her tone stayed the same, clearly not too interested.

Crusch then repeated it for the third time, checking Suki's magical attributes. As she finished checking and saw what it was she froze, shock morphing onto her face.

"How... How is this possible? Four elements! Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth," Crusch exclaimed in shock, her face frozen in disbelief.

Suki's face after hearing this didn't change, which makes sense seeing as she's a magical immortal vampire.

"...Crusch!" Crusch finally snapped out of it after being called repeatedly by Raito.

"Yes?" Crusch asked back, trying to hide her embarrassment from zoning out.

"Do you know any incantations for attributes such as Yin and Yang?" Raito asked, trying to move the conversation along as he only has a limited amount of time.

"Ah! yes, for Yin there is Shamak, Ul Shamak, Al Shamak. Shamak is the basic low-grade spell and then El Shamak is a more advanced version, while Al Shamak is the highest version, but it takes a ridiculous amount of magic and power and is almost impossible to cast. And for Yang, there is Jiwald, El Jiwald, and Al Jiwald. While there are more spells for attributes you'd have to ask someone of that attribute, as they'd know more about it than me."

"Thank you, and also sorry but we must take our leave," Raito replied, having got everything he wanted from this world.

"So soon?" Crusch asked in surprise, seeing as the battle had only been over for around ten minutes.

"Yes, there are other urgent matters I must attend to," Raito said, his expression not changing at all even under this bald-faced lie.

"Well then safe travels. If you ever are in the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica come to the Karsten family home, you can stay there for as long as you like." She replied, sincerity in her voice. She bid farewell to the group and then walked back to her soldiers.

"So I guess we're going to have to go back soon," JoJo said in a dispirited tone, still not content with his first time in another world.

Raito pulled out his phone and checked the timer,

[Timer: 1:28]

"There's only one minute left, we should get out of sight before the timer runs out," Raito said after looking at his phone screen, some hints of urgency in his voice.

The three of them left quickly, getting out of sight in just under a minute.

"Only ten seconds left now, this was fun, I hope we get another mission soon," JoJo said just before a blinding white light engulfed them, bringing everyone back to where they were when the mission first started, no time had passed at all.

As Raito looked around he saw that it was still daytime and he was standing on the street right outside Shueisha Publishing Company. Remembering what happened just before being transported for his first mission, he decided to take a train back home.

Raito took his seat on the train and decided to open his phone to check the group chat, interested in the new functions that would be unlocked.
