Introduction

What is happening? I thought as I heard a baby crying who was actually me. Where is this place? I thought trying to gain back my memory. Last thing I was doing was giving a speech at my graduation ceremony then I suddenly fainted. Did I die? Maybe, because I can't feel my legs or hands well. Let me try raising my hand. Huh! it's not working.

"Look, she finally kept quiet but why does the young lady look like she is uncomfortable." asked one of the people in the room. "Oh dear, I guess she's hungry. Linah go and make some milk using the formula." "Okay" she replied and went out. "Isn't the little lady too pitiful, her mother has just died giving birth to her and her father doesn't even want to see her. "You shouldn't say such things in front of the young lady" snapped the woman who said I might be hungry earlier on.

Wait a minute, my mother is dead, and she died giving birth to me I thought. Wow, so cliche but at least now I have an idea of my standing in this place so I will most likely be ignored for the rest of my life here. Isn't that great! No one to bother me and I can do absolutely anything that I want. If this place has formula, then it might not be as backwards as most of the other worlds where the female leads get reincarnated. Oh, I'm suddenly getting tired I thought then fell asleep.

"Marie, I'm back with the milk" said Linah "Too late, she's already asleep" said Marie the maid who was currently carrying the baby. "Now, what do we do?" said the third maid, Ella "His highness says he doesn't care about the baby, and he even said she isn't his and he is going to do a DNA test tomorrow" she added sadly.

"Well, I think we should leave before that, but we probably don't have any money or a place to go," said Marie. "We can't leave without her highness' body" demanded Linah. "Linah, you know the situation we're in and it's what her highness would have wanted" said Marie trying to reason with her.

Linah knew it too but still felt bad after all, her highness was her own blood sister who saved her back then when the former emperor, the current emperor's father attacked and destroyed their kingdom. Her sister fell for his son when they were brought back and even helped him strengthen his power and get the throne but what did she get in return. His cold shoulder and he even brought back a concubine and already has three children with her. 

Her sister, knew all this but still clung onto him then he framed her for trying to assassinate his concubine which she didn't do and she lost her empress status and the people captivated by his concubine, the so-called saintess all supported him but then the imperial doctor said she can't be executed because she was pregnant and they need not involve an innocent child's life in this so until she gives birth, she was pardoned from execution but they stripped her of her empress status and even threw a grand ceremony for crowning the new empress, the emperor's concubine.

What a story, from concubine to empress thought Linah and what did her sister get after helping that scumbag nothing but betrayal. Thank God the child isn't his, but her sister never told her who the father is, all she said was it wasn't his and that if something happened to her in the process of childbirth. They should leave with the child.

"Okay, we leave tonight" she agreed, and they all agreed. I'll try my best to raise her well sister thought Linah as they all left the room and took the baby with them. "Don't worry, it's not like we're stealing an imperial child. Her highness was so sure it wasn't his, who do you think the father is that he even made the empress who was madly in love with the emperor change her mind, I bet he is way more handsome than the emperor" said Ella getting lost in her delusions and narrating about all the romance novels she reads during the deep night instead of sleeping.

Ella's P.O.V...

I remember the first time I saw her highness it was when I was still a child, she had just been installed as empress and was busting an illegal slavery organization and I happened to be next on the selling list. She took me back to the castle and I met Linah, her younger sister and Marie, her personal maid. It was so magical, I had warm bed, nice food and comfortable clothes. The empress even took us out some days. We'd go shopping at the mall, and take pictures in the booth machines, then amusement park rides and even to music concerts of my favorite kpop artists.

Then around a year, it all changed she was arrested and tried. They would have killed her if it wasn't for the little baby Marie is now holding, it gave us more time with her majesty. I know it was selfish of me to want her to be there forever, but I didn't expect her to go this early either. Even if, she's gone now. I have to look after her child as if it was my own because what she did for me was more than just saving my life. 

In their room...

"Mommy, are we going somewhere?" asked Lucia, Marie's seven-year-old daughter as she carried the baby in her hand. "Yeah, we're leaving to go to some place better" replied Marie as she packed more of Lucia's clothes and shoes into a suitcase. "Are we going with daddy?" she asked again and made Marie blush. "Oooo" teased Linah and Ella "Are we?" they continued teasing her and didn't even realize that Lucia had gone off with the baby.

Earlier that day, before her highness went into labor...

"Linah, can you call for me the imperial physician?" she asked. "Okay" said Linah and she went and called him. They both entered the room, and she told Linah to first leave for a while. "Your Highness, you called for me" he said. "Yes, your brother is the child's father" she directly told him. Huh! he thought, wait a minute when did he come here, and he even had time to sleep with her highness.

"You know my condition best, even if I don't die in labor I might not survive for long after that so please take her to her father plus this" she said handing him a letter. "When did you meet my brother?" he asked. "Somewhere, not important. He's tired and wants you to go back home and take over your family business or he'll burn it down himself." she said. That brat, he's blackmailing me but then I guess I played doctor for long enough. It's time to take responsibility.

"Btw, your highness not to be rude or anything but why did you agree to sleep with my brother?" he asked. "Hmm, why well he's cute" she said with a smile, one of those rare smiles the imperial physician saw on her face so rarely. "Oh" he couldn't help but laugh. guess even my brother has someone for him. He left after that.

Well, my dear little girl what do you think of your uncle, he's a good man. And your father to put it simple is one of a kind well at least to me. You should grow up well, I'll come and visit as much as I can she thought.
