Ch-10: Heavenly Qi Ranking

"Oh, by the way, are you planning to hide that you have Heavenly Qi?" Mo Xiao asked with a smile, which shocked Bai Chenyu. He wondered how Mo Xiao knew, and Zhu Yu looked even more shocked, his mouth hanging open, able to fit an egg inside.

"No, Master, I was planning to tell you, but you beat me to it," Bai Chenyu responded calmly. He had no intention of keeping it from Mo Xiao.

 "Why keep it a secret? If you had revealed it, you could have become an Outer Court Disciple without taking the entrance test." Mo Xiao asked in a curious voice while eyeing Bai Chenyu

 "Master, there are reasons. If I had disclosed it, I might have attracted unwanted attention. Before it reached the ears of Elders looking for disciples, I could have been disposed of because I lacked support." Bai Chenyu explained to Mo Xiao who raised an eyebrow

"Are you suggesting there might be spies in the sect?" Mo Xiao asked in a serious voice

"I didn't mean that. But there are always people jealous of the talented, wanting to cut the grass before it grows." Bai Chenyu replied calmly and Mo Xiao nodded in understanding, a satisfied smile appearing on his face 

"Haha, excellent! It seems I've gained not just a talented but also a wise disciple," Mo Xiao said joyfully, highly satisfied with his new apprentice.

Bai Chenyu chuckled internally, thinking, 'Heh, Su Chen, looks like I've taken your position. But I feel like there's something crucial I'm forgetting.' Su Chen, in the midst of cultivation, suddenly opened his eyes, looking uneasy as if something important had been taken from him without his knowledge, and resumed his Cultivation again. Bai Chenyu also sensed a nagging feeling of forgetting something crucial.

"Bai Chenyu, no just Chenyu, that's what I'll call you from now on," Mo Xiao declared with a smile.

"As you wish, Master," Bai Chenyu responded with a smile. His face held a complex expression; in his past life, he had no parents or close connections, so this level of familiarity felt a bit unfamiliar.

"Alright, Chenyu, do you know the rank of your physique and Heavenly Qi, or what type of physique you possess?" Mo Xiao asked with curiosity and excitement in his voice. If Chenyu had a high-ranked physique, it would mean his already rare Heavenly Qi could be of a high rank as well, then his already bright future would be limitless and he could boast that he was the Master of such a powerful figure 

"I have no idea, Master," Bai Chenyu replied, choosing not to disclose the name of his physique, knowing that even if he did, it was doubtful anyone would recognize it as there were no records of Cekersial Ranked Physique or Qi

Recalling information from the novels he had read, he continued, 'From what I remember, there are six ranks in physique and Heavenly Qi: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Imperial, Royal, and Supreme. Bronze is the lowest rank, while Supreme is the highest for both physique and Heavenly Qi.' Bai Chenyu thought in his mind 

"Hmm, don't resist; let me check," Mo Xiao said calmly. He used his spiritual sense to probe the type of Heavenly Qi Bai Chenyu might possess. Mo Xiao's expression turned disappointed when he couldn't discern it, but he quickly became ecstatic. The failure meant Bai Chenyu had a highly-ranked physique. Bai Chenyu remained calm, as he already knew from the system that no one would be able to determine his Qi even with their spiritual senses. Yeah, so there was no hint of panic on his face

"Chenyu, congratulations! My spiritual sense failed to perceive your Heavenly Qi rank. That means you must have a very high-ranked Heavenly Qi," the sect leader exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement. He was thrilled that their sect had discovered such a hidden gem.

"Really?" Bai Chenyu replied, scratching the back of his head and putting on a clueless look. He couldn't let on that he already knew about his Heavenly Qi rank.

"What, Sect Leader, you couldn't perceive his Heavenly Qi rank!" Zhu Yu, still reeling from the revelation about Bai Chenyu's Heavenly Qi, exclaimed in surprise. He understood the implications: Bai Chenyu could possibly have Heavenly Qi ranked above the Golden Rank, and there was a slight possibility he might even have the highest-ranked Physique and Heavenly Qi, the Supreme rank. Zhu Yu sighed, realizing he couldn't have the privilege of taking Bai Chenyu as his disciple.

"Indeed, Elder Zhu, he must have a physique at least above the Golden Rank; otherwise, I wouldn't have failed to sense his Qi," Mo Xiao replied with a smile.

"Sect Leader, how are we going to figure out what kind of rank or what physique Bai Chenyu possesses?" Zhu Yu asked curiously, eager to know how Mo Xiao would determine Bai Chenyu's rank and the name of his physique.

"Don't you have things to do, Elder Zhu? Why don't you go and attend to your tasks? You'll learn about his rank when it's announced," Mo Xiao said with a smile. Zhu Yu understood that it must be a secret he wasn't privileged to know about.

"Oh, yes, I have some work. I will take my leave, Sect Leader," Zhu Yu said, cupping his hands in a gesture of departure. Bai Chenyu watched Zhu Yu leave, he remembered from the information he read in the novel that Mo Xiao would bring Su Chen to his personal abode where he keeps many important and rare things that he only allows his personal disciples to use or see, so he guessed he would take him to that place as well 

"Alright, Chenyu, I will take you to a place to test what kind of Heavenly Qi you possess," Mo Xiao said, and Bai Chenyu nodded in agreement.

"Oh, shoot, I completely forgot about this." Bai Chenyu's figure froze when he looked towards the entrance of the place. A third person had just arrived in the room, someone who had given Su Chen a lot of headaches during his time here.
