Dangers of Everyday Life (End)

When Jacob woke up, he heard the birds singing and opened his eyes. His first sight? A landscape he had seen almost a thousand times before. "Great," he thought sarcastically, "another day starting."

Jacob remembered the perfect moment, when looking out the carriage window, a sense of peace burst into the air. And he knew there was a song that perfectly matched this moment: Beautiful Losers. With sarcasm, he thought to himself, "What irony... it always seems we're lost no matter how hard we try to be victorious." Then he sighed and enjoyed the tranquility as the carriage moved forward.

After a few hours of wagon ride, Jacob had to make some stops to take care of his basic needs. Along the way, he had the chance to take a look at the rural beauty that surrounded him. He was eager to reach his destination.

"Sigh... What must Grace be doing now?" Jacob thought curiously while observing the landscape.

Jacob couldn't stop thinking about Grace. Was she eating a good snack at that time? Was she looking at the same starry sky he was watching?

Jacob closed his eyes and smiled, imagining what Grace would be doing at that moment. Surely she would be thinking of him too.

As Jacob thought of Grace, he felt the presence of 10 men lurking in front of him. He grew cold, not showing the slightest fear. His hairs stood on end, as he knew this situation could be dangerous. Still, he remained calm as he assessed the available options and prepared his next step.

Jacob is cold as steel and only needed a few seconds to locate the whereabouts of each of the thieves. He then quickly identified them and set up an ambush to take them by surprise. His agility and skill prove his proficiency as an experienced hunter.

[Bandit's Perspective.]

"The wagon is coming! Let's attack when it passes us!" Hiding in a bush, a bandit whispered to his comrades. They quickly agreed and decided to follow the plan.

The ten bandits set off, moving along the roadside. All their senses were on alert, ready for the attack. The leader of the gang, the biggest and strongest, held his cutlass, preparing to strike.

They were only waiting for a sign, and the wagon was visible. Moving slowly, it was approaching them. The leader gave the signal and the ten of them exploded, running towards the wagon, but when they were about to attack, Jacob subtly appeared behind the leader of the bandits and killed him with a single blow, splitting his body in half.

The sound of blood spurting, the smell and most of all the macabre sound of the blade cutting through bone and flesh, hung over all those present.

Jacob coldly wiped his sword, and looking into the eyes of each bandit, said: "So, who's going to be the second to die?"

Jacob was happy that he found those bandits, after all, he could test his new skill freely here. The bandits stared at him, waiting for his move. But Jacob just smiled with a dark expression.

The first to attack was a girl, holding a huge katana. Jacob quickly dodged backwards, freeing himself from the girl's reach. She approached quickly, but he held his sword firmly and blocked the strike and counterattacked. The girl's head suddenly detached from her body and fell to the ground. Soon after her body followed and a cruel atmosphere hung over the bandits.

The other eight bandits immediately approached, surrounding Jacob. He spun the sword in the air, defending himself from the blows coming from all sides. The impact of Jacob's defense made the bandits retreat a few meters.

Taking this opportunity, Jacob, with just one thought, conjured and controlled eight swords, and cleared the area. The bandits desperately tried to dodge, but they couldn't. Jacob had used his ability, the "Master of Weapons", and the 8 swords were thrown at the bandits. The result was splendid and the bandits were brutally dead. Some had lost legs, while others had lost parts of their skull. That scene really looked like a horror movie.

Seeing such destruction, Jacob was excited to continue testing his new ability and tested it on the corpses of the bandits.

It seems that your skill has no limit on how many weapons can be summoned, nor does size have any limits. But the bigger the weapon, the slower the launch. Jacob could also summon any kind of weapon from this world, giving him various combat styles. Jacob could truly be called a "master of weapons" at this moment.

After testing all the features of his new ability, Jacob smiled and sarcastically joked: "Master of arms? Not bad for a beginner." The look of satisfaction on his face made it clear that he loved his newly acquired ability.

As he smiled, Jacob noticed his wagon in the horizon getting further away. The reason for his joy? He knew that, as always, he would have to run to catch up to it as soon as possible. He started running clumsily to catch up to the wagon as soon as possible.

Jacob was exhausted after a few minutes of running, so when he saw the wagon moving alongside him, he quickly jumped into it. As he sat there, looking at the horse pulling the wagon, he asked sarcastically, "Why didn't you stop and wait for me?"

The horse looked at Jacob and snorted as if to say, "What are you doing here? Do I know you?" It was as if Jacob was not important to him - he seemed totally indifferent.

"Shit, that's why the dog is man's best friend." Jacob said irritably, and leaned against the window to relax.

Jacob looked admiringly at the sun that had just set. Its last brilliant rays highlighted the bodies of the dead bandits, the horizon and the air around him. It was a moment of tranquility and admiration, which Jacob took full advantage of.

"Sure, according to the map, it's only a few hours until I reach the village. I'm a bit relieved that this journey is almost over, but... It's strange wanting this kind of life for myself?" Jacob thought as he looked out to the horizon.

That journey gave Jacob a natural feeling. He experienced things as new as breathing fresh air, dealing with werewolves, bandits, bards and mosquitoes. Despite having spent the whole journey observing the landscapes, Jacob enjoyed the feeling of calm, the silence and especially his reflections, which made him rethink himself and his future.
