VIII: Danielle

Danielle's pov

"Danielle?"

"Danielle?"

"Oh God, Richard, call 911!"

Third-person pov:

Danielle's grandparents stay at the hospital watching and waiting for her to wake up, they've stayed up all night.

Tera was planning on going to visit Danielle at a free school by herself and bringing a few friends. Liam, Melody, Hazel, and Ari.

James came by when he heard the news but didn't help. But he is there right now. What was going through James' head was a lot.

James's pov:

I am such a fucking idiot! Why, why was I being a dumb ass? I should've asked her first. If I hadn't tricked her she wouldn't be in this mess. All I can do now is stay with her. Hold her hand until she wakes up.

Tera's pov:

It was now after school and I was already at the hospital with the others. Melody had told me that she might've been the last person to talk to Danielle.

I worry something might happen to her baby and I told her I'd be there for her, always. The elevator dinged as the door opened, I already knew where her room was so the rest just followed me.

I open the door to see someone I wouldn't expect. It was James and he was by her bedside crying, I was so confused. Why was he here? And why was he crying? Did he hurt her?

Fear my blood ran cold at the thought of Danielle being harmed by their ex. I thought after new year's I wouldn't have to see him again, but I guess James just can't let go. He's here because he wants to console me, he feels bad for me because my best friend is in the hospital.

"James? What are you doing here?" I inquired about the reason, even though I know why already. "Uh, I'm just here as a friend." Sure he is, it's sweet that he wants to get back together but he cheated on me so no. I walked over to Danielle and held her hand. I hope she's just resting and not in a coma.

Her eyes started to flutter open and she started to move. I was so happy, but I wanted to know what happened before she blacked out. I was about to say something when the doctor came in for a check-up.

"W-what h-happened?"

"That's what we're trying to figure out sweetheart, do remember what happened?" The doctor asked, Danielle, closed her eyes and opened them again. "I-I do." "Well can you tell me?" Danielle tensed up and looked around, At first, I thought she was looking for Melody. Danielle untensed and asked, " Where's Cassie?"

"She said that you probably didn't want to see her, why?" I say. Wait, was Cassie the reason Danielle was in the hospital?

"Because she's the reason I'm here, I read that when you're pregnant and you receive a certain amount of stress you can have complications. And Cassie gave me that stress." I was taken aback by her words. "Wait, so Cassie is the reason you're in here," I ask Liam, I'm the only one who knows about their secret relationship and I was gonna expose them. "Tera, please, not right now." I roll my eyes and drag him out of the room.

"Liam, me and your girlfriend are going to fight. NO ONE messes with my best friend and gets away with it, no one." The words out of my mouth with gritted teeth. "I cannot believe you, you dare to protect your girlfriend over Danielle?!" He was about to say something but closed his mouth knowing that whatever he said wasn't going to help his case.

"Look, Liam, I think it's better if you just go home," I say hugging him and walking back into the room, I'm glad he let me rant but now I feel a little bad for him, he didn't do anything, oh well my main focus is Danielle. "So you were right about the stress part. Luckily it was minor so your baby's health is. I suggest whatever is causing your stress don't be acquainted with it anymore. Also the more rest you get the better you'll get." The doctor nodded at the nurse before leaving. "You are eligible to be checked out but you should have your guardians sign you out." The nurse says as Danielle's grandparents follow her leaving me, Danielle, melody, Hazel, and Ari.

They all sat around her as I grabbed her clothes. "Danielle We bought a card from the whole class, but they don't know why you're here." Ari sauntered over to the chair in the corner. "Thanks, guys, I appreciate it." She said sitting up as I handed her clothes. "So can you te-" "Let's leave the questions for after she's changed," I say leading her to the bathroom. "Are you alright to be by yourself?" She nods her head and closes the door.

I sit on her bed and look at the other girls. "Guys, Danielle's our friend and if we were going through this she'd be with us every step of the way, so let's do the same." All of them nodded their heads and smiled. "Now I've already made it clear that I'm the first aunt, who calls second?" All at once, the girls raise their hands. "Melody already called second yesterday, so, who's third?" Danielle asked, scaring all of us. "I CALL THIRD! First is the Worst, Second is the one with Hair On Their Chest, and Third Is The Best." Arianna says mockingly, blowing raspberries at Hazel who just rolled her eyes.

"Since Danielle isn't been discharged you guys wanna go to the teen room or the cafe?" Hazel asks already at the door. We all decide to go to the teen room now and a restaurant after Danielle's discharge. We were having fun with Danielle painting with headphones on her stomach, Hazel and Melody playing volleyball with scrunchies, and Ari playing Hockey with me. We had already texted Danielle's grandparents where we were.

Danielle's pov:

Tuesday, 9:24 pm

It's been a while since I had dinner with my friends and I was craving something. I was excited to see how it tasted. I got up, put on shoes, and grabbed my Nana's keys. I drove to the nearest gas station ( Sheetz). I grabbed my favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream, some rice Krispies, peanut butter, and pickles. Now at the time, it sounded so good.

I drove back home and went straight up to my room, I put together the disgusting combination and ate while I painted. My Nana said she was going to save up money to buy a bigger house for me and James to raise our baby.

I finished my sunset painting, took a shower, and got ready to go to bed. I settled into bed and let sleep overcome me. I was out like a light.

I hope tomorrow is a good day...
