The Second Blessing

'A new blessing along with three equivalent gifts?'

Since the Grimoire of Life and Death already informed Aeon that he would receive gifts for offering the corpses to eat, he was already expecting things from it.

However, he was pleasantly surprised to see that not only a new blessing had been unlocked in the Blessing Page but he would be receiving three equivalent gifts from the Grimoire of Life and Death.

'I wonder what kind of gifts I will be receiving.'

So far, everything that Aeon received from the Grimoire of Life and Death was very useful to him. Hence, he was excited about the gifts he would be getting from the Grimoire of Life and Death.

'Until I receive those gifts, let's check out the new blessing on the Blessing Page.'

With that thought in mind, Aeon looked at the Grimoire of Life and Death.

Sensing Aeon's thoughts, the Grimoire of Life and Death directly opened the fourth page of the book, the Blessing Page.

The second blessing that used to be locked was no longer locked and there was the name of the new blessing.

'Devouring Effect? Can you explain it in detail?'

Aeon knew that the Grimoire of Life and Death would give more detailed information about the blessing. Hence, he asked for it.

'Swoosh'

[Devouring Effect: Whenever the temporary owner offers a corpse, he will be blessed with a temporary effect related to the offered corpse for 10 minutes.]

[Devouring Effect: Agility (15 percent increase)]

Soon, the detailed information about the new blessing appeared on the page, making Aeon fully understand how exactly it works.

'So, all I needed to do was feed it some corpses and I would gain different effects for 10 minutes.'

Since the Grimoire of Life and Death explained so clearly, only a fool won't understand the new blessing.

As for Aeon, he was not a fool as he continued thinking, 'Since Goblin Soldiers are known for their speed, the [Devouring Effect] gave me a boost in my Agility by 5 percent per corpse…Interesting.'

Even though the effect would only last for 10 minutes, Aeon knew how useful this new blessing would be.

'Especially when I fight against the monster groups. I will become stronger as I fight, kill and offer the corpses to the Grimoire of Life and Death.'

Although Aeon was excited to fight the monster groups, he knew about himself and didn't have any plans of doing anything soon.

'Anyway, my first goal in this Trial Realm of Life and Death would be getting that cave.'

Aeon's trial of killing 1000 monsters belonging to 10 monster races would take a lot of time.

To complete such a trial, Aeon needed a perfect base where he could cultivate and rest without worrying about external dangers. By cultivating peace and increasing his strength, Aeon's chances of completing the trial would increase by a lot.

'Even though I have a 15 percent increase in my speed, I can't use it to take over the cave.'

In front of absolute power like Goblin Captain, a 15 percent boost in his speed won't do anything.

Thus, Aeon felt it was a little wasteful, not being able to use that 15 percent boost in his speed.

'I could search for other monsters to fight and kill them; however, right now, I don't want to shift my focus from the cave.'

With that thought in mind, Aeon collected the fruits, the small dead animals and one of the wooden clubs before running back to his old place where he could observe the cave once again.

Because Aeon's agility was up by 15 percent, he returned to his hiding spot much faster.

'Since the Goblin Captain will be doing the ritual tomorrow night, I could only resist my sleep and patiently wait until then.'

As someone who started his cultivation, staying awake for a week is a small thing whereas it's been only a day.

So, Aeon decided not to sleep until tomorrow night and in the meanwhile, to pass the time, he started circulating the Thunder Serenity Flow and slowly absorbed the Life Energy.

Even though it was a boring and tedious thing, Aeon was only excited with each unit of Life Energy he absorbed in his Life Space as it was the only way for him to become stronger. 

Making use of each second for his cultivation and accumulating the Life Energy in his Life Space to make another breakthrough.

'To become a level 4 Life Blood Soldier, it requires 300 units of Life Energy. I already have 2 Life Crystals and I can create another 3 tomorrow.'

While circulating his cultivation technique, Aeon rapidly made some calculations to see how long it would take him to break through to the Level 4 Life Blood Soldier.

'From each special low-level Life Crystal, with the help of the first blessing [The Cultivation Boost], I can absorb 40 units of Life Energy and from five Life Stones, it would be 200 units of Life Energy.'

'However, I still have more than a day to cultivate. So, it won't be a problem to become a Level 4 Life Blood Soldier before the Goblin Captain starts his ritual.'

After making the calculations, Aeon learned that he would become a Level 4 Life Blood Soldier with ease, which didn't make Aeon relax; instead, it only made him excited as his goal was not reaching the Level 4 Life Blood Soldier but far beyond that.

To do that, Aeon needed lots of Life Energy and he could not slack just because he was able to break through to the next level easily.

Time continued to pass and one hour passed by as Aeon absorbed 10 units of Life Energy before he paused his cultivation.

It was because the Grimoire of Life and Death which was silent until now, shook a little and the middle page opened.
