Chapter 1 - A New Home

Yawn! Ah, another ordinary... Huh, did I oversleep? Oh, shit! Don't tell me that I forgot to set my alarm. I hope the meeting didn't start yet.

"Wait a minute... Where am I?"

After getting up, search around my surroundings. It's all dark. Did I get kidnapped? I'm just an average joe so I don't think any criminals would want me...

Okay, calm down and analyze the situation. I got up and slowly walk to the left, holding my hands out, so I don't run into anything. After a bit, I gradually felt a cold surface. I'm guessing that this is the wall.

The wall felt hard. Maybe it's made of rock? If so, I'm probably in a cave. Facing forward, I notice some light in the distance. I bet if I walk towards it, I'll make it outside. Okay, let's find out if I'm correct.

After a bit of walking in the dark, I finally made it to the light. As soon as I did, my eyes widen.

"This is... so beautiful!"

The outside looks like one you would find in a fantasy RPG. The sky is bright blue and has no clouds in sight, allowing the sun to be the main star. Lustest trees of all sizes surround me, telling me that I'm in an enormous forest. I could hear animes (?) maneuvering through the woods, searching for their next prey.

I look down to see a vast lake in front of me. It seems like the forest is surrounding the lake and this cave. A lovely spot for a picnic or camping if you ask me. I could see a wide variety of colorful aquatic creatures swimming in the lake.

I walk towards the lake to see if the water was drinkable; however, when I reached the water, I instantly froze when I looked at my reflection.

"Huh, What is this?! I have blue hair now and my eyes..."

My left eye was still brown, but my right eye is light blue, and its retina is replaced with a pentagram that has complex symbols onto it. It looks like a magical circle that you find in games or anime.

My face also looks different. A blue etching is around my right eye. I put my hand on my face, trying to touch the engraving; however, the engraving is part of my skin.

"This is weird... Huh?!"

Right as I speak, I notice that my teeth were all long, sharp, and pointy. They look like teeth that you would find in monsters in horror films, or what the big bad wolf would have. There kind of scary looking...

The rest of my body is pretty much the same, minus the fact that my body is more muscular and skinny. I wouldn't want to mess with me.

"Hold on a second..."

I remember the questionnaire that I filled out before sleeping—the appearance of having blue hair and two different color eyes...

Am I in another world? As I thought this, a dragon-like creature flew above me. Well, guess that answers my question. Wait, is that a real dragon?! Please don't eat me!

The dragon didn't seem to notice me and flew away. I sigh in relief.

"Thank goodness..."

After feeling relief that the dragon didn't eat me, I notice a presence and voices coming in my direction. "Hmm? I hope they are nice people. At least they could point me is to help me out in some way."

I start walking towards them; however, I stop after five steps. I realize that the voices are five kilometers away from me. Has my hearing always been this good? After thinking this for a bit, I resume walking.

After being 2 kilometers away, I could comprehend their conversations between the two voices.

"S-sir Gallop! I don't t-think we should be out here. Let's hurry back before..."

"Silence, Marry! Everything will be okay. Besides, I'm here. Nothing can defeat me! My sword skills are first-rate, after all. So, you can relax."

"B-but! We're in the Blue Devil's den! The legends state that he is the strongest monster in the world! He could destroy this world without using his limbs."

"Come on, Mary. It's a legend, nothing else. You should know by now that humans created this legend to scare their children into submission. He isn't real. Now, let's continue."

"But... Okay, S-Sir."

After being one kilometer away from these two, I could make out their appearances. The first one is a male and seems to be leading the 2nd person. He is tall and has short blonde hair. His outfit is green and looks to be on the expensive side. The 2nd person is a female who is shaking quite a bit. She had long brown hair and is on the short side. She has on a revealing green outfit. It's a little refreshing to see her...

Both of them have long, pointy ears. In all the games I played, only one race has those ears, Elves. I guess that explains why their outfits are green.

Never thought I would meet such a mythical creature such as elves. I am now closer to them, but I'm hiding since it would be better than come straight up to them out of nowhere. I tried to follow them by hiding behinds the trees; however, it ended fairly quickly when I step onto a branch.

A deep thud sound fills the atmosphere. Oops...

"Who's there! Show yourself!"

The male takes a defensive stance, grabbing hold of his sword—the female steps behind him, wielding a bow that is aiming right at me. I raise my hands and step out of the trees.

"Please relax! I come in peace."

After showing myself, I resume talking.

"Sorry about that. This is my first time seeing elves, so I didn't know how to react. I have a little favor too. Could you, too, help me out? I seem to be lost in this forest so that any help would be appreciated."

I came up with a lie that I was lost inside this forest and ask for their help, but before I could take another step, they started screaming.

"IT'S THE BLUE DEVIL!?!" The female starts trembling as she screams. The male begins yelling too. "No way! He exists?!"

The male grabs the female's hand and runs in the opposite direction, screaming the entire time.

"Um... Is there something on my face?"

Oh, wait. I did say I looked scary. I guess it is only natural to scream when a frightening appearance pops out of a tree. I watch the duo run away.

They are now about five kilometers away from me; however, they suddenly disappear from my sight. I try to squint to see if I could extend the range. I could see the two again. It looks like it works, but it might only add one or two kilometers.

Now that I can see further, I could see that they are running into a town. Maybe it's a town filled with elves? It might be a good idea to visit it later. Anyway, I think it is time to return to the cave...

Huh? Now that I realize, I can't remember where my cave is. Shit, I think I'm lost now. Wait! Didn't I put on the questionnaire for the power to teleport?

Yeah! I should be able to teleport back to that cave. Now, how do I activate it? Thinking back, in games, the player usually presses a button (incantation) to activate their abilities. I don't have a GUI or buttons, but maybe I could replace the button with an incantation? Worth a try.

"[Teleport]!"

...

Nothing happened. Guess that was to be expected, but now what? Wait, in anime, some characters must think about where they want to go. Let's try again!

"[Teleport]!"

Particules starts to fly into me. I could see a magical circle form above and below me. Then, after a second, my entire vision changes back to the beautiful environment that I saw at the start of this world.

Nice! I guess this means that I have to visit a place before I can teleport to it. Oh, it is getting dark... "Yawn..."

It looks like I'm getting tired. I should get to bed. Tomorrow I can play with my skills.

"Good night, new world!"

After a minute of lying down on the cave's surface, I fell asleep.
