Chapter 27: Knock Knock

Seely was a little distracted by the system's notification but hurriedly started making excuses.

"I have read a story book of a Magus who wore all white with also white hair. He also had a white staff with a white crystal in it! He wasn't the most powerful but only second to a hero. He was the wisest and kindest Magus in the story! You remind me of him so I accidentally called you how other's call him,White One!" Seely lied without batting an eye and acted excited to become an apprentice.

"Hmm.. Wisest and Kindest...also wore white...You are right! I do share the same qualities!" Kroft... agrees?

Actually after Kroft heard that, he felt an urge to carry a white staff with a white crystal in it. The image of him being the wisest magus was glued on his mind.

If Seely found out Kroft's thoughts, he might feel awkward.

'He agreed?' Both Seely and Leylin thought of.

"How about you? Do you also want to be my apprentice like this handsome young fellow?" Kroft's favor for Seely rises.

'Handsome?' Leylin thought.

'I was praised? ...I think he's getting senile?' Seely thought too.

"I am willing!" Leylin hurriedly answered while looking at his brother like he was looking at the a crazy person.

Leylin's facial expression made Seely cringe so much.

"That's good! Since these are the arrangements made by the school, I'll accept the both of you as my disciple!" The middle-aged man stroked his beard.

"Although the environment here is quite ordinary, it's enough to let you undergo the initiation!" Kroft swept his eyes over the examination room. "At least it's very quiet here and we won't be disturbed!"

"What initiation?" Leylin had some doubts.

"The initiation of a Magus!" Kroft replied.

"Now tell me, Seely and Leylin,what is a Magus to you? Seely, you go first."

"A Magus is the title we give to people with power in ancient times. These Magi all learn the principles and how to control and manipulate the energy within. They are never ending in their pursuit of knowledge and truth! It also means being a Magus is not limited to us, humans.Other kinds of demi-humans, and even other intelligent beings have Magi existing among their kind, for example, a Magus of the sea tribes, or even a Dragon Magus!"

Seely shamelessly went and said the exact same thing Professor Kroft was actually going to say after Leylin answered in the original timeline. Furthermore, he added some more things that should have been discussed by Kroft himself.

'Chapters are really useful' he thought.

"CORRECT! I couldn't have said it better myself." Kroft praised and commented. Kroft thought that Seely might become a promising student.

"Alright! Now let us begin the rites! Seely, you go first. Don't be afraid, it's very simple!"

*Clap!* The floor around Kroft softened, and transformed into a spell formation of sorts, and a strange energy came spreading from within.

The surroundings turned dark, with only the flame lit in the centre of the formation.

"Right now, give your hand to me!" Seely stretched his hand out and a larger palm firmly clasped it.

"Abiding by the rites of ancient times, I will now guide you, Seely Farlier, onto the path of a Magus!"

"Recite after me!"

"I swear! I will forever be in pursuit of the truth!" Kroft used an unfamiliar language, but Seely understood it completely, and his mouth could not help but produce the same sounds.

"I swear! I will forever be in pursuit of the truth!" As it was a voice of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old youth, there was still a little immaturity in the voice.

"Without the permission of my mentor, I swear that I will not reveal any of the information my mentor passes on to me..."

Kroft continued to recite and Seely followed suit, the two voices very soon eerily turned into one.

In the hearts of the formation, the flame suddenly grew brighter and blazed strongly….

"Congratulations on formally becoming an acolyte! Leylin, it's your turn now."

After the rites, Kroft congratulated Seely and asked for Leylin immediately.

It was the same procedure.

"Congratulations Leylin! You're also an acolyte now! Are you perhaps brothers? You have the same family name."

"Yes, we are professor."

Leylin looked down at both of his hands. After the mysterious rites, it seemed like he saw the world in a different light, yet at the same time, he couldn't pinpoint the difference.

[An anomaly has been discovered in the brainwaves of the Host!] The A.I. Chip's voice sounded.

'System, I'm not harmed, right?' Seely wanted to make sure.

[No, User.]

"It seems like there is a change in spiritual force, but I don't have any further information regarding this field, so I can only supplement it in the future!" Leylin said helplessly.

"The meditation technique in the crystal ball has already been given to the both of you, right? Take a look at it when you go back, you can already absorb the information in it now!"

"Tomorrow, come here at six in the morning!"

"You can leave now, but remember! Don't wander around!" Kroft warned.

"We'll do as you bid! Mentor!" Leylin bowed, and then walked out of the experimental lab.

'We will heed your warning, Mentor!" Seely board and followed his brother out.

"Luckily I passed them earlier; otherwise, I wouldn't even know where the dormitories are located!" When he was following the shadow slave earlier, Leylin had already let the A.I. Chip start mapping the area. Now, there was a small part that was completed, and he knew the places that he had walked past before.

"That's great, brother!" Seely praised then brought his attention to his system.

"System, did you finish mapping the whole academy?"

[Affirmative. The system has mapped the academy completely and undetected.]

'That's my system! I could see hidden doors from the map. Maybe one of them leads to the forest outside. May hunting ground for experience points hehe. I'll try them one by one when I have the time.' Seely was already planning ahead.

The areas with Magi are rather dangerous. Seely and Leylin did not wish to suffer from any collateral damage from them.

After reaching the dorms, Seely held his key.

It was a heavy, black copper key, and it was labelled '794'.

Leylin noticed it and took his key too.

"783. You? " Leylin mentioned.

"794. Too bad we're not that close to each other." Seely said with a rejected tone.

"You visit me, I'll visit you. Either way we'll still see each other during meals. We also have your plan to follow about earning magic crystal so seeing each other can't be helped."

Leylin comforted his brother. Eccentric as his brother was, Seely's presence both brings security and warmth in this world.

Right now, it was rather cold and vacant in the dorms but Leylin didn't mind it since his brother was here.

Seely would probably be a little emotional and tease Leylin if he knew.

"Really?~ You said it first so don't kick me out of your dorm ever huh?" Seely joyfully said.

"No sleep-overs allowed!" Leylin immediately.

"H-how did you know? Are you psychic and I didn't know about it?" Seely questioned, amused by how Leylin already knew how playful his personality is.

"You're my brother, it's not that weird. hmp." Leylin looked in another direction because... he was blushing a little.

'DAMN, CUTE! WHY IS CAMERA NOT INVENTED YET? WHYYY??!'

Seely was thinking that if Leylin wasn't his brother, he would totally date this tsundere guy. Too bad.

' ...wait ...what? ..eeeww... well technically we aren't brother's if we're talking about our souls but... NO WAY!' It's weird! I don't have such fantasies on the MC. He will become a husband in the future and have sons. I want to see my nephews too! and I believe he is straight! I'm man of culture... or I think I am. What the f*ck Seely! No Seely! Bad Seely!

Seely was basically having an internal monologue.

They both walked through the empty corridors, and his hair stood on end as he listened to the echo of his footsteps.

Following the room numbers, they found Leylin's room, "It's here!"

Leylin placed the key into the keyhole, and the heavy metal produced a click.

As the large door opened, the dark room automatically produced a flame, "They actually use the principles of Magi to invent a similar sound activation system?"

"Sound activation, brother? That sounds interesting. If only I can use it while hunting." Seely's mindset was now at hunting for experience points again.

Leylin ignore what Seely just said and placed his belongings down and inspected the place in which he was going to live for some years.

The dormitory was a little small and was divided into three partitions, a bedroom, living room and washroom. They were actually self-contained living quarters, and there was even a new blanket placed on the bed, it looked prim and proper.

"The environment isn't bad!" Leylin sat on the bed and took out the things that were given by the academy.

"It's quiet spacious. Hey brother!" Seely took his brother by the shoulders and made his brother face him then secretly activated the cleaning function of the system.

"Yes, Seely?" Their faces were close to each other. Seely cursed himself and why were their faces so close??? Its not like he was doing it purposely.

Seely moved backward and said "I'll leave you alone now. I'll go find my own dorm! I'll return after I settle down!"

"Want me to tag along?" Leylin asked.

"Fine~ Its fine! My dorm is probably just ahead. You go settle down too!" Seely hurriedly went outside but not before closing the door.

Leylin looked around the room.

"I could get used to this." Leylin said.

Leylin noticed his reflection on the floor. Now that he though of it. Isn't the walls gave off a little reflection of him now.

"It's clean?" Leylin concluded after touching it. It was too clean. If other rooms was used by other people in the past, then this room felt like a brand new room that was just cleaned meticulously. Leylin swore it wasn't this clean when they arrived.

"Hmmm... Seely... It must be him! How did... ? ...Nope... Let's not apply common sense to my brother. It would just give me a headache." Leylin stopped his thoughts from. going elsewhere and focused on settling down.

Seely found his dorm. Like he said, it was just ahead. Some meters ahead, to be specific.

Seely opened the door. The interior was the same with Leylin.

"Clean." The whole room became clean in an instant.

"What a convenient function. Now this is what I call a household cheat."

Seely laid down on his bed.

"Ahhh~A proper bed! Hmm.. but... "*Snap*

Seely snapped his finger and a plant had grown from the wooden desk he had. The plant stopped growing after it produced a lot of leaves. The leaves themselves patch theirselves up and became blankets.

"Next, this pillows are great but cotton pillow is nice too."

Seely willed it and the plant that had grown started producing cotton and then wrapped it with soft leaves.

"Tadaa! My very own cotton leaf pillow!"

Hmmm.. but still something is missing.

"You know what let's just redecorate everything. Grow a little here. Grow a little there. Grow, my plants. Grow everywhere." Seely couldn't hold back his excitement.

In his world, he liked to decorate his room too but unfortunately he didn't have the luxury of doing that. Besides some sunflower painting and study desk with arranged school stuff and cabinet full of clothes. That's basically it.

"The walls could be bamboos." Bamboos that had grown from his wooden desk went over the walls and started growing there.

"Ahem... cleanly...straight.. *cough* I'd also appreciate if you became flat so the space wouldn't be too occupied. Make. yourself a little thinner." Seely dared to make requests.

The bamboos stopped for a moment before following Seely's request. It was joyful for the plant elements to assist Seely.

"Great! Now for the floor.. Maybe Mats? Bamboo mats. If so they need to be thin and smalls combined together by a thin, small but strong vine. Chop Chop"

After 20 minutes of redecorating.

It's good enough. I made the colors brights since its awfully shady in here even with the light from the flames.

The walls were decorated with flat bamboos. The floor had bamboo mats too. There was a soft firm grass-like carpet covering most of the floor. There were scented flowers hanging in the upper corners of the room. He made a wooden bathtub for bathing. Made tissue-like leaves. in a corner. His wooden desk was larger. There were tiny flowers growing randomly from walls to the floor. The air was fresh. There was 2 long and large flowers with a glowing orb on it functioning like a lamp. It was a combination of light and plant magic. Though since it was created, the energy used came from the plants.

Oddly plants would always have energy to spare when it comes to Seely.

Seely sat on his bed and checked his new belongings.

"A set of acolyte robes which has defense of a leather armor." Seely equipped it with his acolyte badge pinned on it.

This look was exactly the same as the grey-robed acolytes he had seen earlier today.

Seely started to pack his things. After that, he did one more round of cleaning of his new clothes with the system's help. He planned to go out to Seely when the door was knocked.

*Knock*Knock*Knock*

"Seely?" Maybe his brother took faster on settling his stuff. Well, Seely did took some time decorating.

When he went out, the doors of the dorm beside him opened, and a brown haired acolyte walked out, "Hello! Are you a new acolyte? I am Bill!"

"Hello! I am Leylin, and I have just arrived today!" Leylin answered. Leylin thought it was his brother that was knocking but it wasn't.
