Tom Marks, the newly promoted Detective had to relocate due to his promotion. He is not only an upstanding member of the Police department, but he is also the youngest Police officer to make Detective. Upon his arrival, he notices that the law that he swears to uphold isn't always as black and white in L.A. He finds that there are two types of law, one for the criminals, and one for the rich and famous. Detective Tom Marks soon has to start bending to their rules to accommodate the criminals that he swears to put behind bars to keep his job. After an encounter with the local district attorney, Madison McKenna, he does not feel so alone anymore in his quest to uphold the law and put criminals behind bars, keeping them there for as long as they possibly can. Together they seem to be able to face anything. But Detective Marks is soon faced with a new type of evil, something he has never dealt with before, his very own demons that lead him down a path of no return. Will Madison be able to bring him back? Will performing his duties cost him everything, will he survive. Will he find love in it all?

Here is what happened last time on Licensed to Kill

As we are trying to leave, Madison explains why she has to go. A lot of the staff is not happy that she has to go and for the reasons as to why she has to resign. We arrive at the new building that Madison likes so much. Carolyn, the realtor, takes us through the building. Madison and I are standing in what would be her office. We talk about what is bothering her about the building. Madison is worried about the staff and the cost of the building. I settle her down and explain that we can take the building, and when her company has grown, she has the perfect place. Lindsay Madison's personal assistant calls her and says that a few people have left the company and want to come and work for her. I tell Carolyn that we will be taking the building.

After talking to Carolyn, I walk back to Madison. She is beaming with happiness. She runs up to me, jumps in the air, and I catch her. She kisses me and says;
