C08: Daniel - 2

"Lila stop getting me involved, for god's sake I want nothing to do with this."

Wednesday. Lunch. Daniel had been sitting at the table with Cameron, Anna still wasn't back. I called her lastnight, she was taking a break from school. Her father didn't want her back for the rest of the week. He's a bit of a worrier.

I had walked up to him, got him to come with me, and lead him to a secluded area of the highschool. And then I asked him to be my boyfriend.

"Like seriously," he continued. "Since when do you lie? And to this extent? You're winding me up in this mess and I freaking hate it. You're the one who told ME not to speak about any of this. So why are YOU making it worse?" He had a point. A lot of points actually. I couldn't let him know I thought that.

"Daniel please- what do you have to lose?" Even if this didn't work out, noone would hate Daniel for it. He won't face any consequences. "C'mon. A month, two max. I really need this."

He sighed. And thought for a moment. Sitting down together on a bench in silence, this was the third time I'd had a conversation with Daniel. The second being yesterday.

The first being when he walked into that room at the party and saw Elliot holding me up against a wall. He comforted me that night, while Elliot was passed out on the ground three meters away.

"If we do this," he turned to face me. "We need some rules."

You have to be kidding me. "Aren't I supposed to be the prude here? Telling you not to touch me and kiss me and hug me?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Not those sort of rules." As he finished that sentence, the bell rang to start the next lesson. "I'll come over this afternoon. We can discuss it then." We traded numbers and I texted him my address.

As he walked away from me he hung his head and shook it.

These next few weeks were going to be a nuisance.
