Levelling Up Cheats In The Apocalypse

In a world ravaged by a monster invasion fifty years ago, humanity clings to survival within walled cities while hunters venture outside to combat the threat. Among them is Zack, a young man who wanted to become a hunter despite his lack of awakened traits, a crucial aspect for hunters to harness their powers. For three years, Zack struggled in the hunter's academy, unable to awaken any traits, unlike his peers who swiftly manifest their powers and even join guilds. Despite the setbacks, Zack's determination remains unwavering until the very end. On the last day of school, when hope seems almost lost, Zack's dormant trait finally awakens: the cheater trait. With it comes the extraordinary power to learn cheat skills, a rare ability never seen and understood by anyone. Armed with his newfound power, Zack sets out on his journey as a hunter, determined to prove himself and protect what remains of humanity. Along the way, he will face not only the monstrous creatures that threaten their existence and others who envy and fear his power but also the challenges of mastering his unique abilities and discovering his place in a world forever changed by the invasion.

Chapter 16 - No Assistance

Dealing with the goblins was easy. Zack only had to use Auto Aim on their necks, use Instantaneous Movement to approach and target their heads before they could do anything, or just simply cleave their necks with Speed Hack. Finding them was easy, too, since they kept moving around looking for targets. They were truly itching for prisoners since they had had their infamy.

"Their stone axes are pretty good for all the uses of my skills, but I don't have time to look for anything else," Zack thought while looking around. "It doesn't look like there is much to look for here as well… the goblins should have grabbed everything that could be of any use."

If that were the case, the best way to find treasures would be to invade their homes and take their stuff. Zack was more than fine with that since those things weren't there, to begin with… they weren't on their planet either. They were invaders who killed and used humans for their own purposes. Besides, that was war; there was no time for morals.

"I am fine with that, but for the time being, I will focus on being able to fight all the time. Then I will be able to do that," Zack thought. "With three skills, I need all of them at level ten to be able to fight just fine without any issues. I need nine more levels, then."

Zack wondered if he should finally do some testing and fight without using his skills. That would be an easier decision to make if the goblins didn't always move in groups of three or more.

Considering that some people were already aware of his progress despite his young age, Zack didn't have much room for wasting time, so he decided to take his chances.

After making up his mind, Zack went deeper into the goblin's territory. He soon saw several of them running toward him. He didn't hesitate to instantly use Auto Aim and behead four of the five enemies. When the last one approached him, Zack immediately swung his stone axe at the enemy, and their weapons collided.

The impact made Zack grunt as his arms trembled. The goblin had at least as much strength as him, so he would need more than that. Still, before he could do that, the goblin raised his right leg and almost kicked him in the balls. Zack jumped backward with all his might and avoided the attack, blinking several times when he landed…

"I wasn't expecting this…" Zack furrowed his eyebrows.

The goblin charged towards Zack with a grunt of anger, its eyes filled with fury. Gripping its stone axe in its hands, the creature swung viciously from side to side, aiming to strike Zack down with each powerful blow.

Zack reacted quickly, leaping backward. He dodged the swings with practiced ease, the whoosh of the axe passing perilously close to his body. But disaster struck just as he thought he had evaded the goblin's onslaught.

His foot landed on a small pebble, sending him stumbling backward. For a brief moment, Zack's balance wavered, and in that moment of vulnerability, the goblin seized its chance. With a snarl of triumph, the creature threw its axe towards Zack's head, the deadly weapon hurtling through the air with killing intent.

Zack raised his sword with lightning-fast reflexes to block the incoming blow. The two weapons clashed with a resounding clang, sending sparks flying in all directions. Zack gritted his teeth, feeling the force of the impact reverberate through his arms. But he held firm, his muscles straining against the weight of the goblin's attack.

The weapon began to fall to the ground. Still, the goblin bodyslammed Zack, pushing him backward, and even grabbed the axe before it could fall completely… these creatures sure knew how to fight and fight well at that. Still, despite the massive waste of time, Zack felt quite satisfied… it was fun to deal with monsters like that, too.

When the monster charged once more, Zack stepped forward as well, and when the monster's weapon was swung, he avoided it by stepping to the side by a thin margin… Increasing his dexterity by twenty points worked… to the point that Zack had the chance to spin before the enemy could react and then cleave his axe on the creature's neck.

(You received 30 XP.)

"Focusing on counterattacking should work better against them. They have experience, but they are too dumb and impatient," Zack thought when he grabbed the enemy's weapon. For now, let's fight like this once between the uses of the skills; that should increase my leveling-up speed."

That short fight also made Zack use twenty percent of his SP, so he had to be more mindful of that. In any case, before moving on, Zack took a good look at where the teleportation circle was supposed to be. He was doing that whenever possible to avoid people from watching him fight, even though it was probably useless since he knew that some people could become almost invisible.
