Chapter 7

When Rei arrived at the cafeteria alongside Hana and Ai, the scarcely filled cafeteria was buzzing with activity.

"That guy, he can really eat."

"Is it his first time at the school? Why does it feel like I've never seen him before?"

"I do know the one sitting with him, it's Shao Jiang from Class Four."

"This is our classmate Baki. He took a three-year leave of absence and today is his first day back."

"Is he a delinquent? He's wearing a cast, but he's so strong. Those scars on his arms, were they all from knife fights?"

"I heard he took down the leader of a rival gang outside school and was sent here for refuge by the leader."

"Whoa! Which gang was it?"

"They say it's the Tokyo-based Hanayama Group."

That's actually true.

Baki's eyes were incredibly focused. As a martial artist, even if he didn't train, he still needed to consume a large amount of nutrients daily just to maintain the muscles he'd developed. That's why martial artists in the world of Baki are known for their huge appetites.

"Shao Jiang, wait a bit more, I'll go get a few more plates." Baki and his companion quickly devoured their steaks and he got up to head back to the cafeteria counter.

As the son of the world's strongest man, when his mother was alive, she was a famous wealthy woman. Naturally, Baki didn't lack money for meals. The reason he still lived in a small cabin on the outskirts was partly because he had no desires in that regard, and also because it was more convenient for training.

Currently, Baki hadn't even mastered the Demon form yet, let alone completed his evolution.

"Sorry, we're out of beef. Could you switch to chicken cutlets or hamburgers?" The lunch lady, looking at the plates piled high on the table, almost half a person's height, snapped out of her daze and said.

"Oh, I see... then I'll have the hamburger."

With that, he took the only ten hamburgers left on the display table.

"Kagami, before I thought you could eat, but I guess I was too shallow." A blue-haired young man said to the crimson-haired Taiga Kagami (Kuroko No Basuke).

Kagami nodded first. "I feel the same way. I think he could eat a whole cow."

Then, as if realizing something, he lowered his head and looked to his left. Where there should have been an empty seat, there was a blue-haired Kuroko Tetsuya.

"Whoa! Can you not suddenly appear like that! It's scary!" Kagami held his heart with one hand, skillfully calming himself, clearly accustomed to being startled. With the other hand, he directly grabbed Kuroko's head, ruffling his hair.

"...my hair is going to be a mess."

The timid Kuroko Tetsuya looked like a child in front of Hokuto Kagami.

Riko stood in front of the two, her eyes gleaming as she looked at Baki. Those eyes, capable of seeing through body parameters, were constantly at work.

"So, this is the nutrition needed to maintain muscles like this. Well, it's only through eating like this that muscles can reach this inhuman level," Riko commented.

In the next moment, Riko mind went to Rei.

Like Baki, Rei's muscles were also at an explosive level. Unlike Baki, who only showed off his arm muscles, she saw every part of Rei... even there.

Even the muscles there, she saw them too. Although she didn't know their strength, their length... could kill.

Whether it was limbs or torso, Rei's body had reached an explosive level.

"Is there really someone who can eat more than this?" Kagami mumbled with a hamburger in his mouth, unable to help but marvel.

Riko's gaze suddenly fell on Rei, who was heading towards the cafeteria counter with Ai.

"...Maybe there really is."

If there was someone present who could surpass Baki's appetite, it was undoubtedly Rei!

Following Riko's gaze, Kuroko and Kagami also looked at Rei... and the person beside him, Hana.

Cough, the power of human chest is incredibly profound.

Rei, who paused in front of the counter, flashed a bright smile at the cafeteria lady and placed his order, "Sister, I'd like a portion of Kung Pao Chicken with Rice, and also a Chicken Cutlet, a large Coke, she'll pay."

Hearing the word "sister," the cafeteria lady's hands stopped trembling, and a smile appeared on her face. "Drinking too much soda isn't good, let me give you some more meat. You're still growing."

A boy of almost six feet tall, who was in the middle of eating, momentarily stopped munching on his meat.

"Sister! I want the same as him!" Ai called out, following Rei's address.

"Sister, I want Tonkotsu Ramen! And a bottle of milk." Hana jumped up and said, almost leaping into Rei's arms.

For someone this size, drinking milk... isn't this depriving others of a chance to live?

Three full plates of food were brought to the table by the three of them. Most of the students gathered around Baki were boys, with only a few girls, but it didn't hinder Rei and his friends from having a normal meal.

Even though basking in the sun could fill their stomachs, the satisfaction brought by eating was irreplaceable.

Kagami said with some disappointment, "Coach, it seems your judgment isn't quite accurate. Even if they combined their meals, they still can't match what this classmate Baki can eat. Right, Kuroko?"

Kagami patted in Kuroko's position, but his hand only hit empty air. He quickly turned his head to look, where's Kuroko? Where's the little Kuroko? Where did my buddy go!

"Uh... classmate, I really can't eat if you keep staring at me like this." Rei, sitting down next to him, turned to face Kuoko, who was intently watching him eat. Rei's mouth twitched.

This guy, is he toxic?

"When did you appear?" Ai asked.

"Wow! Ghost! Senpai!" Hana exclaimed.

Kuroko's face showed no ripples, sitting at the table and politely bowing to Rei and his companions. "I just sat down, I'm not a ghost."

"...No, it's not a matter of being a ghost or not."

Being stared at while eating, Rei felt a bit embarrassed.

If it were a cute girl, he could accept it.

"Why are you watching me eat?" Rei said helplessly.

"Because the coach said your appetite might be... ah, ah, ah." Before he could finish his sentence, Kagami covered his mouth and stopped him from saying anything further.

Riko also hurried over, apologizing to Rei for the fourth time today with her hands clasped together, "I'm sorry, Rei-kun, for disturbing your meal. I'll take this child away now."
