Congratulations! Your Class Is...!

The sun rose slowly over a quiet little village, it's light casting shadows of the buildings on the ground. The streets were empty as not a single soul had awoken yet except a single figure that emerged from one of the houses at the very edge of the village.

The figure was a young teenage boy with short brown hair and bright, lively blue eyes. He was dressed in a tattered brown shirt and simple leather pants.

The boy inhaled deeply, filling his lungs with fresh air before exhaling slowly with a wide smile on his face.

"Ah, today's the day", said the boy ,"I've been waiting all this time but finally... today's the day I become an adventurer!"

With that, he broke into a run towards the village, screaming at the top of his lungs. Doors opened as the villagers came out with brooms in hand to drive him off.

"Liam!" an old man called out, shaking his fist angrily ,"You rascal! Do you have any idea what time it is?!"

"Who cares?!" Liam replied with a cheeky grin ,"Today's the day!"

He kept running till he found himself in the center of the village. A group of three other children were waiting for him around a large marble water fountain, two boys and a girl.

"Hey, guys!" Liam greeted them cheerfully.

"I see you're excited this morning", the boy on his left remarked. He had the same brown hair as Liam but his eyes were green and he wore a red shirt over his leather pants.

"Of course he is, Richie", scoffed the other boy ,"I'm sure a mere beggar like him is rearing to go at the chance to earn a single penny by himself"

The boy was dressed a little more smartly in his silken white shirt and black pants. His black hair was slicked back and seemed to glisten in the morning sun.

"Hey knock it off, Simon", the girl spoke up. She had warm orange eyes and long ginger-coloured hair. She wore a beautiful yellow dress.

"But Amie-", Simon protested.

"Don't worry about it, guys", Liam assured them as he patted Simon's shoulder ,"Simon's not wrong at all. I am eager to find out what class the world system assigns me today. So let's hope we all get great classes!"

Simon simply swatted his hand off of his shoulder but Richie and Amie both nodded in agreement. Although they weren't showing it like Liam, they were all just as enthusiastic and anxious to get their classes today.

They all stood quietly and faced the fountain as they all waited patiently. For while, nothing happened as they simply watched the water pour into the fountain.

But suddenly-

[Ding]

The sound of a bell resounded inside all of their heads at the same time. Liam glanced at his friends once more before closing his eyes.

Begin?

YES/NO?]

'Yes' thought Liam and he immediately fell into a semi unconscious state. He was surrounded by nothing but plain darkness and it felt like he was floating.

Checking subject's affinity for the four major classes...]

'Here we go' thought Liam excitedly. He had spent years training to build up an affinity for a swordsman. He'd even pestered an old retired soldier who lived in the village to teach him his sword skills.

Liam put away his thoughts and paid attention as the system ran through the list.

Checking subject's affinity for swordsman...Negative]

'What?!' thought Liam in astonishment. What was going on? Presently, there was no one in the village who had a stronger affinity for swordsman than him. So why was the system rejecting him?

But the surprises didn't end there as the system continued-

Liam's blood ran cold as the system continued to destroy any hopes he had had about getting a powerful class.

'Well, I guess that's it for the big four...' thought Liam bitterly ,'I'll have to hope for a unique class then'

The unique classes were sort of the derived versions of the four major classes but just as powerful. However, not a lot of people liked them because they tended to be a bit... unpredictable. Almost cursed even, as everyone who got one usually died very early in life.

But now, they were all Liam could hope for.

'This can't be happening' thought Liam in horror 'Am I going to end up classless?'

Although he had never actually seen them, Liam had heard stories. Stories about people who hadn't received a class and roamed the streets as mindless zombies for the rest of their lives.

But that couldn't be possible. From what Liam had heard, the people who became classless were people who never did anything to live for themselves and simply relied on others. Liam was not such a person. He always did the best within his abilities to help his family, his friends and even the village.

The voice of the world system shook him out of his thoughts as it spoke once more.

[«Attention»

Checking subject's affinity for any of the sub classes...]

The sub classes.

The sub classes were the lowest tier of classes and the most common. They were mostly everyday type jobs, like <farmer> or <butler>, with only a few adventurer type classes. But Liam still had hope.

[Searching...]

[Searching...]

'Please...please, I don't care anymore' Liam pleaded desperately in his mind 'Just give me something I can use to achieve my dreams...anything'

[«Attention»

Success! A sub class has been assigned to the subject <Liam Waylen>]

Liam finally relaxed and thought in relief 'Thank God! I can still be useful to everyone'

Now was just the matter of seeing what class he had been assigned. Hesitantly, Liam opened his eyes.

He was still floating around in nothingness but this time with a blue transparent screen in front of him.

[Congratulations:

You have been assigned the subclass <Beast Tamer>]

"Beast Tamer?" Liam frowned as he read what was on the screen ,"I've never heard of it"

[«Attention»

The subject has successfully been assigned a class. Evaluation will now end]

[Good Luck]
