The Report of Failure

"Mr. Jerome why don't you sit down?"

"Sir I apologize for the failure of catching her. On the other hand we were able to confirm that the system has chosen her." I stated sitting down in the chair. My boss called me for this meeting as soon as the girl and her family ran away. I had delayed it as long as possible to search before being confronted about it.

"That is good the system chose her but it does us no good if she isn't here!" He retorted his face began twisting in rage. "She is important and needs to be found as soon as possible search all wooded areas within 100 miles of the start area!" He demanded quickly getting louder and louder as he spoke.

"Right away sir I shall call the police to aid in this search for her." I quickly replied as I stood up to leave. Before I could reach the door though. a metal grate fell down in front of it.

BOOM! CRASH!

"I didn't give you permission to leave yet Mr. Jerome." A voice colder than ice sounded behind me. "Sit back down!" I returned to my seat trembling as if the weather had changed to winter. "Now you have worked here for a long time haven't you? You should know better than most the punishment for failure. Although it shall be lessens as you had no way of knowing which class it would give her and we're woefully unprepared to deal with it."

There in the woods was a cave at the base of the mountain. No animals dared approach the cave for fear of whatever lived inside. It had been four days since the cops started their search and had already left this area. Addy finally stepped out of the cave looking worse for wear. "Time to head back to the cabin huh?" I had been eating small amounts of berries and deer meat from my inventory as needed. I climbed the nearest tree and made my way back to the cabin.

My phone died on day three but they were still ok last I heard. after a few hours I finally arrived near the cabin. I walked around the cabin a few times and didn't spot anything strange.

'Nice' I love seeing that message. Time to head inside. I carefully made my way to the side of the cabin. Suddenly I remembered about the chat function in the party section.

I hid along the side not moving while pulling up the page. 'Hey is everything ok in the cabin?' I sent the message to Rex and waited for a reply.

*Beep*

'Cabin is clear cops left yesterday and Mr. Jerome hasn't been around yet.' Came the message a few minutes later. I finally made my way up to the front door and walked in to see my family all gathered by Rex waiting anxiously.

"Hey everyone y'all look busy or worried!" I announced walking inside laughing after. They all turned and looked at me then blinked a few times.

"Good your back we have been so worried about you!" My uncle said before anyone else could react. My mom ran over and pulled me into the tightest hug ever and was soon joined by everyone else but Rex and my uncle.

"Where have you been you were gone for days and you didn't say anything to us!?" My mom cried on my shoulder so I patted her back and tried by best at soothing her.

"Well I got good news and bad news!" I said trying to sound stressed but happy. "Good news is I solved our food issue for a while." I stated as I pulled out all the deer and wolf meat I earned from my hunting. "Bad news is apparently the cops think I'm a murder" I said the last part laughing and smiling.
