Why Is It In Front Of The Bathroom?!

2 hours later, Mr. Frank returned with a man dressed in black military attire. It was a familiar uniform for Adam since he quite literally owns one now thanks to the elite training.

"Please quiet down. We have a guest." [Mr. Frank]

The class followed his instructions.

"This here is warrant officer McGiven. He's come here to give guidance on how your military service works." [Mr. Frank]

The uniformed man stepped forward with hands behind his back.

"Good morning to you all. I know this is sudden, but you are now all considered trainee soldiers. By next week, you will be fit and ready to combat voidlings." [McGiven]

Adam rolled his eyes.

("Oh great. More training.") [Adam]

"But before that, let's check out our facilities." [McGiven]

He then nodded at Mr. Frank.

"Everyone, please stand and follow us in a single file line." [Mr. Frank]

Curious as to what was happening, the students did as they were told. They followed the uniformed man out the classroom and down the newly renovated building. During the walk, the students were able to observe the somewhat familiar structure of the building, which also clashed with the unfamiliar design and materials.

("Where is this guy taking us?") [Adam]

They took a sharp turn towards the restrooms and stopped.

"Mr. Frank, would you do the honors?" [McGiven]

Mr. Frank raised an arm towards the blank wall opposite of the bathroom, causing his own black watch to light up. The wall then flickered for a moment, but there wasn't really much change. Mr. Frank then proceeded to walk straight through the wall without a trace.

("Huh?!") [Adam]

The students were less surprised to see that their teacher vanished and more surprised that the wall wasn't solid.

"You all look puzzled." [McGiven]

He reached out to the wall and touched it. However, it didn't let him pass through.

"Anyone else would like a try?" [McGiven]

Though many students didn't move, a few skeptical students tried touching it.

"...It's solid." [Felix]

"Really? Let me try." [Adam]

Placing a hand on the wall, Adam felt a smooth and cold surface.

"Damn. You're right." [Adam]

The uniformed man smirked.

"This wall here is made of state of the art technology. Even a level 6 voidling can't put a scratch on it." [McGiven]

"Really? Can we test it?" [Orion]

"Be my guest." [McGiven]

Stepping forward, Orion summoned a wooden sword.

"Step back guys, I need a little space." [Orion]

Orion swung with all his might, causing his sword to snap on impact.

"Ah." [Orion]

He glanced at his friends with a stunned expression.

"Satisfied?" [McGiven]

"One more." [Orion]

Opening his hands, Orion created a large two handed ax.

"Adam, can you swing this for me?" [Orion]

"Me? Why?" [Adam]

"You've got the most muscle." [Orion]

Adam shrugged.

"Seems legit." [Adam]

Taking the ax, Adam raised it like a baseball bat.

"Alright boys, I've got this." [Adam]

Adam twisted his body whilst placing all his strength into the ax. So much so that his fingers sank into the handle when swung.

"HRNG!!" [Adam]

Adam let out a grunt as he struck the wall. The ax rattled as momentum and energy ran down the handle, forcing it to bounce off.

"Wow! That's hard!" [Adam]

A few students snickered.

"That's what she said." [Orion]

"Shut up." [Adam]

"Okay, that's enough. We should move on." [McGiven]

He made a parting motion with his hands, asking the students to move. The man then raised his own watch and proceeded to phase through the wall.

The students looked at each other and began to raise the watches they just received as well.

"Mana signature recorded. Access confirmed. Welcome, Adam." [???]

A robotic voice emitted from the watch.

("So, I can pass through now, right?") [Adam]

Just to check, Adam reached out towards the wall.

("Oh?") [Adam]

His hand passed through. It was a strange feeling for Adam to see a part of his body pass through something supposed to be solid.

"Go in already." [Felix]

Pushing Adam from behind, he went through the wall.

"Welcome." [McGiven]

There stood Mr. Frank and the uniformed man waiting for them.

"...What is this place?" [Adam]

He scanned his surroundings. The room opened up to become a massive training ground. Adam could recognize a few things like a shooting range and several obstacles for stamina and agility training. The wide room appeared to have several designated areas specifically designed for the betterment of the physical body. There was even a cafeteria in one of the corners as well.

"I'll explain after everyone comes in." [McGiven]
