Grasshopper legs

Hops of joy through wild grass,

Spindles of spindles among the green,

Grasshoppers with legs of brass,

Wings that lay on thi back a pretty sheen,

The sparkle from ones black eyes,

Like a star in the midnight sky,

To leap as high as you dare,

Will I ever land? Or will I live in the air?

A short life full of beauty,

Things undiscovered and bulbous,

Little things that were lost and their faint fruity,

A smell so familiar yet unknown.

How far do I plead to fly? As far as I please and as high as I might.

For I am a Grasshopper.

And this is my flight.
