87 Leaving

Disguising as a commoner, Shuang left the Ren Residence early in the morning. She joined the queuing people in the south exit gate. Weiyi and Baixue were both inside the side pockets of her sack backpack. The two transformed back to being wolves last night but transformed back again into cats just the dawn breaks. Transforming as a cats in the morning is good as it's convenient during her travel. She's till not sure if the two will transform back to wolves during night time.

Three hours of walking, Shuang arrived at the first village outside the south of the Southern City. She bought horse and a small carriage for her to use just in case the two cats will transform back tonight.

Dusk has come, Shuang stop her small carriage in the rundown small house outside the third village that she had passed the first day. Shuang step out from her small carriage when a young girl that looked around five years old, opened the door of the house.

"Ying..don't open the door." A weak voice of a woman can be heard inside the house accompanied by a coughing sound.

"Mother, there is a young man outside. I think he will rent the next room tonight." The young girl said to her mother inside.

"Good Sir, will you rest here tonight? We have one free room here. It's only twenty copper per night but it's not free of meals."

'Twenty copper?'

"Do you have water?" Shuang asked the young girl.

"We do have sir."

"Give some to my horse to drink. I will rent the room." The young girl immediately brightened after hearing Shuang's statement.

The little girl immediately brought her to the connected small room at the side of the house. The little girl opened the room and Shuang entered. To her surprise, the room is well kept despite its rundown appearance outside. The white set of bedding is very clean and it looks new even it was just made from a cheap type of fabric material. There's also a small wooden table and a stool at the side of a small window. The whole appearance of the room is comparable to the room of the regular Inn in the Southern City.

Shuang put down her backpack and heard a knock outside the door.

"Good Sir, here's the clean water for you to wash."

Shuang opened the door and the little girl handed her a small basin of lukewarm water and a clean towel.

Shuang took the basin as well as the towel. Outside, she saw that her carriage was parked under the tree infront of her room and the horse is currently eating hay grass. There's also a water at its side to drink.

"Thank you." Shuang thanked the little girl as she smiled. The little momentarily stared at her as she did not expect to hear Shuang thanked her.

"Can you lend me your kitchen to cook my dinner?" Shuang asked which the little girl nodded immediately.

The little girl brought Shuang at the back of the house to where the kitchen was. Shuang put her ingredients in the kitchen table.

"Ying is your name?" Shuang asked the girl and the little girl nodded.

"I can handle it here Ying. Go and attend your mother now."

Shuang quickly made an ultimate chicken noodle soup from the ingredients that she brought. She made three servings of the soup and gave the two servings to the little girl and her mother.

"Give this to your mother after her meal. It will helps her become better." Shuang handed a green pill to the little girl before she left the kitchen and returned to her room.

When she returned to the room, Baixue and Heiye were wolves again.

"As expected. You guys, when will you be able to fully control your transformation?"

"Mommy, this is the best that we could do for now. Cat in the morning and wolf in the evening." Baixue rubbed his white furry head to Shuang while Heiye slumped down at the corner ignoring the two of them.
