Daily Life in Oldale Town

In the evening, Chen Yue returned to Oldale Town with Peter.

They parted ways at the intersection, and Chen Yue pushed open the door to his house. Inside, he saw Flower feeding two Pokemon that looked like little rabbits.

They were petite, with their blue and red ears standing tall, and they had positive and negative symbols on their cheeks. Occasionally, a thin electric thread would burst out.

When they saw someone coming in, the two little guys immediately turned alert. The red one used its small hands to protect its companion behind it, and a strong electric current appeared on its face.

"Little Blue, Little Red, it's okay, he's my brother, not a bad guy!" Flower quickly explained upon seeing this.

Plusle then dissipated the electric current from its cheeks.

Chen Yue looked at the Brave Plusle and the Minun behind it, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Are they your friends?"

Flower nodded and reached out to hug the two Pokemon. Plusle and Minun immediately nestled closely, sandwiching Flower in between.

"This afternoon, when Uncle Gus took me to the forest to play, we happened to encounter them being attacked by a Dustox, and Uncle Gus rescued them."

"Alright, you all get along well." Chen Yue nodded and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Today, he had seen many tender mushrooms in the wild, so he took a detour and brought Mimikyu and Dragonite to the forest to pick mushrooms.

Tired of instant noodles, Chen Yue was planning to try something new and create a new dish.

He washed the mushrooms and poured water into a pot, then placed the mushrooms in when the water was hot.

Mimikyu and Dragonite watched the whole process from the side.

Chen Yue wiped his hands and turned to Dragonite, asking, "Do you want to go outside for some fresh air?"

Under the orange light, Dragonite lazily leaned against the door and shook its head in response.

It found it amusing to watch its trainer clumsily cook.

Mimikyu, on the other hand, looked at the pot with some concern. It had once eaten a type of mushroom in the wild and had fallen into a long coma afterwards, seeing countless Pikachus dancing in front of it.

At this moment, a doorbell rang from outside.

Chen Yue looked through the kitchen window and saw a woman with long blue hair standing at his doorstep, holding a package.

Without him needing to speak, Flower had already rushed over to open the door.

"Ms. Lisbeth, you're here!"

The woman's voice rang out, "It's Flower. Is your brother at home?"

Chen Yue, accompanied by Dragonite and Mimikyu, walked out of the kitchen.

As he approached, he could see the woman's face clearly.

She appeared to be in her early thirties, and even the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes did not detract from her beauty. Instead, they added a touch of mature charm to her.

Chen Yue didn't know who this woman was, so he followed Flower's example and greeted, "Ms. Lisbeth, what brings you here so late?"

Lisbeth handed the box she was carrying to him with both hands and said, "These are pastries I made. Thank you so much for taking care of our son, Peter, these past two days. I haven't seen him smile so happily in a long time!"

So, she was Peter's mother. Chen Yue understood, and he politely smiled, accepting the box containing the pastries from Lisbeth's hands.

A fresh floral fragrance wafted from inside, and through the transparent lid, one could see the delicate pastries inside.

"They look really delicious. Thank you, Auntie!" Chen Yue said.

"Then, I won't disturb you," Lisbeth smiled shyly and turned to leave.

Chen Yue placed the box on the table, allowing Flower to have a bite to satisfy her appetite. He then returned to the kitchen.

The pot was already hot, and a rich aroma filled the air. The tender mushrooms' scent made one's mouth water uncontrollably.

Chen Yue lifted the lid and scooped a spoonful of the thick soup, placing it in front of Mimikyu, saying, "Give it a try?"

Mimikyu was a bit afraid that it would faint after drinking it, but when it thought about how its trainer had personally made it, its hesitant eyes suddenly looked like it was preparing for battle.

Chen Yue found this somewhat amusing. As a Yunnan native, he could roughly distinguish whether mushrooms were poisonous or not.

Chen Yue patted his chest and assured, "Don't worry, this one is not poisonous. If you don't believe me, I'll taste it first for you!"

He took a sip and seemed to enjoy it.

He even used a fork to pick a piece of mushroom from the pot and put it in his mouth.

Perfect texture, rich broth, tender meat – the combination exploded in his mouth.

"See, it's really fine!" Chen Yue said as he scooped some soup into a bowl.

However, soon, he felt his vision blur, and his body seemed to transform.

A sense of impending doom arose in Chen Yue's heart.

Uh-oh! The experienced trainer was about to face a crisis!

Dragonite and Mimikyu noticed their trainer's unusual condition and immediately exclaimed.

Dragonite reacted swiftly, rushing over to support Chen Yue with its claws.

Chen Yue: "...I'm fine; this poison isn't too strong. Just let me lie down for a while."

Outside, Flower heard the commotion and hurried over with Plusle and Minun.

Chen Yue held Dragonite's round arm and calmly told Flower, "Our stove suddenly broke, and the soup hasn't finished cooking. You should go have dinner at Uncle Gus's place first."

Although Flower was small, she wasn't foolish. She hesitated and asked, "Are you really okay, Onii-chan? You don't look very well."

Dragonite considerately used its claws to cover his face, preserving the last vestiges of dignity for the renowned mushroom connoisseur.

At that moment, the doorbell rang again.

Flower went to answer it, and Chen Yue, under the influence of the Poisoned debuff, assisted Dragonite back to the living room.

The door opened.

It was Gus.

Gus sniffed the air and said, "What's that smell? It's so fragrant!"

Gus looked skeptical, "There's perfume with this scent?"

Gus sat down upon hearing this and said, "Well, here's the thing. I've noticed that your condition has improved a lot compared to a few years ago. How about considering going to a Pokemon school for further studies?"

This was currently outside of Chen Yue's main storyline.

He glanced at Flower and asked, "What about Flower then?"

Gus replied, "The Pokemon school has a children's section. You and your sister can go together."

At this point, Gus sighed, with a nostalgic expression in his eyes. "Time flies, doesn't it? I still remember when I first saw you, you were just this tiny."

He placed his hand on his thigh, making a size comparison and continued, "But here we are now, and you've grown taller than me!"

Feeling a bit better, Chen Yue took the opportunity to ask, "Do you know our dad?"

Gus nodded. "Of course, I haven't told you all about it until now, but since you've asked, I'll tell you everything today!"
