Chapter 57

I walked into the house quietly because I was feeling down due to what happened. I regretted talking to him about his transplant but I needed to do that in order to save a friend who wasn't ready to save his own life. I entered the hall just to find Keenan sitting chitchatting with Ana. I wondered what conversation they were having since I never thought they were close enough to have a conversation and a sweet one at that since they both looked like they were happy with whatever they were talking about.

"Cough cough", I faked a cough to get their attention.

"Oh Ash, you are back already?", Ana asked feeling a bit surprised to see me.

"Yeah. Is Jennie back?", I wasn't in any good mood to entertain any jokes from Ana so I just asked what was on my mind.

"Not yet. I'd be in my room in case you need me", she said and headed straight towards her room. I joined Keenan in the sofa to have a little talk with him.

"So how are you feeling?", I asked him immediately I sat by him but keeping a distance.

"I'm good…I guess", he answered. "Ana said….Ryan came to see you ", he added. I didn't know if that was a question or a statement to me but I had to start a conversation even though I wasn't in a good mood.

"Yeah, we just went out to catch some fun since it was too boring staying here alone"

"You could have just called me to keep you company so why Ryan?", I don't know whether the tone he was using was a jealous one or an irritated one.

"I didn't call him actually, he just happened to pass by so I decided…."

"You could have still called me", I cut me off not wanting to listen to what I had to say.

"Fine, I'm sorry I didn't call you. Better now?", I had to just take the blame to avoid further arguments.

"I guess. So what's up?"

"Nothing really . Just feeling a bit tired ", I said lazily.

"And how was your fun time with him?", he inquired. I knew Ryan's name felt heavy for him to answer due to his guilty conscience so I don't mind however he chose to address him.

"Not bad. We just had a good long talk till I brought up…", I paused forgetting I want supposed to disclose the information to him just yet.

"Brought up what?", he was curious wanting to know what I brought up spoiling the fun.

"Urhm…nothing. Never mind. So what's up with your thoughts?", I was ready to divert his thoughts to a new topic.

"I don't get you. What do you mean by that?", he asked .

"Have you decided to start you friendship all over with Ryan or you will just keep ignoring him and hating each other like before?", I made my question clear to him finally. There was utmost silence after my question which made me believe that he was very much confused and was struggling with his thoughts.

"I don't think I have an answer to that question yet", he finally said. I u der stood the situation he was in very perfectly even though I hadn't been in it before.

"Can I help you with that?", I questioned him trying to help him come out with a simple solution.

"And how are you going to do that?"

"What if I tell you Ryan is trying to commit suicide because of this situation, what are you going to do?", I asked him trying to see his reaction. My question was true though it was somehow complicated, it was true Ryan was trying to commit suicide. Beside how would you describe a situation where someone refuses the my opportunity to live?.

"Stop making jokes Ash, I'm not in the mood for such jokes. You wanted help me come out with a solution and now you are speaking nonsense", he complained. One could easily tell he never wanted to ever hear such a thing ever in his life but that was the truth.

"I'm being serious right now. You think I feel like having fun in this situation?", I asked him with a serious expression.

"I'm not ready for this Ash, I'd be on my way", he said trying to get up from the sofa but I had to prove my point. I knew it wasn't time for me to tell him the truth but he was pushing me to the wall. I pushed him back making him sit down .

"Wait here", I said and walked away heading to my room.
