Chapter 47

I woke up in the hospital, on a hospital bed in a patient's dress which I hated so much. I check the environment to be sure of where I was just to realized I was in the school's hospital . I heaved a sigh of relief because if I had been sent to a bigger hospital, my parents would have been there before I opened my eyes. The door opened and Jennie peeped through with her tiny face. She ran to hug me when she saw me standing in the room.

"You are just too stubborn for my liking", she said while hugging me. I pushed her away just to give her one of my killer looks.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry", she said and went to sit on my bed.

"How is Ryan doing?", I don't know how that just came out of my mouth but it was too late to eat it up since Jennie already heard it.

"Why do you have to worry about Ryan ?", she asked curiously.

"Urhm…. Urhm, because he was the one who was really injured", I finally got an excuse to give.

"Mmmm I see"

"Yeah, so how is he?", I asked again since she didn't answer it.

"Well, he's in the room next to yours receiving treatment since his pretty face is now a mess"

"What? Did it become that bad?"

"Not really, they stopped after you fell unconscious "

"I need to check up on him then", I said walking to the door but she stopped me.

"What do you think you are doing?",

"What does it look like I'm doing?",I questioned back.

"Ain't you supposed to be asking of Keenan now?"

"Keenan pushed me away when I tried to stop him, he's the reason why I'm wearing this stupid dress", I told her and walked out of the room leaving her alone.

I gently knocked on the supposed door of Keenan and was asked to go in by a female. I walked in and when the nurse saw me, she left us alone. I felt my eyes were getting teary when I looked at how pitiful Ryan had become. I didn't know why he became like that all of a sudden but I knew he just needed someone to talk to. I turned around and wiped my eyes before turning back to look at me.

"How…. How are you feeling?", I asked him.

"You didn't have to come here, you are not well"

"Is that how to answer such a simple question?"

"Sorry ma'am, I'm alright", he said making me smile. Ever since I got to know this guy, he had never made me smile .

"That's good news, you have to take care of yourself to keep your good looks since that's the only thing you have", I said to him while getting a little closer to him.

"I've got my brains too miss", he said.

"Okay, if you say so but I'm at least better than you". We both laughed as if we were old friends.

"I can see you are feeling better too", he said when the laughter died out.

" I wasn't sick in the first place, I just fell unconscious due to a force that's all"

"How can the daughter of a military woman have since a great fall due to a small force?"

"Watch it mister, don't let me destroy the rest of the little look you have there ". We had such a great time till we were asked to go home and that it was time for us to close from school. I asked the school authorities to keep what happened a secret from my parents because I didn't want them to create any scene. I couldn't wait to take off the patient gown on me. Apart of me wanted to stay in the hospital to enjoy the little time with Ryan since I didn't want to see Keenan during the group studies but there was nothing I could do about it.

We said goodbyes to ourselves before going our separate ways. I picked Jennie from the class and warned her not to say a word about what happened to Anna before heading home.
