"Varest...You must run your father's mission correctly. Bring glory to the human kingdom."

"Good morning, Your Highness." Varest gives a bow.

This man is the son of the Crown Prince. That's what I heard after arriving at this place.

"...Can you write?"

He asked like that while suddenly kneeling in front of him and making him can't think clearly. They move into Vanessa's personal office. Varest sits down with various types of books. Basil sitting next to him and giving him more books to be read.

"Can you read and write? If you can. Read these books in one day?"

His black eyes glanced towards the thick book. "Why should I read these books?"

Why? I also don't know. Vanessa suddenly asked me to do it...this is so complicated to explain. "Haa...She asked you for it."

I have to read these books in one day, huh?

"Yes, I can do it." He replied.

"...That's good then."

Basil waited for too long and he fall asleep on the long couch. When he woke up, the sun is still there. He got up stretching his body. That's where he sees Varest who was cleaning up or putting down the book into their original place.

"Have you done yet?"

"I'm finished them all." He answered quickly.

What? Reading so many books in half a day? I'm not dreaming, right?

"Is there something else?"

"Ah...No, Varest..."

I can't believe he can do it. Is he really 12 years old?

"Now come with me. I want to show you whole the Grand Duke mansion."

My job isn't finished.

"Thank you for your hospitality," Varest speak so formally to him.

"Yes...with pleasure."

I just feel something strange when he talks formally to me. "What a unique child. No wonder she interested with him."

They go around the Grand Duke mansion. Basil explains the room one by one. He also tells him that the room he sleep last night is his room right now. Varest only pays attention with a very serious face, without asking the reason by showing all rooms.

There is also a room that is forbidden for him to enter. Even Basil is also prohibited to come here. If you want to enter. You must have permission from the Grand Duke and his daughter.

Inside the mansion is have so many different rooms. The great hall, the main guest room, a private room, and a big library. Basil is already showing inside the mansion and now is the outside.

The outside is spacious enough. The Grand Duke is surrounded by a forest. Half of this forest belongs to the Grand Duke and his daughter. There is a training room, the main and private garden.

They stopped because see Vanessa talking with some knights.

"Vanessa was busy."

"Is there another attack?" Varest asked.

"You could say so. The human kingdom began to move again and Vanessa charge of this. She should get some rest after her long duty. She will never get some rest if the war still continues." Said Basil and then leave him fast.

"Hmm...a knight of honor from vampire country?"

Those black eyes are kept looking at her from the distance. What is the point of his gaze toward her? What is he thinking right now?
