The sound of hurried footsteps accompanied by the shouting of words and names unfamiliar penetrated Shin Minjoon's ears. He was lying on what seemed to be a bed, pulled and pushing by someone in a white uniform. His entire body felt numb, his arms and face covered in wounds.
The last thing he heard was a familiar cry from his mother, who also kept shouting and endlessly begging the people around them to treat and save him―Shin Minjoon.
When Minjoon woke up again, he found out he was in a hospital room. But this wasn't just any ordinary hospital room. It was a private one.
Feeling his throat dry, he tried to move but was pushed back by the sudden throbbing in his stomach. He winced, looking at his side and finding his mother had fallen asleep, her head on the edge of the bed.
Shin Minjoon's eyes remained half-closed, his emotions unreadable as he turned his head to the other side.
