Earthquake Magnitude 9.0

Chapter 24

After taking some shots, I felt satisfied with everything I had now. I posted my pictures on Instagram and was happy to see that my profile had more than 206 followers. 

"Hehhehehehehehehehehe I should really start banging very soon because time waits for no one."

After posting the pictures, I put on my clothes and sat behind my laptop to see what was happening around the world while I slept.

When I opened YouTube, I noticed that the news channels I had subscribed to were all talking about natural disasters.

"On the 5th of September, an unprecedented earthquake of magnitude 9.0 rocked the continent of Asia. The earthquake has displaced over 20 million people, with casualties amounting to about 2 million people. This is the biggest disaster in modern times. No one was prepared for such a large earthquake that caused this number of casualties. The number of people injured is expected to number up to 50 million. We still do not know the cause of the earthquake, but people are speculating on this divine judgement from heaven. And Asia was used as an example for the rest of the world, so we should change for the better. WHO, THE RED CROSS, and other humanitarian groups have been deployed on the grounds to help prevent more casualties. We might be on different continents, have different beliefs, customs, and lives, but we are still one people, and we hope such a disaster does not befall us."

The CNN reporter, who looked Asian, managed to finish saying this before she started to cry because the earthquake had taken the lives of many people as compared to any modern conflict. I am even sure the number of casualties might surpass the 5 million estimates, but being conservatives, they decided on this number.

"Wow, like, all this shit happened when I fell asleep. How is this even possible? "I began to ask myself while watching pictures and videos of people rummaging through debris to pull out people and valuable items. 

A certain picture of a crying girl around the age of 5 holding a burnt doll while standing in front of a broken skyscraper had me burst out in tears.

Looking at more pictures of children crying and looking through debris for their parents made my heart hurt. I had become sad beyond measure. I went to an online platform and donated 5000 USD to help the people going through this hard time.

Right now, I have a little over $7000, but I was happy to have donated the money for the good cause of helping the people going through pain.

I was not surprised when I noticed that all sporting activities had been put on pause for the time being. The devastation was just beyond measure. As a person with direct African roots, Asia has always been a continent that interests me greatly. 

Everything was just so different there. East Asia is so different from West Asia that you might think they are on different continents. Asia was not like Africa and Europe, which had a common pattern of passing through. 

All these things made the continent a special place as compared to the other two. And with the earthquake, I was happy that the East and West were finally coming together to put aside their issues and resolve their differences.

When I finished watching the latest updates on the earthquakes, I immediately went to the channel of the woman who had been saying something was coming. Last time I used her face as a reference for something intimate, but today I was not in the mood.

What she had been saying for the past 4 days, I had experienced, and it was no joke. I even kind of think the earthquake is related to what she has been saying.

"The forces beyond the horizon are gathering up. You guys should prepare yourself because very soon the world is about to be turned over. I advise you that the earthquake that happened in Asia is just the first of many natural disasters to come. Prepare yourself, humans, because humanity is on the brink of extinction."
