25. The capital(?)

You ask why he didn't just order to have them out of sight and drive far away?

Well, these demonic zergs were peculiar in the fact that they chased behind moving objects disregarding the opponent at the front!!

Anyway, the duke took a record 10 minutes to actually kill it off, which was the longest he took to kill such a mid-tier demon!

As he entered the car without a single hair touched, he heard the small remark, which felt like a jab at the moment, " Rather than chopping of all its arms, chopping down its head followed by hind appendage would suffice..."

Of course, it was Yuki who said it, before going back to sleep.

The Duke, who had killed demonic zergs more than the days this child had spent in this world since birth: "..."

The Duke was living on the top floor of the single high rise in the Empire.

This rise was in stark contrast to the other buildings which were built to show extravagant architecture in their finish and the amount a noble had spent by them to flex...

This tall building with 35 floors stood tall among others, just like the Duke who looked domineering just by standing there... this also served as a watchtower of the capital, which by size was not that large, considering the world population wasn't very large, to begin with. Still, it spread across vast land and just from one look one could tell that this was the place the nobles lived in... it was sparkling and luxurious.

Yuki would have liked to stay in that small mansion of hers, she much preferred that vintage place to this high-end display...

But she will make do with it...

The best part was that, this place was built in an open space, as a result, the area surrounding it was a huge practice ground(?), she assumed, when she saw soldiers doing their daily training.

The Duke also gave a timely description, " This is the HQ of the Sun Army. The soldiers do their training here and are also trained here."

Yuki knew that it was meant for him and she became a bit restless, the last three days, she hadn't been able to work out so, this open ground was very inviting to her... in the end, she will be leaving here for an indefinite period so, she wasn't shy to ask, " I'd like to move around a bit." She spoke just when the car stopped at the entrance of the building.

The Duke didn't see anything wrong and said, " I'll ask someone to bring you to the individual training area. First, go and freshen up a bit", though the appearance of zerg was sudden, they still reached the capital in time.

It was just around dawn and the sun was still playing around in the horizon so, it still wasn't late for her morning practice.

The top floor was divided into two floors, with the upper floor consisting of 1 guest room, 2 secondary bedrooms, a master bedroom and 2 study rooms, while the lower floor had a kitchen, a simple gym, 2 storerooms and a huge lounge area which led to the huge french window that led to a simple garden and the balcony.

Yuki didn't have acrophobia and her curiosity led her small legs to cross that open french window and---

This was the tallest point in the whole of the capital... Yuki finally saw something of this grandeur for the first time and her heartbeat quickened.

The training ground was huge, probably larger than two football grounds combined, the sun was finally up the horizon and cast its golden halo over the world, the capital, a little distance away, was buzzing with people moving around...

Yuki felt like she hadn't seen the world this 'normal' in years...she was always there living inside her own little world all these years so, somehow this bustling world made her a bit overwhelmed... because she knew, this was what a peaceful world was supposed to look like!

The barricade in the balcony was high so, she still had to see through the gap... this was the nth time she hated still being a child...just then, she felt a small gasp from beside her... she guessed, Aki had woken up.

"Onee-chan... it's so beautiful~!!!", came his high-pitched voice, it seems he had already forgotten about what happened this morning.. well, it was for the best.

Yuki patted his head and told him, " I am going out for a bit. "

"Eh? Aki will also come with you then!"

"I'll go out for a run and practice my sword."

"I'll go! I'll go! It's been a while since I saw Onee-chan's sword dance"... it was the name he had given it because it was very elegant and looked beautiful!

Yuki simply gave him a nod and asked him to change his clothes...

By the time Aki got ready, Yuki had already taken out her sword and was waiting with the Duke, who had changed his mind and had decided that he will take them there personally.

Just like that, the family of three walked out.

After they took the elevator down, two guards followed them to the training ground for safety purpose.

After reaching the ground, Yuki did some basic warm-up exercise to get that dullness from the travel out of her body, the Duke was the same.

Aki wanted to mimic them, but doing that without knowing one's body can be bad so, Yuki asked him to stop and wait. After she was done with herself and her body warmed up, she helped Aki to lighten the stress, it was the simplest of the radio exercise where one needs to simply stretch out one's body from down to up, it was the most basic forms and shouldn't hurt him...

After a while, Yuki determined that he was ready and slowly started to jog, her rhythm was stable and she took her steps steadily, even as a child, her form was clean and she didn't rush it.
