CHAPTER 17: CAPTURED
Around 8 p.m, Lucy is carrying some grocery bags as she approaches her street. She gets the sensation she's being followed and this causes her to look back. As soon as she faces forward, she gets whacked on the head with a stick, causing her to fall unconscious.
The men dressed in black, stuff her in a sack and carry the unconscious body away leaving the grocery bag and groceries scattered on the floor.
SOME MOMENTS LATER....
Karen is pacing to and fro worriedly, checking the time persistently in the sitting room. She takes her phone to call Lucy again and it ends up going to her voicemail for the fifth time.
Karen is already in tears as at 10 p.m, when she decides to carry a torch and look for her friend. Lucy called her when she had just left the grocery store, which is just ten minutes away from home. She's quite worried as to what happened on the way and tries to push away all negative thoughts.
After working about 20 steps far from the house, she notices the groceries scattered on the floor. She lets out a loud gasp with her hand on her mouth and face drained out of its colour.
What she feared the most has finally come into realisation. Her mind wanders to what she can do. She's scared to death at the dreaded possibility of Lucy being killed. She remembers Lucy's boyfriend, Koven. Yes! She can go and tell him to stop, but how would she find him? She suddenly remembers when Lucy discussed meeting Koven by 9:30 p.m in the woods, she usually patrol. She thought and hoped he would still be there waiting for her, so she began her race to the woods. Koven is at their usual spot getting a bit worried at the fact that, Lucy for the first time is not already waiting for him. Just as he's about to go back into his realm, he sees Karen running and calling his name. He waits until Karen calms her breathing down from all the panting.
"Lucy...it's Lucy. She went to the grocery store and is not back yet. I saw the groceries on the street leading to our home. I am her friend, Karen", she just rambles. "Oh No! No! No! we need to find her, she can't afford to get hurt. I hope she will not lose the baby." Koven blurts out in uptmost worry.
Just by that statement, Karen widens our eyes, "wait! she's pregnant?! That's another thing she has kept for me, just great! "Oops, I wasn't meant to say that, so have you gotten any cal...", just then the ringing tone of Karen's phone interrupts.
Karen gives koven a sharp look, "it's Lucy, pick up!, Koven yells. "Hello? Lucy?" Karen asked with much uncertainty.
Just then, a deep husky voice is heard from the other side, "Lucy has been captured, if you know what is good for you and her, get her boyfriend to the phone. This is between us and the werewolf." Koven widens his eyes before taking the phone from Karen, "I'm here, what do I need to do?"
"Good. I will direct you to where she is so we can discuss some things. Don't try any funny business, we are aware she's pregnant and I'm sure you don't want either of them hurt. One last thing, leave the phone on the call." "Please don't hurt her. I will comply", Koven pleads,right before telling Karen to go home and promising to bring Lucy home as soon as possible.
Reluctantly, Karen leaves the woods to head home. After an hour, Koven says into the phone, "I'm here." Just then 2 sturdy guards hold and bound his two hands to the back leading him into an old warehouse with bad lights. Lucy is tied onto the chair. She's sitting up unconscious, sweaty and untidy from all the manhandling. Koven tries to get to her but he's restricted from doing so. The husky voice which belong to a muscular person with Lucy's phone in his hand, "We injected a substance into her system, don't worry it doesn't harm. We will let her go, as long as you answer my questions and give us what we want."
Koven grits his teeth and clenches his fist at the words the husky guys spat out. He then forces himself to speak, "what do you want to know?"
