Uncle John's worry

If anything, Lucas was the one anomaly of the group. He didn't tell them of his wealthy background, thinking they would treat him differently like always. In the past, whenever he would tell someone who his father and mother was, he would get treated differently, he didn't want it this time.

Another 6 hours passed by without any trouble, Lucas had made a lumber axe head and took a large tree branch to use as a hammer and cut some trees.

While the others in a span of an hour could take down around 3 of these small trees, Lucas was able to get 5 on his own. John, Sean, and Barney used their strengths together to pull the trees and it was taking a huge toll on John who was not in a good condition.

With age, the stamina of the body keeps decreasing, there is even a thing that the stamina that one build before the age of 25 stays at that cap for the whole life, and it only decreases with time. John was good at this stuff but he hadn't done it this much in all his life.

It was just for fun that he went to the cabin that he build over the years and live inside it and use tools made of iron that were so sharp that these stone ones couldn't even be compared at any level.

Yet, John was happy inward and Ella could see, he was an accountant back on Earth and hated the job but couldn't quit because of the pressure of providing food at the dinner table every day.

Ella was very happy while she talked to Sarah and cooked Vixenox's corpse and the bunny. She would glance at her husband and kids from time to time with a warm smile that didn't go unnoticed by Lucas.

At last, he went to Sean with seriousness and made him realize that they needed his skill now more than ever. Sean was a bit scared to use the abnormal skill but looking at his father, his will became strong and he finally used it on him.

At the time, John felt an increase in his strength that was by far the weirdest thing he ever experienced, it was as if someone injected pure concentrated caffeine right into the vein of his hand.

He went to a small tree and gripped the end with all his strength, at once, he pulled the damn thing without any help and took the tree out with the roots, loosening the soil a little in the process.

Lucas asked for the stat increase number from John and was surprised to find that John's strength stat had become greater than even his for this one minute.

He didn't waste this time and pulled three trees out only to sit on the ground near his wife for a while in order to help his exhaustion go away.

Sean had used five mana points at once in order to provide the buff, there was a two-minute cooldown after it and he still had 10 left to use. es, his mana was better than many in the group, even Lucas.

In the span of these six hours of continuous work, Lucas got to know a single new thing, that they all had an increase in strength points after this vigorous work schedule. It was at a different time but they all got it, Lucas was the first because he was doing the work faster in order to have some free time afterward to sit with Sarah, next was John, then Sean, and lastly Barney.

There were 86 logs at the side of the shelter that needed to be chipped from a side in order to make it sharper.

"Aside from the big trees, the area of five meters around this shelter had been cleared of the thin-trunked trees," John said while taking a dried Vixenox's flesh piece and biting out of it.

"Yeah, we might have to venture a little further," Lucas said while getting some complicated gazes.

"To tell you the truth, I am not comfortable taking my sons out there and neither you, so I might go on my own to find some food," John said and got up, he used his skill and waved the winds around the smoke to make it dissipate in the atmosphere, it had become a necessity to not bring any more people near them.

"You want to go alone now when we have six people in the group to help up our survival? Uncle John, I don't think it's alright."

"Yeah, Dad, why do anyone of us have to go? Let's stay here until the danger is gone." Sean said with his eyes on the ground.

"I was not talking about that, Sean. And the danger you talked about isn't going to go away for the next eight days. Hell, I don't know if it ever will go away." Lucas said with a serious face which made Ella and John look at each other.

Lucas was younger than their sons and he talked so maturely while their sons just sat around thinking when this all will get over. It was not their mistake, this situation was normal, yet Lucas was abnormally mature and level-headed in this condition.

Even Sarah had somewhat become like him and it was all because of the death fight they had with the plant. If they would have not killed the thing that time, Lucas was sure that they would be cowering inside the shelter too but they killed it showing that Humans were always superior in intelligence and perseverance.

"Uncle John, do you know how we got near that big plant?" She said while pointing inside the shelter, the corpse was kept inside in order to preserve the water inside it as long as possible.

"NO, I don't, but we saw one on our way here, the big mouth was moving again and again and I was sure that it had something inside it. We ran after seeing it." John said after shivering for the first time.

Lucas got to know that there were more of these plants here than he anticipated.

"You were all lucky, we saw it when it was hiding and our gap wasn't even a meter. We were inches near it yet we killed this thing with our teamwork." Sarah said which got a nod from Lucas, he was inwardly happy that sarah was on his side with this one.
