Learning his ways.

While Jasmine entered Highschool, James continued managing his new convenient store in Shinjuku and began to raise it's popularity.

Due to James' good looks, Women customers poured like rain in the convenient store everyday.

And after the store became quiet again, James reminisced unto the old memories he had made after they arrived at Japan.

It was several years ago, When James and Jasmine arrived Japan and decided to live within the Shinjuku area.

There, Their daily lives drastically changed, Adapting while learning Japan's culture gave them both a hard time.

But due to James who had knowledge about over a dozen of languages being used in several countries, Jasmine quicky learned and adapted to their new life.

Jasmine's intellect was not be belittled with, She inherited her mother's genuineness, Jasmine's learning capabilities were nowhere near your average.

She exceeded even James' expectations and fully adapted to what James had thought her.

In a span of five years, When she reached twelve, She was already fluent in Japanese and indulged herself into learning more.

James who was always pestered by her daughter ran out of ideas to teach, And ended up teaching her some Self defense martial arts.

Close Quarter Combat, Or CQC for short.

A martial arts with similar features as Wing Chun who focuses on speed and accurate aiming within a certain radius.

While James formed a stance with open palms, Jasmine rushed towards him and bluntly threw a mixture of combinations.

James continued deflecting every attacks that Jasmine threw at him, "Your posture is a mess, Put more strength towards your lower body." He uttered while they vigorously continued fighting in close combat.

Jasmine who continuously threw different attack patterns, Listened and heeded his father's words, She then placed more strength towards her lower body and gained more stable balance in posture and was able to throw her punches more accurately.

"That's it, Now as you throw punches, Make sure to aim accurately towards your opponents vital points. Such as the throat, Collar bone, Ribs, Jaw, The temple, Side Abdomen where their kidney lies and especially their knees."

The two continued fighting while James nonchalantly gave Jasmine advices on which place she should attack, "Mix some kicks in your combinations, Attack the knees from the inside, Make your opponent lose their balance. When they lower their guard for even a second, Immediately target their throat. Make them unable to breathe, And end them with a swing towards their Jaw."

Jasmine who was eager to learn, Was thought strictly by non other than his father, James.

As time passed, James increased the tension of their training and even taught her the basics of knife wielding.

Well, Learning how to use a knife and how to fight against a knife user was different, But James who was eagerly strict on such things, Thought her both that in the end made her a capable woman defending herself from danger.

As she grew older, Her personality changed and resembled James when he was still in his prime.

Her cold gaze which were hard to predict on what she ought to think, Her stable movements which made her well prepared even in peaceful mornings. Her keen awareness which made her heavily guarded at all times.

Her whole well-being changed after enduring her father's harsh training.

But in the end, James felt glad that her daughter wouldn't get easily bullied. With her magnificent fighting skills combined with her excellent intellect, James was sure that if any danger would arise, Jasmine could easily outmaneuver it.

.....

...

But after being called in by the principal for alot of times made James doubt if it was the right thing that he taught his daughter self defense.

James sighed as he stared at the window of his store, "Jenna, Please make sure your daughter doesn't overdo it." He said in a whimpering tone.

Meanwhile in Shindo High, Jasmine was nonchalantly followed by Chizu Hori. A first year student which was the same as Jasmine, And their classrooms were also located beside each other.

"Jasmine-chan! Sit here!" Chizu yelled happily.

Jasmine sighed and went to Chizu's table.

The bustling sounds of clamoring students enveloped the entire cafeteria while Jasmine and Chizu sat at a table silently eating their lunch.

"Jasmine-chan, Are you free later? My friends are going somewhere with the third years." She said.

Jasmine chewed her food silently and glanced at Chizu, "Umm, I can't. I have a curfew." She replied.

"A curfew? For the Demoness?" Chizu bluntly said and giggled.

"Stop calling me that Chizu-san, If I'm not home by 5:00pm, My dad's gonna kill me."

"So I guess a demoness can still feel fear once parents get involved. Haha!"

"You'd probably go home early if you knew my dad."

"Haha, Anyways. It's sad that you'd not be able to go with us. They say there's a newly opened Karaoke bar that's been famous in Shinjuku right now."

"Oh so you're all going to a karaoke?"

"Yeah, The third year senpais wanted to have a party. I guess it can't be helped for you. I'll just tell you all of it the next day." Chizu excitingly said.

"Yeah, Sure. Make sure to tell me." Jasmine replied in a gentle tone as she stared at the Excited Chizu.

After that, They all went to their classrooms and purposely did their Student roles.

Jasmine didn't realized yet, That the conversation they both conversed during lunchtime would be the last one.

...

The next day, Jasmine dropped her spoon as she stared at the television screen which the daily news was displayed.

"What happened Jasmine? Why are you trembling?" James asked.

Jasmine had a pale expression in her face as her body trembled, Her heart rapidly beat as she stared directly at the television infront of their table.

*Daily news*

*Seven students went missing after some students saw them entering the famous Dog Karaoke.*

*The operator from the Karaoke witnessed that the students who went missing didn't leave the Building and the Operator got shocked after he went to their Room.*

An image of the Karaoke room which the seven students rented was totally in a mess, Bloodstains were seen in the walls while food were spilled everywhere including at the Karaoke screen.

*Based on the neighboring rooms stories, They didn't heard anything that occured at the Room next door. No wall banging, No screams, Nothing. It was as if no one was there.*

*And by the building's blueprints, There was only two exits within the Entire building, But those two exits had surveillance cameras. But the cameras didn't caught anyone passing through at the second exit.*

*The people had now concluded to bring in paranormal experts since their disappearance were quite superficial.*

*The police investigators that had spent the entire night investigating for clues could not find a single one. Since their room was located at the third floor, And each staircase had surveillance cameras intact within the corners.*

..

While the news reporter continued explaining, Jasmine shivered and was deeply shocked after seeing Chizu on the list of People who suddenly went missing.

"Jasmine, What's wrong?" James spoke in a worried tone.

"Papa." She uttered, "My friend. Went missing all of the sudden." As she stared directly at the eyes of James.

James felt worried for her daughter but didn't feel any ounce of anxiousness towards the missing student Jasmine mentioned.

"Papa, Where can she have disappeared to!?" Jasmine asked worriedly.

James continued to eat, "I don't know, And just let the police handle it." He said in a serious tone.

Jasmine flinched after seeing her father's cold gaze.

She knew that James wanted to let her live quietly, Out of Public's eyes due to what happened to her mother back at California.

Jasmine was told that it was due to a robbery that her mom died, And James told her daughter to always avoid danger. Since she's the only one left that James have.

Jasmine who saw the sincerity in her father's eyes, Vowed to stay out of trouble and would not ever let his father be worried.

By the time she became a high schooler, She promised to stay out of trouble that would worry her father. But her promise immediately broke after encountering Delinquents.

But mere troubles such as school fights wouldn't worry her father, Since back then. At the day her mother died, She believed that the robbery story she was told of were just mere cover-ups.

The day she was entrapped unto that secret chamber was the day she realized that her father, Wasn't an ordinary one.

An underground chamber filled with dozens of guns, Was what she had seen at that time. The scenery she witnessed beneath her parent's bedroom was still vivid in her memories.

For that, She had truly understood what her father meant by staying out of trouble.

But Jasmine, Who was now fond of her friend, Chizu Hori, Felt heartbroken knowing that her one and only friend went missing so suddenly.

"Papa, I'll be heading out now." She said as she wore her school shoes.

"Okay sweetie, And hey."

Jasmine stopped and turned around to see his father, "You better stay out of trouble." James said in a composed yet demanding tone.

Jasmine gulped and nodded as she left their house and went straight towards her school.
