Kira's speech and orders only came after Blink had left the battlefield. Knowing a mere recruit was even forced to join this battle and sustained such injuries deeply hurt him and he was determined to kill everyone responsible for this. Even though Kalos explained Blink simply chose to fight for his own personal reasons, Kira still didn't feel obliged to accept such a half baked reason.
