Chapter 7 - Han Heng

Once the elder's voice rang out, Sun Kang broke a smile in his face and said, "No, elder. I don't have such plans."

"However, I plan to make him suffer. If I couldn't subdue him when he first commanded me to deliver the medallion in my hands to him, I will be totally unrecognizable by now."

"He would have beaten me blue black, which I am sure nobody will do anything about, including the great and esteemed elders of the sect, since the weak are irrelevant and valueless in your eyes."

Then looking at the pale-skinned, severely injured body of Duan Rong that writhed in pain on the ground, Sun Kang said further, "After calling me a worm several times, I am trying to show him what being a worm is. Also, I am trying to show him that one day, a worm could grow into a mighty dragon that will have immense wings emerge from its back and cover the sky while overshadowing the earth."

"And what I am trying to say in essence is that, nobody's fate is really set in stone, once one takes charge of one's destiny by being the driver, and not a passenger that will be driven wherever the carriage goes. So, for me, I command wherever my carriage goes. The destiny set for me by the world can't decide anything for me."

Immediately Sun Kang said that, and not waiting for the elder's response, he kicked Duan Rong heavily in the chest that Duan Rong was sent flying for about four feet away.

While the kick which was a powerful kick that carried several tons of force, as it was amplified by a layer of violet Origin Energy that enveloped his feet, Duan Rong's whole chest instantly caved in with many of the bones that formed his ribcage sticking out of his chest and abdomen.

"You!" The elder suddenly said in anger and with a loud booming voice that caused the entire Outer Court Disciples residence to tremble.

Besides, the voice was so powerful that it even caused the blood flowing in the Outer Court disciples to roil, and their ears to become temporarily deafened. Even the air around them became like furious gales of winds.

When the entire atmosphere in this place settled many seconds later, without a single word being uttered by that elder who spoke in a seemingly measureless anger a few moments ago, everyone suddenly got the feeling that the elder was thinking of ways to severely punish Sun Kang for his unbridled and extremely disrespectful action towards him.

"I would like to know, what actually happened to you when you were sent out with others to get cultivation resources? Because, having gone through a lot of records in the past, including yours, Hu Cheng, you were quite the weak, fearful and easily intimidated one."

"You always hid behind your stronger colleagues to help you ward off bullies that will come at you in the residence. So, how come you suddenly became this enlightened and oppressive overnight?"

"Although I am impressed by the words from your mouth and wouldn't pursue the matter of you disregarding me, I would however like to know what really happened to you." The elder asked in a surprisingly soft manner, shocking the other elders who were scanning the whole place with their scanning senses.

"Great Elder Xiong Yan who is a really strict disciplinarian has actually gone soft for Hu Cheng. Unbelievable!"

"Once Great Elder Xiong Yan takes interest in Hu Cheng, his relevance in the sect and his overall progress shall skyrocket. Damn! What are the Heavens doing now? Don't they see me and make me this fortunate?"

"I don't know how Hu Cheng did it, how he was able to grow this kind of strength and bravery overnight, but I absolutely believe that he is not yet worthy of someone that Great Elder Xiong Yan will give his attention to and try to nurture using part of his resources."

Immediately Great Elder Xiong Yan, the oldest and highest-ranked Outer Court elder spoke in a rather soft manner to Sun Kang, despite the disrespectful action that Sun Kang did, the voices of the astonished Outer Court disciples began to ring out one after the other before forming into a cacophony of noises.

"Silence!" Great Elder Xiong Yan said with a booming voice that instantly caused the air in this place to turn into a powerful gale of wind that pushed the disciples gathered below backward.

"Let's listen to Hu Cheng!" He said further.

Sun Kang took a deep breath, he then bowed respectfully and said once he straightened himself, "Actually, Great Elder Xiong Yan, I had died along with others at the place that I went to collect cultivation resources for the sect. We were killed in the most brutalizing manner possible by some enemies who ambushed us."

"But fortunately for me, I was saved by a benevolent expert who came from the depth of the cave that I had died in, who then impacted certain life-changing words into me."

"Those words got to me and caused me to change my outlook on cultivation, our world, and life in general. Those simple words resurrected and massively reinforced my previously dead conviction to become strong to the point where I can independently roam the heavens and earth without fear."

Once Sun Kang said that, like he was saying that to himself, his eyes became steely and filled with a light of determination that even caused the elders who were focusing on him with their scanning senses to be astounded beyond measure.

'What words did that expert say to him to cause him to develop this gaze of seemingly unbreakable resolve?'

Out of curiosity, Great Elder Xiong Yan who shouldn't be concerned about whatever anybody told Sun Kang, couldn't help but ask, "What did that expert tell you? I would like to know."

Great Elder Xiong Yan just couldn't resist the temptation of knowing what that expert said to Sun Kang that made him become this resolute and determined.

While Sun Kang who of course knew that they were going to ask him what that expert mentioned to him, answered with his lips stretching into a smile, "The expert said he saved me because I have a really bright future ahead of me and would love to build a karmic connection with me. Then he mentioned further that I was going to become a top-tier cultivator that can summon rainstorms and overturn the heavens with just the slightest wave of my hand."

Hahaha!

Many of the elders who were intently listening to what Sun Kang was going to say, suddenly burst into raucous laughter in their respective rooms at Sun Kang's self-made words.

"So, that's it? Hahaha."

"Which expert must have said that? How does he know you will become an expert that will cause sunny skies to darken and raging rainstorms to appear? Must be a clown. Definitely."

"And I was listening intently thinking it will be some words that will monumentally change my view of life and cultivation. Ugh! What a waste of my time."

Only Great Elder Xiong Yan produced a slight smile in his face as he sat cross-legged on the ground in his room.

He then said without any perceivable emotion in his voice, "Well, you could definitely become a powerful expert in the future if you do your best to cultivate and develop your battle prowess."

Once Great Elder Xiong Yan said that, he shut out his ears and closed his eyes to resume his comprehension of a particular art that he studied.

Seeing that Great Elder Xiong Yan wasn't saying anything again, Sun Kang looked at the Outer Court disciples who were gazing at the medallion in his hand and said in a rather cold and arrogant manner, "My offer still stands. If you want the medallion in my hand, come forward to accept it. However, after today, I want no one troubling me, or I won't spare you. What I did to that fool will be much worse if you try to irk me."

"Imagine a worm at the third-layer, Common Law Warrior stage speaking to us like he is something to be respected and feared. Just imagine that!"

"I would have loved to come out to challenge him for the medallion, but I don't know what bag of tricks he is still hiding. For him to have such confidence in facing whoever will come out to challenge him, must mean that there is something else he is totally concealing from us! What a cunning worm."

The moment Sun Kang mentioned that in a manner that he seemed to not care about anyone of them, immediately got the disciples angered who then started dishing out scathing remarks at him.

However, Sun Kang didn't care about their negative criticisms. He only produced a smile in his face as he waited patiently for whoever will come out soon to challenge him.

But he didn't wait too long as someone who had an impressive physique and was pretty much taller than him, or more precisely, than the body that his soul had taken over, suddenly walked out of the crowd of disciples with a great disposition and bearing, and with pride written all over his seemingly chiseled, really handsome face.

Sun Kang saw this person and his gaze immediately turned sharp. He could vaguely perceive that there was a slumbering tyrannical strength and power circulating within the body of this fourth-layer, Common Law Warrior stage cultivator.

While this person who was called Han Heng, the seventh child of the most powerful cultivation family in Prosper City, broke a slight smile in his face and said without any form of arrogance in his tone, "Actually, I never needed the medallion, as my family are wealthy enough to provide all the consummate items that I will ever need for cultivation."

"However, because of your challenge, and seeing how powerful you are since you easily took down a fifth-layer, Common Law Warrior stage Body cultivator, someone I believe I might have a great time defeating, I decided to come out to ask for a one-on-one battle of proficiency with you."

"So, please make your attack first. Or get ready to receive mine!"
