Chapter 29: Late for School!

It was early on a Monday morning, which was the next day. Azrael woke up to find Alex Bayly sleeping peacefully by his side, and facing him.

This was the first time he saw her sleeping, she looked so peaceful and adorably cute. Her lips had a slight opening in the center which made them even cuter.

Her shut eyelids gave the feeling of rest, she slept on her side and was facing Azrael directly. One of her arms was on Azrael's right side.

Azrael was sleeping on his left side and facing her, while Alex was sleeping on her right side and facing him.

Alex had slept an hour past her alarm clock. Maybe it was because she wasn't in her room to hear her alarm ring or probably because of the presence of Azrael, either way, this was the first time she slept so peacefully.

There was no worry in the world, not a single thing bothered her. She was completely at the mercy of Azrael who also found that he didn't wake up with any form of the usual head throbbing and aching pains.

He was completely fine, in fact, he felt the sleep was too peaceful for his liking.

"Good morning love birds..." from the side, Bianca Zul had a creepy smile as she behaved as if she was sitting down with no chair to support her, her ghostly figure was sitting in the air.

Azrael had one of Alex's arms over him so he decided to be patient so as not to wake her. Thankfully Alex couldn't hear Bianca Zul speak if not she would have been awakened by her loud voice.

Azrael ignored his dead aunt who didn't know anything about boundaries and personal space. She followed him everywhere, every time and that used to piss him off, but now he just got used to having her around.

He stared lovingly at Alex who was sleeping close to him. He felt her warmth and the bliss surrounding her sleep.

'If only I could have my soul mate, I would have nothing in this world to worry about. No one could stop me, nothing could stand in my way' He was deep in thought as he stared at her.

She suddenly opened her eyes, it was almost as if she had heard his thoughts. She looked and saw Azrael staring right back at her.

"What are you doing in my room, and on my...?" She got up like she had been stung by a bee and took a look around her environment. She discovered she wasn't in her room but she was in fact in Azrael's room.

She felt embarrassed and walked out without saying another word.

'Why does it feel like I felt him speak even if he wasn't exactly speaking? it was like there was a barrier blocking me from hearing his words but they weren't coming out his mouth.' Alex Bayly thought as she walked out of the room.

She could feel him talking to her even if his lips were not moving, she could guess that he must have been thinking instead of speaking, but she couldn't decipher what the exact thoughts are.

There was a thin veil that separated her from knowing his thoughts, this veil was there because their hearts hadn't fully connected, there weren't connected soul mates at the moment.

Alex checked the time and saw that it was 7:50 am, just 10 minutes to 8 am, and the assembly starts at 8:30. She was going to be late.

'Shit, I'm going to be late' She thought as she rushed into the bathroom without thinking about anything else.

Azrael also got up and wondered, 'could she possibly hear my thoughts? That is both good and a bit scary. If she finds out all the things I feel for her, she would possibly send me out of her house. I have to be careful about what I think about when she is near...' He thought as he looked on in a pensive manner.

Bianca Zul's ghostly apparition who was looking on from the side could detect that something deeper was going on. she floated down to the side of Azrael Herrington and tried to put a loving hand on his shoulder, but the ghostly hand just fell right through his body.

"Why do you look sad?" She asked as she sat right next to him.

"I love her and I think she loves me, but she just keeps me at arm's length because she fears the consequence. I think she is very close to hearing my thought, my thinking must have triggered her awake."

"That is great, " Bianca Zul's ghostly apparition responded. "For her to be able to have an inkling that you had a thought means she is close to meeting the first requirement to being your soul mate."

"You two are not the usual human couple, you're both special. This is also going to be portrayed in your bond together. There are three stages of connection you will pass through to solidify your claim as soulmates."

"At the first stage, you will be able to hear each other's thoughts and communicate heart-to-heart without speaking. It is the most beautiful form of love."

"At the second stage, you will be able to feel each other's emotions from long distances, you could tell what your partner is going through at any point in time, this is an even better sign and a way to protect each other."

"At the third stage, you will be able to see through each other's eyes. You will see what they are seeing at any point you will it." Bianca Zul's ghostly apparition completed her statement while sitting beside Azrael.

Azrael had a look of unbelief and he spoke flatly. "How do you know this Auntie? For all I know, you're the one who rejected Yiu Ming Zul... In a way, You also behaved like Alex.." Azrael responded.

"You're too smart for your own good you know...?" Bianca Zul said with a sheepish smile. "Yiu Ming and I are not soul mates like you and Alex, Yiu Ming loves me very much, however, I took pity on him and decided to reciprocate those feelings, but I don't truly have them."

At this time, the voice of Alex Bayly sounded from outside the room. "Azrael, your food is on the table, come and eat and let's go to school..."

"Shit.." Azrael said as he got up and rushed towards the bathroom.
